  1. That's why everyone should die at peace with themselves and with no regrets. As the wise stoic Seneca said, ”he who doesn't lend his throat to death willingly will not live a life worth living”.
  2. You are too kind. Well, doing what I do and spending almost all this year mostly alone, growing myself, I might just be progressing too fast and not letting myself integrate all the new information I receive. My growth was mostly linear until one and a half years ago when it turned exponential. Then, in the past 5 months, it got to increase in orders of magnitude, which becomes really emotionally challenging to integrate.
  3. It's very funny that after you pass through all of this emotional labour, you become far more emotionally tolerant than most people. You become desensitized. Just like when Leo was talking in his videos about some very deep concepts that would scare most people, and he wasn't even blinking when talking about it because he got so used to them. I see how all of this is a necessary part of growth, more so if you strive to be part of the 1% of the 1% of the 1% of people who experience life to it's fullest. If it were easy, anybody would do it.
  4. I have no problem handling them and getting back to a calm place. What I would like is to experience them less often when I am reading and treat the ideas objectively, not like some immediate danger (which happens in almost less then a second, before I can detect it). Also, I do breathe very deeply from the diaphragm. Right now it's hard not to. It's how I breathe all the time because I use it when singing and weightlifting. Thank you for the input!
  5. @Martin123 I wrote my previous comment badly. I mean, what I do when it happens is I become a super conductor. I can handle them. I don't hate them and I don't consider them as negative. It's just that on a practical level, it would help if I would be in a more tranquil place when reading this kind of stuff, which seems pretty hard to do.
  6. @Shin Pranic breathing. Inhale to 5, hold for 5, exhale to 5 until it passes. Then I am ok. I can control them. I can treat them for what they are, but they hinder my work.
  7. I saw that a lot of people are starting to create (mega) topics where they share their art, share music they like (maybe linked to a specific emotion or subject), videos for growth, for inspiration and all kind of different resources. The problem is most of these are scattered through many different subsections of the forum. These topics do not relate to specific problems or questions and I think maybe a dedicated subsection where all of these things could be shared would be a good idea. Also, maybe we could make a poll and vote in favor or not towards this idea. Please give it a thought. Thanks in advance, Leo!
  8. @Voyager I understand. Though no foods are good or bad in and of themselves. For example if I would eat tons of fruits a day, the liver would not be able to process that much fructose. I tend to avoid thinking black and white.
  9. @Voyager Why throw the oats? They are extremely healthy, especially for digestion.
  10. Can't remember where I got this from. Sounds like Tolle though.
  11. @Electron I didn't say you can't try. Just don't commit for 10 years yet. Run experiments. Make an 18 month goal and compare the goal with the actual results you will have generated. Through that experiment observe things like: the level of effortlesness in doing the actual thing the amount of joy the activity brings you if you have peers on the same path, compare your progress to theirs in order to detect a natural talent at it (the opposite can also be the case) how inspired you are on a day to day basis pursuing that willingness to push past hurdles One thing you can do right now is to create a vision with you at the TOP. Like really at the top of the field, receiving whatever prize is worth having in that field or making a breakthrough discovery. If that vision doesn't make you cry or at least tear up a little, either the vision is not big enough or it's not what you really want. When I picture myself on one of the biggest stages in the world, exuding god like power through a musical instrument, seeing everybody there celebrating the beauty of music. existence, and the way people can relate on an unspoken level through music, I can't help but tear up, every goddamn time. Create a very vivid picture of where you want to get, and get in touch with that.
  12. Before you do anything, take even one year or two to really figure out if that is what you really want to do for the rest of your life. One of the greatest regrets you can have in life is the regret that you became a master at the wrong things. Also, try to distinguish your affinity for the subject with your actual abilities. If you aren't naturally gifted with numbers, don't go that route. You can only build on strength, not on weakness - and it's much easier to make the transition from great to exceptional than from mediocre to average. I'm not trying to talk you out of it. Not at all. I encourage you to pursue that path if you can become one of the best in that field. But if not, look elsewhere. Other good questions to ask are: Does it match the lifestyle you want to have? Can you make it match with the lifestyle you wanna have?
  13. @Jordan wang You are on a high spree. The low always comes afterward. You are savoring your victories. Nothing wrong with that. But if you are not careful, you'll get blindsided real hard when shit hits the fan (and it always does, eventually). You are starting to do the right things, but don't get too cocky. Treat the seasons right. Life is cyclical in nature. It's summer for you right now. It's time to harvest the rewards. But don't forget winter will also come soon enough. Will you be prepared when it hits? Only one bad incident is enough to throw your life off track. Worst part is, most of the times you can't predict it. Confidence is a good thing, but don't let it turn into arrogance. Until you give a TED talk or appear in a newspaper, you ain't got shit. Also, seeking for validation shows you haven't done nearly enough inner work... Come back in 5 years and talk to us.
  14. @AnnettaHaha, thanks, but it's too cheesy. @Captain Flint Very interesting. Dan Cormac is leading with 2 points. There is also a tie between Dan Arnaud/Dan Arthur/Dan Aedan/Dan Raven and Dan Arnăutu at 1 point each. Very hard to decide omg. Might try all of them until one sticks. Otherwise I might go into paralysis by analysis, haha.
  15. I didn't say it was not, haha. I'm gonna think about that.
  16. @Preetom As soon as college exams are over, I'm gonna start. (actually, I kind of started already, looking for intro templates, topics, models, building a website, figuring out how to record properly etc.) Those topics are really good to cover! Noted! I promise I will come back with a link to the first video which will be a manifesto! Gotta keep accountable, right?
  17. Hi! I was thinking about documenting my journey of becoming a pro guitarist, musician and guitar teacher. The reasons are twofold. FIrstly, I was thinking that might show others my age that it is possible to start from scratch and build a successful music career no matter your circumstances and secondly, I would like to look back at these videos 10-20-30 years from now, so why not share them with the public? Things I would like to share: Tips on getting your mindset right and removing limiting beliefs regarding the music industry The process of building a succesful guitar teaching business The process of building a succesful music career Health tips, as most musicians are in very bad health condition (I have a lot of knowledge in this field as in the past I wanted to become a certified personal trainer) Others topics that don't come to mind right now. My sole intention is to give value and create something that I can look back to. I don't want to become a youtube celebrity or make money out of it, although equipment endorsments could come out of this. I'm not in it for that. I really want to help people. This could also be a way to keep me accountable to my purpose and prevent me from slacking off. What do you think? Also feel free to share your story if you want to start your own vlog.
  18. @Loreena Omg, thank you for taking the time to think about all those! I'm gonna compare them soon!
  19. @Jordan wang 1. Why do you want to become a billionaire? Isn't 100 million dollars enough for you? Do you want to buy a continent? 2. You are talking about mediocre girls when you are still a virgin. 3. Dating is an aspect of personal development. 4. You have the misconsception that social status plays 90% in attraction when in fact it amounts to maybe 5%. 5. If you begin to date only after you become ”the perfect guy”, you still won't have the experience necessary to seduce a hot girl, hence why you should practice now, while developing your other skills. 6. Observe how you look at friendships in a transactional way. 7. You may be unique in some way, but no more unique than every other human being. A CEO is not worth more (existentially) than a bum on the street.
  20. What makes you so sure?
