Salvijus replied to Sugarcoat's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Sugarcoat you dropped meditation and nothing changed really. You're still looking for ultimate fullfilment like everybody else. And you're not gonna find it while playing video games or eating potato chips. You will only find the ultimate fullfilment if you trancend the mind. And without meditation that is impossible. -

The point is to arrive at what all human beings desire for: Absolute fulfillment. -

Probably you just don't understand the point of meditation. If you did, you'd be meditating 24/7. -
I don't think it depends on genetics. My father eats only white bread and milk his whole life and he's more healthy then I am. Runs 10km every day. And if I eat a single junk food ill be sick to my stomach. And I have my fathers genetics lol. Im pretty sure it's about one's spiritual evolution. If one is not evolved like a pig or a boar, then he will be very robust and physically rooted. A pig or a boar is very hard to kill actually because of how physically rooted they are. A deer on the other hand we can say is much more spiritual animal, it not so physically rooted anymore. A single arrow can kill it. It's like that with humans also i believe. More evolved a human becomes, less physical he becomes and more heavenly he becomes. Therefor not very robust and strong in the body anymore. But strong in spirit. Another way of saying the same thing: the more conscious you become, less stupidness you can tolerate.

You say 'how do I submit'. There is no how. The digree of experiencial realization that everything is one, will reflect your degree of submittion. Your digree of submittion is just a reflection of how deeply you know the truth. -
Salvijus replied to Theprofessional's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Submit to reality is not the best choice of words. Better would be, realize that everything is one experiencially. Then total acceptance of the entire universe is inevitable. Also 'submit' is not an action. Submit is a consiquence. It's the consiquence of realizing the oneness of existence experiencially. -

Yea, i grew up on this practice from the very beginning of my spiritual journey. It's in my blood and bones this practice. I used to do this practice in my dreams even lol. It's the most powerful practice if done right imo. But I would say majority of people are not doing it right. Or are not getting the technique right. If done right, the question will gradually pull the awareness out of the mind and trancend deeper and deeper layers of personal identity. If done wrong, there's a danger of becoming deluded and fake enlightened. Which is quite common imo. If self-inquiry is too confusing just do aware of awareness, the results are pretty much the same, but with less potential for confusion and mental masturbation. -

Yea I also think void doesnt have a sense of self. Total no self. But the void still exists. And would argue that that void without any sense of self is your true nature. For me existing as nothing and absolutely no self means the same thing actually. When there's absolutely no self there's just beingness. Beingness is both nothing and everything and has no center and has no sense of self in it. -
Salvijus replied to Cathal's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I would say 'exist as nothing'. When there is stright up no self. Awareness still remains. That awareness is void. That awareness has no personal sense of self and has no center. It's bottomless. And that's your true nature. That's how I would interpret at least. Edit. When all sense of self dissapear. There is something that is aware that all sense of self has dissapeared. That which knows that all sense of self dissapeared is you. Formless, bottomless, untanganble awareness. -

Okey I just watched this short video of rupert spira He literally says the blankness of deep sleep gets permiated with awareness and pure knowing more and more as we become more and more concious in a waking state. Lol. Either im not getting something or I was right afterall... -
Salvijus replied to WokeBloke's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@RMQualtrough okey okey. You sound convincing. Ill take your word for it. ? But I still think it's possible to be concious in deep sleep, or anesthesia or cessation samadhi states. At least the teachers that I listen to say that, like sadhguru or goenka for example. -
Salvijus replied to WokeBloke's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@RMQualtrough your 100% sounds like 1% to me. But whatever, rupert spira is not the only example of such phenomena. -
Salvijus replied to WokeBloke's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@RMQualtrough no, no. I don't think that's what he meant. There are plenty of beings capable of being aware during deep sleep, anesthesia, cessation nibbana nirvikalpa samadhis etc. It’s a well known thing in spirituality. Awareness is indestructable. Even if all sense organs experience dissapeared (smell, taste, touch, sight, hearing, thinking) there is something that is aware that all experience has dissapeared. That something is pure formless awareness. The Absolute. God self. The bottomless womb of existence. -
Ability to solve conflicts and bring harmony. Increased spontaneity and authenticity. Creativity and devine inspiration. Wisdom and clarity of thought. Ability to penetrate and gain insights into any problem. Deep self awareness and depth of presence. Very high intuition and ability to discern what is true and what is false. Ability to see through lies and recognize authenticity in others. Deeper connection to god and your own Self. If spiritual iq goes very high you may become like buddha and know everything that is worth knowing in the universe. These are just some benefits of the top of my head. The list is probably much longer. ... "actually this is the first time I hear that. " Yeah that's because I've just invented it ? another name for it commonly used is your 'level of awareness' or 'spiritual growth'.
-
Spiritual iq is best. There's an intelligence beyond mind's intelect and emotion. Embody that instead.

