It's the opposite - absolute consciousness and clarity. Well Im still here so that's not how it went. As I explained there is a weighing of options that plays out over several long minutes and with that aforementioned clarity I realize there is nowhere else I would rather be and I am already doing exactly what I want. -

The lesson of religion is don't make a religion out of anything because all religion is fucking stupid. -

Some time after ego submission when Im laughing off physical death...I dont know how to properly explain it...but basically its like "are ya ready to go?" Like I know I can die right there and move into a world of my own creation without a hitch. Towards the end of every big shroom trip I take there are points where my breathing is drastically slowed to a point where I have not taken a breath for a solid two minutes and Ill get some kind of signal that if I want to...erm..leave, just dont take another breath. No pain, no fear, no angst. If I want to stay, just breathe. In every scenario Im called back because it actually feels more exciting to me to finish off and become the hero of this human story. Like the pay off for staying will be just rewarding as anything else I could dream of and this is always accompanied by a sense of everything being perfect and I am already precisely where I want to be, doing exactly what I want and need to do. Then god pats me on the head and salutes my perseverance, courage and strength. I feel its worth noting that in studies of suicide survivors, bridge jumpers in particular, their immediate first thought after leaping is more or less "I made the wrong decision here". They instantly regret trying to kill themselves while in the act. Here's what I would say - if its just going to be a pity party and add to the misery (which there is already enough of) then find a way to keep going because in some way you would be forsaking the gift and you definitely don't to step into the abyss of eternity with a bitch heart and subservient bitch mentality. -

Being completely fucked is not without value because some truths only emerge when there is nothing left to do and nowhere to run. Suffering leads to wisdom and wisdom leads to evolution. The goal is not to spare yourself the horror or save yourself from the suffering - nor is it to be redeemed so as to return to perfect bliss - the goal is to make the suffering of existence productive - to use it to give substance to the fluff that is you in order to forge your soul and liberate your spirit. -

If there was no threat of hell I would have blown my fuckin head off a long time ago. Another part of me says there's nothing to lose because there's nothing to save. I don't really believe any of that but just in case this experience is not just an accidental absurdity but rather a gift given in good faith through good will by a living transcendence of pure freedom and infinitely exquisite and boundless joy that holds a promise too marvelous to be imagined, it might be worth sticking around to see it through. So that's what I hang my hat on these days. -

We're speaking the same language whether you are cognizant of it or not. You can go beyond the system but you cant bring the beyond back with you to give to anyone else. So all the great teachers and philosophers of the past and present are just a bunch of clueless hacks who don't have a clue and never did? It could also be undebatable evidence that there is no logical proof. Just go ask the atheists for their thoughts on the matter, they love to remind everyone what logic has to say about the existence of god. Logic and the pondering of the mysteries has been around since the hills were young and some very great minds have weighed in on the topic of Being and they all pretty much say this shit can't be grasped if you're clutching your ego and using its logic to understand something that, by definition, is completely illogical. Edit: Yes, science and its logic does indeed say its a miracle life exists except they don't call it a miracle. -

And reasoning very much asserts that you can't approach the divine through logic and the evidence for that is that it's never been done. If that's not enough evidence for you, I dont know what to tell you. Logic is a branch of science or a science unto itself. According to scientific logic nothing should exist but nevertheless we are here anyway by total fluke and coincidence thanks to complex life forming by pure happenstance for no reason at all. -

What are my options lol? No one can explain the big bang logically but they still wont call it a miracle. Reasoning only takes you so far and then something else thats not reasoning has to take over. If you disagree, I can live with that. -

Are you offering to rationally and logically explain how I am not a drop in the ocean but the ocean in a drop? Because Im pretty sure that metaphor was employed because such a thing cannot be grasped by the logical mind - only the mind capable of going beyond logic. -
Willy Phallicus replied to Monster Energy's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
On the contrary I see logic for the illusion that it is. Its a barrier I put there so I would know the mystery exists so I would be tempted to go beyond logic and tackle the mystery. Im using logic to express myself, not the other way around. I can tell you the divine exists, I can't prove it to you logically. Oh well, lol at me I guess. I guess after 5000 years of spiritual discourse we'll have the logic to pwn atheists and non believers any minute now seeing as its just undiscovered logic no one has thought of yet as opposed to being non existent in the first place. Think of all the centuries thinkers and readers have wasted on philosophy when the simple logic of gods existence and nature was there the whole time. Im saying if logic could explain it then it would have explained it already. Its illogical to think otherwise. Ironic, eh? -

