  1. Buckwheat , quinoa and black rice are still wholegrains dude, no need to go scaremongering about them. Wholegrains are unlikely to give you an autoimmune disease unless you have an inflammatory bowel disease, leaky gut, or something of that nature that couldresult in SIBO, the gut bacteria entering the blood circulation or landing on peritoneum and giving you systemic inflammation. As per the pesticides, you can decide to soak and sprout your whole grains to make it more digestible and nutritious which will effectively remove large chunk of the pesticides. Agreed on grains being acidic. Our bodies have powerful buffering systems to balance the PH of any meals but it is wise to control the intake of acidic foods which is pretty much every cooked food and food of animal origin.
  2. @NicAndStuff I'd say it if its simply for the purpose of competing and becoming the top of the league, than maybe not so but if its to pass down the knowledge, teach people how to defend themselves, improve their flexibility, agility and stamina than absolutely. On the top of that, imagine you could combine a combat school with retreats to nature, early morning meditation followed by combat practice. Making it a deeper experience as it used to be in times of Samurai. Adding new elements to it like learning about the body, various herbs, ways to survive in nature etc...I can see a powerful life purpose right there my friend.
  3. such a great post, love it ! Modern medicine is a wonder tool for those who have been hurt or in an accident, no question about it. Anyone who wants to see miracles happen should go sit in the emergency room for 3 hours after midnight.Being an ER surgeon is one of the most rewardig jobs because you clearly see success day in day out. The treatment of chronic diseases is where man has lost himself in thoughts, ideas, ego and delusion. These people have become so far-fetched from reality with years of academical brainwashing. It is great that more and more people are becoming interested in the alternative healing that alows the body to do what it has to instead of suppressing all its defense mechanisms.
  4. There are tens of thousands debates exactly like this one all over 4 chan , quora digest, facebook, twitter..... What's the point folks? Nobody in this loop is changing their opinion anyways. Let's just all go our own way and burry the axe.
  5. "War of Art" is quite good on procrastination but not sure it is what you are looking for. Perhaps Stephen Covey's "7 habits". It is a classic and full of wisdom and tips on productivity.
  6. the exact version of mine is: "To study health and the body, to help people live longer, better and to thrive in life." That's the fancy title at least....., the reality is still being stuck in corporate job , figuring out next steps and following a lucky star
  7. Leo's videos are like doing mountain climbing. Until you've conquered Mt Everest, there will always be a "bigger fish to fry" no matter what you have climbed so far. But you could simply decide to climb all 5K Alpine hills and be completely fine with it even though you haven't gone to the highest peaks. I'm finding actualized.org the same. There is information for you to become great at picking girls, successful at starting a business, being able to manage your finances, raise a conscious child, being proactive at your work or leaving your crappy job for something you think is meaningful. You don't have to go all in toward Enlightenment and most of us never will despite listening to all these videos. You can consciously decide to be happy with being successful in your corporate career even though there is way more for you out there if you wished to pursue it. And if no, that's fine. Lot of the content you may find "cold" and lacking softness because that's just the way these topics are. The facts and tips are laid down for you and if that's too scary, then maybe you are not ready for those topics yet, which is my case for example. If so, go back to the older videos and come back in couple years, perhaps you will be more wise by then, and maybe not but that's still ok
  8. This is pretty much the burden of trying to understand health and nutrition. I used to think I got it when I first discovered Patrick Holford talking about supplements, -> then comes Brian Clement saying that supplements are mostly bullshit -> then comes Michael Greger saying you actually need few supplements if you are eating vegan diet -> Mark Sisson says veganism is a cult and makes people sick hence converts many vegans to paleo freaks -> Dr Morse says eat only fruits and some veggies, everything else makes you toxic and inflamed. ...What's the truth anymore?..Perhaps there is none and everything is true and false at the same time because every human being is completely different. I am led to believe that everyone needs to find what works for them. A diet that will result in optimal energy & vigour throughout the day without stimulants, that will make it easy for you to get up of bed in the morning and give you a good sleep, no bloating and indigestion, no overal pains, poop 3 times a day, good skin, healthy hair and nails and healthy sex life and libido. In my opinion these are the indicators of vibrant health. These are the indicators to follow, not some goddamned chart of RDA values. I haven't found that optimal diet yet but know that many have, guess it comes down to trial and error without following someone's carrot blindly.
  9. Sorry dude, no idea about this one. I definitely believe infusions work for inflammatory and destructive lung conditions such as asthma, emphysema etc but can't really tell you which ones and how to prepare them. Do some google research. Is there a particular health conditions you are looking to tackle?
  10. Few questions for you: are you a regular coffee drinker? do you do any vigorous training or have a path of competitive sports that required a lot of training? do you get any of the following: anxieties blood sugar problems any inflammatory disease (ending in "-itis") hard time getting of bed in the morning most energy in the evenings How about any of these: migraines easy irritability goiter hard time putting on/losing weight excessive sweating EDIT + do you know your resting blood pressure? ++ do you know your resting heart beat?