I would say there are 3 components. The experience, the ego interpreting the experience, and awareness that is aware of both the experience and ego's interpretation of experience. To say that there is no personal "you" is not entirely fair. In my understanding a personal self is very much there. Many spiritual traditions spend years of practice to dissolve the ego. Ego is not like a unicorn that is just a concept and doesnt exists. Ego is not like that, ego has it's own tangable reality, it can be dense or tranparant. Buddhist's are not spending years in meditation trying to dissolve a unicon-like concept. They're are dissolving something real, something almost physical. And that physical entity is what continues after music track ends. The same music track comtinues if it has not been dissolved. Of course awareness is beyond ego. Awareness has nothing to do with anything. But denying the existence of personal self/ego is not fair, and not even true, i would say. Something to think about. -

You sure? How do u know? After all awareness is eternal. So how can there be a cessation of awareness? I heard once rupert spira share his experience of being under anastesia where he was put into coma. And he reported there was no discontinuation of awareness. All experience dissapeared, yet he was still aware. How would u explain that? Is that different then buddhist's nibbana state? Edit. Even by goenka's definition of cessation he says all sound, sight, smell, touch and all experience dissapeares. Then you experience something which is beyond mind and matter, something that can't be spoken about or described. -

Experience is movement. When all movement stops. That which remains is not a movement, that is called the void. Another way of saying is, existence is sound, sound comes from silence. Silence is the void. Silence is not an experience. Silence is no-experience experience tho. Void is a no-sound sound. It cant be called a sound because sound is a movement and Silence is nonmovement. That void is the pure formless awareness and the canvas on which existence and sounds play. Only becouse there is silence, sound becomes possible. Void can exist without sounds, but sounds cannot exist without silence. I don't know where I'm going with this. But it's going somewhere deep. -

Well I suggest to we stop seeking because seeking is the problem that gets us away from what we are. But the problem is, the seeking is happening unconsciously and involuntery. The seeking can only stop if the identity is fully broken with mind activity. For this to happen awareness has to be Sharp as a laser. This is where practice and all the spiritual disciplines come into play. There are many ways to brake the identity with the mind and stop seeking. Energy ways, yoga ways, chanting ways, devotional ways, cultivating awareness buddhists ways etc.. To stop seeking is not a question of an attitude, like today i descided to stop seeking and thats it bam, I'm enlightened. Lol no. Not like that. Mind is striving constantly to become something more, 'I want' is an never ending desire if one observes he can confirm this easily. To stop seeking is to stop all mind's activity. To stop seeking is total ego death. To stop seeking is to brake all identity with mind and expand into infinite consciouness. For this to happen there are many methods. -
Salvijus replied to Raptorsin7's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
'Identity with thoughts' I think is one definition but perhaps not the full definition. To trancend ego is to trancend mind and it's activity and the identity with the body-mind. The deepest identity we have is the Seeker. 'I want to achieve something' this identity I call ego. If this 'I want' is surrendered, ego dies. Thought activity also dies. Because ego lives on 'I want' and all mental activity starts from there. If that is gone, then there's just pure awareness infinity nondual samadhi. If that's not happening then that could only mean one thing, that effort 'I want' has not been fully surrendered. Maybe partialy surrendered. But far far away from full and total surrender. -
Salvijus replied to Raptorsin7's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
The common thing that I notice in people who say 'I stopped trying, I'm already the awareness' is that it's just intelectual. The actual stopping and surrender is far far away from actuality. In my understanding, when the actual end of seeking happens, it's a state of absolute samadhi and stillness. It's absolute ego death and omniscience and infinity. Because ego can't survive without thought activity. And tremendous intensity of energy is there. So all these things is what indicates that one properly and genuinely surrendered the desire and effort. If that's not happening, in my understanding it's a fake surrender. Fake enlightenment can be called maybe. -

@Tristan12 lol ? you could be right. -
Salvijus replied to Evoke's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I'd be slightly sceptical and careful about this. My explanation would be that people go under the mind, not above the mind when they play games. It's the opposite of meditation. Just saying.
