How to be wise replied to Shanmugam's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@carlowillo 1) just visualise air moving from muladhara through the sushumna nadi to kutastha. You don’t have to get it exactly right all the time. Just do your best. 2) When you breath, use ujjayi pranayama. You should get a feeling of cold air going up whilst inhaling, and warm air going down whilst exhaling. Visualise it going to the third eye. It doesn’t have to be perfect! -

@Serotoninluv ‘the papers are evidence that the exam took place in a previous moment.’ Is that true. Can you absolutely know that that’s true. -

@Keanu thoughts are the mental pictures and sounds in your head. Reality is what you see and hear ‘externally’. Be sure not to confuse the both. -

@carlowillo in Kriya yoga, your objective is to attain kumbhaka. The special Kriya pranayama will be enough for that. -

@Nahm yes, these days I wonder what ‘true’ means. Does it mean something is see. What does ‘exist’ mean? What does ‘happened’ mean? These words start losing their meanings with inquiry. -

@Serotoninluv all evidence of yesterday is in your mind. The papers or your students can’t prove what doesn’t exist. @Keanu the thought didn’t change reality. Your actions did. ‘But what if you didn’t have that thought’ is an illusion. In reality, if you had that thought, it couldn’t have possibly been any other way. Because you don’t have free will to choose an alternative path. @Outer nothing is changing. Notice that ‘change’ is only your mind comparing your thoughts about a few seconds ago to the present. In your direct experience, there is no change at all. -

@Keanu your belief doesn’t change reality @Nahm in the dream, the visual aspects of the pen that I see is true. It’s not physical in nature, because I can’t touch it. Btw, the pen is only ‘true’ in the moment that I’m seeing it, i.e. in the dream. When I wake up, it’s only a thought. So only the thought exists. When I’m looking at a pen, in the moment I’m seeing it, it’s definitely true because I can see it. Is your experience different? -

@Nahm but I can see it. The proof is the visual aspect of the pen. -

@Keanu but did the pen exist when you were not looking at it. -

@Outer I don’t really understand that ‘consciousness’ talk. I only talk from my direct experience. By the way, by ‘exist’, I mean literally, metaphysically, does the pen exist when you’re not looking at it. If not, then why? Talk from your direct experience using your own words. -

@Nahm honestly I don’t understand when people say ‘there is only being’. What is being? And don’t expect me to understand ‘god, superposition, nothingness.’ Please talk from your own direct experience using only your words. @Truth Addict but did it really happen? I’m starting to doubt it did. -

@Nahm are you saying that what I’m seeing right now is not true. -

@Nahm if the present does not exist then what are you and I experiencing? @Truth now is what I’m experiencing all the time. ‘2 seconds ago’ is just an image in my mind. @Truth Addict ‘the past happened in the past’, is that true? -

@Faceless Do you also think that the past didn’t actually happen? -

@vanish how do you determine if something is true? What is your criteria? -
How to be wise replied to How to be wise's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Ether meditation is what led me to this doubt. I’m not really ‘thinking’ about this too much. I’m consciously aware right now that I have direct experience only of the present, and all my notions of the past are thoughts in my mind happening right now. So I just consciously asked, did those images about yesterday actually happen? Are they true? @vanish but all notion of the past is coming from your memories. Can you show me any proof that 1 hour ago actually existed? -
In that shopping video, Leo lists the top five problems as: wheat, dairy, corn, soy and artificial ingredients. And yet, he missed the most dangerous food of all: fast food. Fried chicken, fries and cheeseburgers are the cause of most obesity in the world. And yet, according to Dr Leo, if you stop eating wheat and sugar, gaining weight will be very hard. I would suggest that you stick with the advise given by doctors and well known health professionals, for your own very safety.

@MM1988 an addict can’t stop his addiction even though they usually want to. If this guy was enlightened, he didn’t even want to stop drinking. Becoming enlightened makes you care less about the body. -

@MM1988 they are not addicted to alcohol. They drink it for fun. They can stop anytime they want. Alchohol addicts can’t. -

@robdl we’re not talking about being ‘content’. We’re talking about making the prison cell into paradise. Imagine that!