  11. Bulking for the sake of being muscular and consciousness work are two separate paths, perhaps that's why. One being driven by vanity and ego the other by higher values. A healthy and strong body as a result of concious eating and concious excercise that is primarily aimed at longevity goes hand in hand with the true spiritual practice : ) .... at least in my opinion.
  12. No unique answer. Strong bias on both sides, lots of deliberate confusion and misinformation, hard to tell anymore. You can go full Keto or Vegan Keto. Some eat little veg, some eat/drink some eat dairy some don't. Same for vegan. Not all are raw, in fact majority of vegans are on high carb, some take in more fat than others, some go heavy on cooked foods some prefer mostly fruits and veggies. Go try all of them for couple weeks. Than come back to us and share your observations with the rest of the forum. There is no proof like direct experience.
  13. @Mirror of Confusion the thing with any oil that it is a highly dense source of calories stripped of nearly all of its nutrients. A lot of oils that are not "cold pressed" are processed on high heat and you know you are asking for trouble when heating fats to high temperatures. Also the reason that Mediterranean diet is considered so healthy is not high oils but a lot of fruits veggies , legumes, nuts and seeds. Yes, they do eat meat and some dairy but the staple foods are plants. Plus these people are very cheerful, social, get a lot of sunshine , exercise and swim in the sea which is incredibly healthy and ionising. They generally enjoy live more than us in colder climates. I've spent 6 months in Greece as an exchange student back in 2013 and literally every second person is ripped and fit as f**k. These people are an epitome of health. Greeks more than Italians from what I've noticed as italians tend to smoke and drink way too much, not to mention all the cheese they consume.
  14. good luck getting your question answered there is literally like 1000 questions added every minute. ..actually thee is a queue even hours before the Q&A !! people keep asking same questions over and over again
  15. @Leo Gura most kids who go to college still have no idea what they want to do or sense of direction and are just following their parent's advice who may not know any better themselves. I've lost 5 years studying business this way. How would you suggest the pre-college folk go about figuring out what they want to do in life before they get sucked in the academia. I have a cousin in that age who is quite lost in life but don't really have any advice for him, I doubt he would consider something like life-purpose course.
  16. @Feel Good hey dude if you can ever find that article again, please share it here. I am genuinely interested. Always thought this stuff is quite healthy but perhaps not so. Thanks
  17. Sprints are great, I try to do them at least once a week. They work all your leg and abdominal muscles and help develop your fast twitch muscle's oxygen efficiency and mitochondrial density. I am finding that they also build willpower because after few sprints, you need to push yourself mentally quite hard to do more because they are so freaking tough and painful. Sprinting is a furnace for calorie burning and is a great way to "shock" the body. Beware though because hard activities like springing release a lot of cortisol and adrenaline and if you do it too often you may start weakening your adrenal glands. Also there is a lot of impact on knees especially for those who don't have a good technique, good shoes and who run on pavement. A great alternative is uphill sprints, ideally on dirt surface up on hills somewhere. Also agreed on the mindfulness part, it is like vigorous swimming, hard for mind to wonder when your body is in so much discomfort.
  18. Yeah Bragg's is one of the biggest brands. Not sure if they filter out the culture inside though.
  19. Guess you can always enter a monastery and trade peace and tranquillity for some manual labour..think I suggested that to you before. I have no idea if this is possible outside of Asian countries but might be worth exploring.
  20. @Popeye good that you let it happen. She knows that she did not miss on much and she saw that you were cool with her exploring other "areas". Probably a good relationship strengthening experience. Next time she comes back with this, tell her you want to participate
  21. Make sure you purchase the purest one which contains "the mother", the gross-looking sediment at the bottom of the bottle which is supposed to be quite good for the gut bacteria. Lots of benefits of ACV, haven't explored them myself but people say its really good for stomach problems and digestion.
  22. great question, following the topic -->
  23. Realise that anger is like whipping your own back. It never hurts anyone else besides you. It clouds the judgment, compassion and understanding and is a purely egoically driven response regardless of how humble the cause might be. It does not matter who is right and who is wrong in any case. You can forgive by understanding where these people come from. Everybody is just doing the things that they believe will make them happy...even if they seem like the most evil person, they have their reasons. You don't have to like them, just understand them -> this is the first step to remedy. People treat animals poorly because they don't know any better, remember when you were once the same. Many dairy and meat farmers have been doing this their whole life, their dad and grandad did, nobody showed them any other way. And when a band of vegans marches in forcing their agenda, everybody gets emotional because they all lack understanding for each other. Believe it or not, most people do not realise that the piece of steak on the plate once had a heartbeat. We unconsciously filter these facts out because they are disturbing. I am not defending the meat industry, just like you, it concerns me and it is one of the reasons I have gone plant based but at the same time realise that these things happen for a reason and have to be there because its just the way world is right now
  24. why bother going to youtube then? People will sense that you are just fulfilling your selfish needs as honourable as they may be. Just like all these shits that won't disclose a single tip unless you pay them or sign to their newsletter & buy their product. In my opinion you want to give massive amount of free content with a lot of value and maybe later on, create a product and offer it, not push just offer....but maybe that's not how it works and I have no idea what I am talking about