Since nothing is impossible and you're the author of that script if that's how you want to play it then that's how it will play out. You're perfectly free and perfectly free to choose. Whatever you decide is possible will become your dream. I admit, its really tough to reconcile things like this is literally a conversation you are having with yourself and that the people in my dream are just dreams Im dreaming of having their own dreams which are also my dreams since there is only one dreamer when you are looking at it through the prism of human consciousness. -

Discussing it with logic and explaining it with logic are two different things. If logic worked you would have gotten answers to your questions in two or three posts and it would be /thread. It's not like we haven't dug up the right scroll yet - we haven't found the logic because it doesn't exist and everyone knows it. So its not easy or hard - its impossible. When you're dealing with the impossible you gotta rise to meet it and there's no way to interpret the impossible through your run of the mill rational discourse. The divine is not rational or irrational, its meta-rational. Your only recourse is through metaphor. What you're pointing too is beyond human existence and thus human language and human understanding. It cannot be described - only sensed/felt/experienced. Divine infinity can be understood intellectually. That's why guru is good work if you can get it. But knowing of it and knowing thyself are still two different things and one cannot impart knowing through logic/language alone. Its a guide to the answer not an answer unto itself. -

If logic could touch the divine there would be nothing to discuss as logic would have worked it all out already. -

Whatever you want to be "real" is what will be "real". You tell yourself they're having their own experience and poof! They're telling you about all the experiences they are having and you have no reason to doubt them as you see people having their own experiences and you are living your own experience which is their experience and vice versa. Its a hall of mirrors. Your dreams are having their own dreams and their dreams are as real to them as your dream is to you. The whole infinitely powerful god thing in action. Nothing is off the table - including pretending you're not alone, which you most definitely are. From the level we are communicating 'paradox' is the only way we "humans" can look at it but while the you can't square the circle in this dimension there are higher dimensions where all such paradoxes resolve themselves. Then don't waste your time hating anyone because its just you hating yourself and you're doing that out of love anyway so don't take life so seriously. This place is a clusterfuck but maybe rightfully so. -

It might start there but when the Infinite is part of the equation(is the equation) linear logic and linear thinking are useless. The reality is profound and it requires a profound depth of mind to contemplate it. The old logic which the humans have always employed when pondering the mysteries is trite and insufficient. No one can give the OP what they are looking for. -

That thing you want to know cannot be apprehended by logical thinking. A whole new faculty is required. -

Order and chaos are dual aspects of one reality. Order is inherent within chaos and chaos always lurks within all ordered systems. Order is rigid, chaos is amorphous. Order is affirmative, chaos is negation. Order without chaos is pure abstraction, chaos without order is unmanifest nothing. The dynamic between chaos and order is known as the dialectic... -
Willy Phallicus replied to Monster Energy's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Come on now. Know Thyself means you know. Human vs God is a fluid dynamic without any obvious line of demarcation between the poles - its fuzzy. -

Fully? No. Not while you're occupying a meatsuit. You can get the occasional taste in the meantime however. If you haven't experienced the reality then to you its just a story. -

Some people have found truth through pleasure although that probably wasn't there intention. There are plenty of tales of people finding the infinite through orgasm or looking into the eyes of their newborn child and so on. So would excruciating physical pain. Agreed, 100%. Ego death is a myth. It just completely submits when dad is in the room. -
Willy Phallicus replied to Monster Energy's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
If its just asking then you don't have to ignore anything. Some might posit that in the throes of pleasure or pleasure seeking you are avoiding the truth in some way but that's more spiritual dogma than concrete reality. Suffering is a terrific catalyst for truth seeking and discovery without a doubt but it's not the only way. -

The figment of something else's dream. Human is the pattern that the dreamer has conjured. There's no separation between rock and baby but there are plenty of differences (once the mind starts applying labels). I don't know where souls fit into that equation. There's no shortage of paradoxes however. -
