I misread your post. What you said made a lot of sense. I was just trying to explain my post further.

The Bible is a book of stories, parables and poetry. You approach the bible through logic and that is where you fail. You are supposed to look beyond the words when reading scripture. I have read so many Christian mystics and I have read the Bible through lectio divina (divine seeing) and what Leo Gura talks about when it comes to nonduality matches what the mystics say and my Bible reading and contemplation. I know Leo has his issues with scriptures. They are fallible and works of human hands. I am broad minded and learn from all the other mysticisms. I just like the love flavour of Christianity best. They are all frameworks and God is ineffable. I am all about abiding with the Cosmos.

Mystical Christians see Jesus as a symbolic guide. In contemplative prayer they realise that everything is God anyway.I see Jesus as a pointer not a man to worship. Even in the bible when people were calling him good he rejected it and said only God is good. I agree that most Christians are fucked because they take Jesus as a God-man and believe in a Triune God. Meister Eckhart saw beyond the Triune God in is tradition and was able to see God as the ground of being itself . That is the fault of religion. I know Christianity won't lead to God realisation but it is a great platform for non-duality and I enjoy the relational aspects of it.

I don't really agree with the posts on Christianity. Christianity is about relationship. Besides that the Christians see God has being within us and outside of us. God is transcendent and immanent. There is a true self and the false self. The true self is God and the false self is the ego. Who we really are is the true self.

I dont agree with Leo. Not all Christians see Jesus as God. They call themselves Unitarians. Mystics like Meister Eckhart see God as the ground of Being.

Hello Everyone. I created this thread to discuss Christian mysticism with people who are interested with this tradition of mysticism. To share ideas, knowledge, insights, techniques and mostly importantly wisdom. I have read a few books on Christian mysticism and I read the Bible as much as I can. Thanks Everyone.

My favourite verse is Psalm 46:10 - Be still and know that I am God. These videos are very interesting. I have heard of A Course In Miracles, I havent read it yet.

At first I thought he was just a troll. The guy is a dangerous individual every one has to be wary of.

I am not American and I don't fit into the left wing or right wing. This is a cruel cold blooded murder. This is not something to celebrate. The American citizens need to reflect on what they want USA to be. The left-right polarisation is not cutting it. The lessons and insights that Leo put in his Conscious politics need to be learned and embodied. This situation can lead to war and these would not allow for a conducive environment for self actualisation. The way I see it, we are in this world to love. To even love people we despise and dislike. Consciousness is very important. We need to treasure it like a pearl of great price. -
True belief isn't just a belief. My interpretation is that it means an inner knowing. It is not mere belief like a fundamentalist. This is more profound and intuitive than that.

I have only shared it with a relative that was open minded enough. He wasn't really into it. In this phase of my life, I would only point actualized.org out to a person who is hungry for truth and wants to do research. What Leo teaches are pure jewels and you cant give these to swine.

Dayo replied to Mmartinez's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Mmartinez. Start with basic self help. If you need coaching and therapy, go and do that too. Leo is teaching advanced personal development and spirituality right now. You need to go deep for a few years and be on a journey of self discovery before you start questioning and diving deep into what Leo is talking about these days . -
Psychedelics are a great way. I prefer the route of meditation and retreats. Sure it would be slower, but I trust myself when I am not taking any chemicals.

Neoplatonism is an awesome way of approaching spirituality because it sees God as Reality instead of a Supreme Being separate from its creation as proposed by the Abrahamic faiths. Atheism is afraid of any notion of God, so it provides a road block for people who are serious about spirituality. I saw the blog post about the atheist spiritual director. I first heard of her when she was on John Vervaeke's channel a few weeks ago.

You need a morning and evening routine that would allow you to do your spiritual and self actualisation work

Using the tools that have been successful in getting data in the physical world to gain knowledge about the nonphysical world and paranormal phenomena is absurd. You need subjectivity (first person experience to tackle this. The tools of phenomenology, meditation, mysticism etc to tackle this issues. Your intuitive side needs to be developed. A lot of you guys have been studying Leo's videos for years but you don't understand that you are literally God's temple, and you can tap answers from within you. You can know more than a lot of scientists that have locked themselves in the limiting paradigm of materialistic science and are too chicken to be visionary scientists.

The problem with Christianity is that the process of inner transformation (contemplative practices) is not widespread and is limited to monastics and students of monastics and their organizations like Contemplative Outreach and Center for Action and contemplation etc. Buddhism doesn't have that problem so the Buddhists are more "conscious" in that sense. These are just my opinions and I am willing to change them.

Yeah, what they say resonates with me. The pick up stuff wasn't authentic to me. Glad to be friends with you.
-
Are you familiar with Mr. Locario, Steve the dean, Real game no theory panel. You are saying the stuff those guys say on their shows.
-
I like the podcast a lot. I listen to as much as I can. I recommend it because it will expose you to ideas, ways of thinking and tools to understanding your mind and how you operate in the world.

Lex Fridman is good. I have been listening to his podcasts for the past few weeks. He seems very open minded.

Guy you are not doing any spiritual work and you expect to make sense to what Leo is saying. There better ways to spend. You can waste your life debating about this. It is yours not mine
-
There are so many fields out there you can't expect Leo to have all those books especially technical books. You will need to know your niche and domain of mastery and do your personal research.
