  1. Yeah, I'm with you on that. London Real has a decent following but nowhere near enough of what it would need to be
  2. Hmm, I don't know. If your gut is inflamed, yeah maybe they will be irritating but there is not much in there that can trigger inflammation unless it is something like coconut oil or processed vegan junk. Although it is true that everything we eat produces a tiny bit of immune response as the gut is "sampling" things to build up immune tolerance. But yah, agree that direct experience beats any research
  3. You want to basically consume abundace of foods that support hepatic detoxification pathways: 1. all cruciferous vegetables: at least 2 cups/ day - these are superb for detox support. It was even found that eating broccoli reduces the impact of showering with contaminated water. 2. seeds: good source of cysteine that helps with production of glutathione + look up other foods rich in cysteine 3. very high fibre diet to improve toxin elimination 4. good hydration & make sure to filter your water 5. eradication of other toxifying habits (alcohol, tobacco, weed, eating junk) 6. exercise especially high intensity that drives a lot of sweating 7. saunas 8. air filtration system may be helpful as well but I've never looked into this to know whether they really work
  4. Extreme elimination diet, if done long term will probably decimate certain phyla of fibre-consuming bacteria. It may work for some people but it should never be done long term because the damage to the commensal flora would be irreversible.
  5. sorry, missed this one. The short answer is that saturated fat content triggers a localised immune response in the gut The long answer is that the high saturated fat content of animal foods triggers something called Toll-Like Receptors 4 in the gut similarly the LPS from toxic bacteria would. These can interact with secondary messenger NF-kB to enter the nucleus of the cell and trigger a pro-inflammatory response including COX-2 and other mediators. "Current evidence suggests that saturated fatty acids (SFA) act as non-microbial TLR4 agonists, and trigger its inflammatory response. Thus, our present review provides a new perspective on the potential mechanism by which SFAs could modulate TLR4-induced inflammatory responses: (1) SFAs can be recognized by CD14-TLR4-MD2 complex and trigger inflammatory pathways, similar to lipopolysaccharide (LPS). (2) SFAs lead to modification of gut microbiota with an overproduction of LPS after a high-fat intake, enhancing this natural TLR4 ligand" https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26687466/ Basically, if you suffer from any condition where chronic inflammation is present (anything ending with -itis or autoimmunity, asthma etc), meat needs to be either minimised or removed. Generally, there is little to no benefit of eating white meat or red meat when the benefits vs downsides are considered.
  6. Brian would definitely be a step forward for Londoners, with Orange-as-fuck Sadiq Khan, Brian is a nice mixture of healthy Orange, healthy Green and some aspects of Yellow. Of course they will pull out some shit on him, they always do but comparing to other candidates he still has a lot to offer to London, I am just worried that he is not the typical "politician" like Sadiq is and is not ruthless enough. They will fuck him up and spit him out like they did Theresa May. He has a nice agenda but most of that won't fly, he'll spend all his time dealing with covid, brexit and TFL Maybe he should stick to London Real and think of another way to give back to humanity, becoming a major of London does not seem a task aligned with his mission.
  7. Oh how exciting! Good luck to folks applying.
  8. so you would, after a single dose, be able to tell based on symptoms whether somebody has mercury toxicity problems or not?
  9. There is no such thing as laziness, what is missing is a spark of motivation coming from a powerful sense of purpose, if you have that it is impossible to be lazy. Or could it be that you are simply facing resistance? In such case, reading the War of Art could help.
  10. this is an excellent point, never thought about it in this way
  11. Well said I see a lot of problem with the way mainstream veganism is heading which is processed junk, cheese replacements, fake meats, chips, vegan chocolates and crap. For a long time I used to think that everybody is doing a whole food plant-based diet, they aren't. many vegans are clueless about nutrition they consume foods dominant with sunflower & canola oils, salt, phosphate additives, vegan butter, thickeners, colourings and plant proteins. If a vegan diet is done holistically based predominantly on whole foods, beautiful but now with it becoming easier and easier to get vegan junk so more and more people are transitioning, see this becoming a huge problem. Not disputing the ethical side, that argument is indisputable. Once you've demonstrated the evidence of animal harm to somebody and they still accept those consequences by consciously choosing to eat the animal foods, your job is done, any additional screaming, vindicating and riding the guilt train makes people hate you and creates distance.
