  1. I would definitely have insurance, not having to worry about your health and money problems if you became sick is worth a lot in itself. Also, if you got really sick, 1000 bucks wouldn't cover anything.
  2. As someone who frequents the gym as well, consciousness work has had the opposite effect. I've become much more accepting towards this kind of behaviour because its just how it is and i can see the underlying processes that fuel this behaviour. Perhaps it's just a stage, if you progress enough you'll probably realise that its nothing to be annoyed at. I was like this a while ago though, now i just laugh inside me in a playful way because it doesnt offend me any longer. Dont be judgmental at yourself though, just be mindful of these thoughts and judgements and it will probably pass on after a while.
  3. Exactly. They're not perfect, but if things are as bad as OP is saying i would give them a chance. If they don't make a difference you always have the option to quit. Personally in the fall of 2015 i was so depressed and got put on AD's that made me like a zombie, but if i hadn't been given them i probably wouldn't be here right now. So they can have a good function when the circumstances are dire. And OP, no one is talking about 19 years, most people use them for a couple of months to a year to get over a bad period. It seems to me like you're thinking in a very black/white way. Just because you start doesnt mean you have to use them for the rest of your life. Also, just because you friends reacted like zombies doesnt mean you necessarily do. People have vastly different reactions to them. Lastly, go see someone. Have you been to a therapist?
  4. Psychiatry isn't psuedoscience. Go see someone, a psychiatrist or psychologist. If you get put on antidepressants or sleeping medication for a while to get you over this it wont be the end of the world. Do you even have personal experience with psychiatry? Your view of it seems to be built on old movie stereotypes, which is totally unwarranted.
  5. Are you serious? If you actually believe that i dont think you have learned anything from his videos anyway.
  6. Peterson has my respects for standing up to these horrible SJWs, but his mind seems very limited in the context of taking in information that does not correspond with his paradigm and worldview. He seems obsessed with marxists, postmodernists and religion. I would listen to him only if i was interested in learning traditional, mainstream information. His ego seems to be in the way for him to accept new and radically different information. Just my two cents, i might have read him wrong, but this is my impression of him having watched some of his lectures and a good amount of interviews.
  7. It's truly sad to see how right Leo is, and how this thread is showing exactly what he is talking about. Personally i've noticed a negative shift the last 6 months here. You still find the resourceful and important threads and posts that can make a positive difference, but there seems to be a lot of garbage in between, which wasnt here before in my opinion. I've also made the mistake of participating in this sometimes, which is only my own responsibility of course. But i've noticed every time i've done so its effected my in a negative way. If the forum continues this way its probably the best for everyone to shut it down. And i for one would would completely respect and support that decision if it comes to that.
  8. I am struggling with this too, but i think the best cure is to just do as you did when you were younger. Try to read a few books now and then, turn the phone off and just limit your external stimulation. Your brain is constantly changing so it'll probably get better depending on how you use it.
  9. If you people love Leo so much, perhaps you should follow his advice.
  10. DUDE, Leo posted a warning at the beginning of those videos. Stop blaming him when you must have ignored them and still watched the video. Take 100% responsibility for your own actions instead of blaming everyone else. Leo publishes extremely important content and it can be overwhelming to some. But if it is overwhelming to you, you should ask yourself why you cant handle instead of blaming Leo and going into victim mentality. The content is there, its up to you if you want to access it or not, no one is forcing you. Just because you couldnt handle it shouldnt mean that he should modify his content just to suit you. BTW, i actually got some of the same reaction as you did, but instead of blaming Leo i moved on and accepted the situation. It made me stronger in the long run.
  11. I can relate to a lot of what you are saying from personal experience. Something that helped me was to see my how small and insignificant my life and everyone elses is in a bigger perspective. And that doesnt have to be a bad thing. You could call it a "cosmic perspective". In short its just to see how seemingly significant things for you really are just the opposite. Lets say you completely fuck something up and the result is that someone hates you, does it really matter in the end? You'll both probably be dead before you reach the age of 100, the universe has existed for 14 billion years, do you really want to use your limited time pleasing others? Stopping the people pleasing might make you uncomfortable at first, but in reality its just an emotion which you can be mindful of without letting it control your life. If you can live life independently of being comfortable you will have no need to please other because you wont have to chase the comfort. Becoming comfortable with discomfort is an incredible ability, although it goes against your human nature and is therefore hard to master. Anyway, back to the "cosmic perspective", reality is so vast and perhaps infinite that even if earth was smashed by an asteroid tomorrow it wouldnt really matter in the grander scale. Even Adolf Hitler will be forgotten one day and he was no people pleaser, to put it lightly. So why care about pleasing someone, when the worst consequence is that it might make you uncomfortable? Visualizing can be helpful with seeing things in a bigger perspective. Videoes like this could give you a peek of how small and insignificant we and our problems really are, even like it might feel otherwise.
