  1. @Nahm Haha just an example dude! Another example could be; 'I want to learn martial arts to defend myself against attack'. Due to it's primal roots, it's quite basic but powerful I think.
  2. @cetus56 Well I don't really meditate for enlightenment. I meditate for clarity of mind, more presence, more awareness of thoughts, etc. How's that?!
  3. I didn't. I googled 'scientists who meditate', I guess for motivation, and that article came up.
  4. @Prabhaker How do I fall back? If I stop practicing mindfulness? Sorry my ego hates contradiction. I've got a nice meditation practice in place, for the first time i've done several months, not just a few weeks then backsliding, and now I see some article about meditation not being a good thing and i'm just hating it, because my resistance will use it against me the next time I go to sit.
  5. @Prabhaker 70+% of us are living a western life in this forum. How do we reconcile this? I've noticed a difference in awareness though. Is that Placebo? Am I and many others wasting our time based on that?
  6. @PetarKa Thanks for sharing. To be honest I think if that unless your LP comes with a truck-load of resistance, it isn't your LP. Your job though, is to find a crack within the resistance, and stick your pinky finger in there. Over the years try to get your whole hand through and then you'll know the resistance can't block you out, and that you can break through it whenever you want. Then it will become more and more enjoyable. I used to think if it's genuine there will be little to no resistance. Hahaha! How wrong I was. No wonder I couldn't admit it to myself!
  7. Thanks, everyone!
  8. Acting is my art. Here is a music video I did a year or two back. Perhaps you can try to guess which one is me based on my profile picture. Pretty cool track too: Also a short film I was in that was shown at Cannes film festival. I am holding a rifle and saying naughty words :
  9. How can I get my mind on board more with my LP. I have crazy amounts of resistance every day, mostly about spiritual topics, EG. There is no-self so how can I get on board with this LP. My resistance comes in the truck load, it's not just about spiritual stuff. Help?
  10. @Gopackgo Thanks! @Callum A Thanks a lot. I really like that. Do we treat the mind as friend or a foe? Love you too buddy!
  11. @nautilus Great. I agree with that. Sometimes if you look into it too much it catches you like a motherf'er. It's like chasing thin air.
  12. @Martin123 enregetical imprint - what does this mean? I kind of know what you mean, I kind of don't. Haha, sorry. Can you condense your answer a little into maybe a sentence or two?
  13. @nautilus thanks man! Is it safe to say that your advice is to look at the resistance, let it go, focus on something else, to summarise?
  14. @herghly Basically every time I thought about LP, a word would pop into my head, the word ACTING. And then consciously or unconsciously (or a mixture of both), I would replace the word with something more 'realistic', or something that I was better at. One night I told myself, you know what? My LP might be to become an actor, and then I couldn't sleep all night due to this admission. The next few days after I thought deeply into it, admitted fully that that is my LP, and it made me cry. Since then, I've had some anxiety, because this requires a lot of me. I've been acting before, it's nothing new, so I know how hard it is, and how anxious it made me feel. And this is why I was hiding it, in an attempt to find something less emotionally taxing.
  15. When I found my LP I realised one thing; That I was hiding it from myself. Seriously. I was literally, purposefully hiding it from myself. Not really consciously, but because it was too hard, it required too much from myself, and it made me nervous to admit it to myself. Make sure you're not doing the same, even if it's emotionally uncomfortable. Good luck.
  16. I'm an actor. Talent and performance aside, when I leave an audition room, what traits would make me desirable for the casting team to want me on board? Many actors try to be James Dean edgy these days, but the best of the best appear not to be that way. Thoughts?
  17. I know my LP. Every time I think about it, and really wanna launch into it, my mind starts going on about all this spirituality stuff. It's holding me back. I meditate every day and do some mindfulness, but Leo has talked up spirituality so much, that I feel guilted into it. He said you're chasing your tail with happiness if you aren't getting enlightened. And now it's really peeing me off, because now my mind have been programmed with that stuff it's holding me back and creating excuses for pursing my LP. But I want my LP more than anything else in the world, but this has become a block. Help?
  18. I think Leo is manipulative as F. Of course if your whole life purpose is to be a personal development professional, you've gonna take it to the max. Actualized.org is supposed to be for normal people looking for a way to put more pleasure and fulfillment into your life, as you go about doing what you do. But now it's all like, hey! I'm doing two hours of meditation, an hour of self-inquiry, an hour of contemplation, and guess what? If you don't you'll NEVER be happy. Then he brings out a LP course and tells you 10,000 hours is required to be a master at your LP, yet it's second to enlightenment. Then he has the nerve to bring out a video called 'Things you don't know you want' and tells people they want to become a tree and have a Samadhi experience. The stuff he may say is true but he contradicts himself a silly, silly amount of times. Not to mention you've got 18 year old kids on here, sat at home doing spiritual practice for hours on end, neglecting their friends and their lives, shit scared that they'll never be happy if they don't. This is YOUR LP Leo, not everyone's, so stop trying to guilt people and force your life onto them.
  19. I want to know what makes one of these magnetic, alluring mystics, different from somebody from the science and non-duality crowd. Is it to do with depth of enlightenment? For example, folks like OSHO and Sadhguru are so alluring to many. Where as, not to be insulting, but guys like Peter Russell and Gary Weber seem to be great, but there is a blatent, yet not so obvious difference between these guys? Is it just personality? Or is it something different?
  20. Anybody that has used it have any tips for how to get the most out of it, how to approach it best, etc?
  21. That's great advice! Thanks! Can I ask you guys, how many videos you watched per week/day? Does it depend on the depth of the video, like some videos required a lot of contemplation or exercises before moving to the next? Or did you have an average amount of videos you watched per week? At what general pace should I approach it? Thanks again.
  22. @Evilwave Heddy Thanks a lot! All great suggestions.