  12. hmm, I couldn't agree less with you. In another post you said you MUST NOT take ALA if you have a risk of mercury toxicity. Now, imagine based on what you said folks starting to load on these things. How many of them will end up harming themselves. I see few problems with this type of approach: 1. you're ignoring the bigger picture - from my experience, most people who are chronically fatigued can reverse it by optimising their lifestyle & diet, I've seen it happen time and time again. If people assume straight away, they are toxic, all the more obvious simpler solutions (e.g. eat more complex carbs, get your iron checked, eat more protein, fix your sleep, stop abusing stimulants) are thrown out of the window straight away. It becomes the "what stuff can I take to make me feel better -> green pharmacy is still a pharmacological mindset" 2. It creates a mindset that everybody who experiences mild health problems is toxic which clearly isn't the case. 3. loading yourself with ALA and other supplements like DMSA etc. is not detoxification. Chelation does not equal detoxification. If you have not prepared your elimination channels (gut, liver kidneys) for the shitstorm that's about to come up and are a guy with zero to none nutritional, biochemical, anathomical & physiological knowledge you could severely harm yourself. I see a lot of problems with folks jumping into these protocols without proper background knowledge and guidance.
  13. Reading through the comments now, you really love this word don't you. I'm really trying to understand what you're trying to say but am missing the point.. ...help me out here
  14. I mean the burning of the plant itself along with the paper whenever a joint is smoked. It is a plant but burning of organic matter produces free radical residue and that puts strain of our antioxidant reserves. Probably not an issue if you do 1-2 joints a week but can become irritative if few joints are smoked daily.
  15. Frankly pesticides are the last of your worries if you are a cannabis user, I'd be more worried about all those oxidative particles from carbon combustion making their way to your body + the addictive nature of cannabis + the fact that in most cases weed is being used as green pharmacy solution (e.g. can't sleep need weed, can't relax need weed..)
  16. @mavelezm be careful not to put experts on pedestal and ideolize them, a lot of what Anthony says is pure bogus.
  17. What makes you think you have a heavy metal toxicity problem? Just curious What do you base the judgement on?
  18. @perlita autoimmunity is a great mystery because unlike things like coeliac (despite it being autoimmune too) we cannot pinpoint them to a single cause. While the main mediator is an immune system, the cause is rarely immunological. The immune system is on overdrive because foreign antigens are making their way into the body and these can often resemble the amino acid structure of out own cells (e.g. thyroid cells). Gut health is one of the most significant accelerators of all autoimmunity. If you have root canals, it is possible that that has been creating a mucosal permeability in your mouth and antigens have been falling through triggering an immunological reaction. The dentist may be able to shed more light on it but I believe in a same way you have "leaky gut" you can have leaky stomach and even a leaky "mouth" meaning permeable dental mucosa. This is when gluten or dairy avoidance helps but they are never the cause, more like they simply contain proteins that can fall through or open up tight junctions for other stuff to come in. Lack of vitamin D is also a great accelerator of autoimmunity because it strengthens the immunological tolerance of your T-cells so they don't attack your own tissue. Your microbiome health is also important here because microbiota is an immunomodulator other things like chronic deficiencies will also play a part here
  19. so beautiful
  20. @Striving for more bro get a professional support. You're in UK, the holistic medicine is on a great level here. Go to the Institute of Functional medicine and find someone you can work with or reach out to London Clinic of Nutrition. Alternatively get in touch with the College of Naturopathic Medicine and you can get 2 sessions with a herbalist student or a naturopath for £40!!!!!
  21. @Spartan you may benefit from reading The Path of least resistance. Seems like a huge ball of resistance stands between you and your passion, this is common. It comes in all shapes and forms. doubt, fear, anger, laziness, boredom, distraction.
  22. In order to appreciate progress, you have to experience a relapse. Over and over again and once you climb back out of that hole you'll realise that while you were at it, the outside has changed a tiny little bit...for the better. And so you carry on and at some point, you fall right back and once you've crawled out, the world is again slightly better. That's how you progress.
  23. I wouldn't worry about that. It is true that not all plant foods contain all 9 EAAs but I assume you won't eat ONLY legumes. If you combined them with tofu, vegetables, grains, nuts et you're getting the whole cocktail of all AA + your body can transaminate most amino acids (except the EAAs ofcourse) so protein combining is nothing to worry about as long as you get your caloric requirements met.