  12. Are you certain that you already exist?
  13. Do you still have a new flow of physical energy after the Al-Lad trip?
  14. @Annie My point was that you should care about the channel, because it is the source of the information. Shitty sources = Unreliable and often false information. One quick search debunked his whole fear mongering story, http://www.world-nuclear-news.org/RS-Detector-network-flags-traces-of-radioactive-iodine-in-Europe-2102175.html. As i said the article says that the levels are not toxic, and the website is a valid source. And if you are afraid of radiation exposure i have bad news for you. You are constantly being exposed to some form of radiation, but the levels are usually so small and insigificant that you will never notice it. This is one of those cases. And i actually live in one of the "affected" countries and this exposure doesnt concern me at all. If you want to lose sleep over this, thats up to you. But i would strongly suggest double checking sources that make extraordinary claims, so you dont have to put yourself through unnecessary stress.
  15. One look and that channel and it reeks of ego paranoia and the guy managing it is obviously not sane. But this brings up something which i think needs to be said. There are a lot of people on this forum who obviously need a course in critical thinking skills and source criticism, because i see a lot of these links being posted. They are nothing more than a distraction and a delusion of egomaniacs who are unable to accept reality. Its great to be open minded, but you need to find a balance. Being too open minded will just waste your time on garbage like this, while being too critical will make you dogmatic and shortsighted. Thats why balance is key, or else you will waste a lot of time on delusions. One quick search on google shows that the radiation levels which are discussed are way lower than what is dangerous too humans, you're welcome.
  16. Well, personally i would never see a chiropractor even if i got paid. You might as well pay some random person on the street to fix your pain. Also, are you sure your pain isnt connected to your mental health? There is a strong body-mind connection and bad mental health can cause phyiscal pain. In Scandinavia we have something called psychomotor physiotherapy which is very well suited for this. I'd highly recommend it if they have it in your area. Before you even consider going to a chiropractor, you should watch this video.
  17. Why don't you see a physiotherapist? They are like chiropractors but with actual education.
  18. If you have time you should listen to the whole album, it's pretty neat.
  19. Well, that is the problem with forums like these. They present us with great oppurtunities for a spirited and interesting debate, but some people just want the easy and superficial answers. The truth is that even the most "easy" areas of debate can be extremely complicated when you uncover them layer by layer. But the thing is, that requires intellectual labour, which is something most people wont do. So instead of actually contemplating a foreign or different idea, its easy to discredit it. In the end its their loss, because by discrediting things that are foreign to them they rob themselves of interesting and new experiences.
  20. @Loreena What a crazy and close minded thing to say. Heavy metal can be immensely powerful on an emotional level, and believe it or not but some of my most profound enlightenment experiences without meditating have been with various forms of metal. Just because you might have a dogmatic view of what metal really is, dont apply it to everyone. This is one example of songs that go under the "heavy metal" genre but can be immensely powerful if you let yourself free of dogmatic beliefs and just ride along. At least it was for me
  21. Just like people doing PD are different with different happiness levels, so are people not doing PD. It's not like everyday people are a monolith and everyone who does PD are automatically not as fullfilled and happy as people who do PD. This is one of the traps of PD i've experienced, its so easy to get caught in this superiority paradigm where you look at everyone else like undeveloped children. The irony is that this kind of thinking just makes you seem less developed than the average Joe. Also, one of the reason many people are attracted to PD, is that they're ususally not happy/unfulfilled in the first place. Most everyday people who are happy or fulfilled enough have no reason to approach PD.
  22. @Will Bigger He is a proper one, are you? This shit has been debunked so many times for obvious reasons. Its just dangerous to post it here because you might get some vulnerable and easily influenced people to try it, which could lead to fatal results.
  23. Are you putting them on a pedestal? Realise that behind their beatiful looks they are just like you, with a few biological and psychological differences. Made up of the same matter, they all have to shit and piss too(just like you) and they are probably full of insecurities, just like most people. We men tend to put women up on a pedestal and sometimes think of them like goddesses, this can create a lot of anxiety when you deal with them. So the easiest answer i can give you is to just stop thinking that way if you are. At least it worked for me.
  24. You really think so? It might look like that on the surface, but if you're acting like a "bitch i'd argue it's the opposite. Insecurity disguised as self confidence can fuel "bitchy" behaviour.
