  1. I am with you there. Intense suffering such as that which we inflict on the billions of animals we slaughter as well as to each other is utterly disgraceful and totally unacceptable. Sadly our contributions to stop it are meaningless as suffering and horrors unimaginable exist on other planets in other galaxies and even in other universes. I believe that the extent of suffering is infinite and the suffering we create and experience here is nothing compared to the depravity god creates elsewhere.
  2. That's why suffering is especially useful for people interested in spirituality because then you can really understand it as you say. True compassion is not possible unless you have suffered yourself. I just wish it didn't exist in such extremes as it does though. The vast majority of people do not grow from suffering and for animals it's a different issue altogether. From my perspective, I find the way things are, tragic and farcical.
  3. That's the biggest problem, nonduality becomes just like religion with all its different ideas and interpretations. You can get out of this hole, it is possible for you. It has taken me over two months from waking up in the morning in terror to more or less normalcy. Please do not go and watch Leo's god videos until you are really ready as they will do you a lot of harm. You can watch the Rupert Spira video about solipsism and that helped me a lot. Hell, even go and watch videos of Bob Ross painting, they aren't even about spirituality yet are very calming. I hope it all works out for you.
  4. Whenever I see any word in my surroundings, I automatically hear/read it in my head and this gets in the way of my mindfulness at work and in daily life. Is it actually possible to look at a word in your native language and not read/hear it, as if an English speaking person were to look at Arabic?
  5. In my case it is usually lost and forgotten then I have to get another one Anyway, thanks everyone for your responses, some good stuff to apply here.
  6. Maybe I am to a certain extent, but when I die, I hope he has a good excuse.
  7. Here's a guy who's brain still exists!
  8. You should go and have a talk with ISIS, they might learn something from you. Maybe you can transmit some of your lovely presence to them and end a bit of suffering. You may want to take a carrier bag with you though. The point I am making is that everything is happening now, all the joys and sufferings and as the compassionate people we supposedly are, we should do all we can.
  9. I totally get that suffering can create growth in the right conditions, it has even helped me but if god had more common sense than me, it would have not went to the bother and just rested in peace not manifesting anything.
  10. It's perfectly easy for most people to accept the now when not too much is going on, but someone releases a hungry tiger into the room? Where's your damn acceptance then?
  11. Then god is just sicker than 10 trillion Hitlers. I am deeply sickened and ashamed to have been created by such a monster. Sure, said monster has created such incredible beauty too, but I will never dismiss the suffering like you have. Nope, I will do all I can to help others, I will not trap myself inside a sugar coated spiritual bubble.
  12. I sadly do not understand myself how consciousness creates the appearance of separation but my idea, which is probably wrong, is that consciousness is a master shape shifter as Leo said. It assumes the form of everything, every atom and subatomic particle. The more physicists look for matter the less of it they find which seems to confirm that consciousness is primary. A few quantum physicists have even said that they regard consciousness as fundamental. But all of this is just mental gymnastics which is best avoided at the moment. Try just living as normal and be present with this emotion until it calms down.
  13. If I knew I created all of that shit, I would stop creating all that shit.
  14. I feel nothing but pity for you people.
  15. Oh well, since I am not the one being tortured and beheaded, I guess life for everyone is just peachy perfect then, isn't it? I am not denying the existence of god, I never once said that, I am just pointing out that god is sick and or indifferent beyond all comprehension.
  16. Let's just hope you never have to endure some intense suffering because then you will know exactly what I mean. It's one thing to sit at your computer spouting spiritual platitudes about suffering until it really happens to you. THEN it isn't funny. Not all of us have the level of consciousness required to be happy when our leg is hanging off.
  17. Does someone getting beheaded by ISIS choose that perspective or are we all just going to sit in our comfortable homes and deny that suffering is real?
  18. If you look at a screen inside a CCTV operators room, you will see many images. You and your girlfriend respectively are just like like one of the images on that screen. The only reality to the images is the screen just like the only reality to all of experience is consciousness. Yes, we are all illusions but to all illusions there is a reality. The reality of the illusion of distant water in a desert is light. I hope this helps somewhat,
  19. I did. BIG mistake.
  20. The best thing you can do for yourself right now is drop all mental masturbation because that's basically what all of this is. Try and see if you can get back with your girlfriend and go out somewhere nice together. As Rupert Spira said, "love is the recognition of our shared being" With that new understanding, your relationship with her might actually deepen. Once you feel stronger you can try different meditations if you haven't done so already.
  21. The exact same thing happened to me and I totally understand what you are going through. Leo's video called "what is god" sent me into a dark solipsistic hell hole from which I have not yet escaped fully from. Yes, nobody exists as any separate physical entity it is just one consciousness interacting with itself, but your finite mind is not the only finite mind. The ideas Leo peddles here are dangerous and go against compassion and respect for others. Why be kind and respectful if all that exists is just you and your mind? Go and read the nature of consciousness by Rupert Spira, although it is a bit unsettling, it's not nearly as nihilistic and dark as the stuff here and actually helped me. I am sorry to say it but I think Actualized.org has turned into a cult and it's only a matter of time before somebody commits suicide. Leo's recent videos have fucked with my head and now I am just going through the motions of life like a dead program. Please correct me everyone if I have totally got the wrong perspective on this?
  22. Imagine you get acid thrown in your face. Present moment or not, it's going to hurt. Suffering is very real unless you have the zen master level of consciousness required to completely detach from it.
  23. Scratching is pleasurable because the itch goes away. Eating past being full just causes suffering so I don't do it. I only tell people I love them when I know they love me back Feels good for a bit and then the pool is too cold.
  24. Leo has done nothing wrong. The sweatshop workers don't exist so they can not be harmed.
  25. No, I can tell the two apart distinctly.
