  1. you can check out thijme Termaat, not sure if he is enlightened, but his painting have definitly metaphysical content, which is kind of interesting.
  2. Sometimes I feel they do it, because they themselves struggle to find happiness and making your children happy is easier..
  3. We have had better childhoods than our parents, but a worse adulthood (less agency and purpose at the workplace. I dream big and don't even realize that I am lazy. I want to change the world, but I am afraid of conflict and hate to lead others.
  4. @Blackhawk its also interesting how anti vaxxers seem to be so present on social media like twitter. I have more and more the feeling that actually smart & good people just use way less social media, maybe because they don't have the time or maybe because they don't feel the need to get their opinion affirmed by some internet mob. Anyways what annoys me is that anti vaxxers, and similar groups often get the feeling they represent the majority, just because their have their giant circle jerk on social media, but they don't realize how many people actually disagree with them, but just don't bother to answer or comment. People talk about echo chambers but honestly its not a chamber its almost the whole platform. Have you had similar observations?
  5. there are even enough anti vaxxers on this forum, which honestly surprises me a bit.
  6. @Purple Man vaccine does reduce infencting others. its just like 60% reduced. But with a third shot this could go up. You even said it yourself, transmissability corelates with symptoms. Well guess what, vaccines reduces the symptoms of covid if you do get it. Second, if you don't trust mRNA vaccins, you can take one of the others. + since when are vaccines evil and dangerous? you probably got vaccinated a dozen times already. Vaccines that got allowed with the same amount of clinical trials. Third, if you worried about long term effects of vaccins, why aren't you worried about long term effects of covid, which are also unknown and evidence is coming out that it can even lead to alzheimer. Fourth, i don't think there is anything wrong with trying to reduce deaths caused by the flu, with asking people to wear a mask on public transport. Fith, if you don't like lockdowns, you should like vaccines, because they are our best chance to reduce covid deaths without a lockdown.
  7. i have some friends who like joe rogan and they are not alone. People think we are one step from fascism and that the gopvernment is evil. The government needs a better image...its better than some think.
  8. lol, I hope he starts regretting that he did not get vaccinated and will talk about it on his podcast. This will do wonders to convince some, if papa rogan gives the ok.
  9. @Roy I actually said that this doesn't change anything, because this is a common opinion among Leo and other people on the forum, who think in terms of spiral dynamics. Personally I dont know. Most people do nothing for the climate and forget their morals as soon as they want something. Then it has to be cheap and easy. This won't change that quickly. So government measures is the only thing that really maters. I agree that most people use this as an excuse to not think about climate change ("nothing can be done anyway"), but in some way they are right. Just because you became a climate messiah with 0 carbon footprint will not change the behavior of people around the world. The behavior of people around the world will change when their old behavior becomes illegal.
  10. Maybe individual efforts are indeed important, I mean climate change will be a long battle and you learn behaviors by watching others , And at some point we will need to learn to control our consumption anyways, maybe not as much as he does, but to a certain extant.
  11. I think you feel sad for losing friends. That is evolutionary one of the main causes of sadness, since sadness is supposed to bring you back closer to your friends and loved ones. I am not sure if Leo really knows this process, of loosing many friends due to spiritual evolution. This is something especially young people who are maybe even in shool when they watch actualized.org, would struggle with. I am not sure if Leo had that many friends to start with. This is not anything against him, since I love what he does, but it is tough this process of losing friends due to spiritual evolution. I don't really have any answers for you. I myself managed to kept some friendships alive, but the difference in consciousness definitly creates a kind of gap. You can relate with them, but they cannot relate with you anymore.
  12. I like him a lot. He is very pragmatic and inspiring. But you know. He is just a stage green dreamer, who will not change anything, cause the solution to climate change will never consist of individual efforts like his. hehe
  13. Could you love your life, even if your ego was dying / ill / Badly injured?
  14. I am curious, what Leo thinks of his younger self (older in thinking) ... what do you guys think
  15. @Epikur racism is not only about numbers (not even systemic racism). It can be about forgiveness, history, support, love.
  16. @Gesundheit I think a black man can also be racist. Racism is a social phenomena and not an individual one. Besides racism is often subconcious (would not believe that a black man is conciously racist).
  17. Interesthing thread! A lot of different opinions.. and what if we just don't really know how bad (or not bad) climate change is going to be? Usually science will never admit one claim, and that is that they don't know. But I am also someone obsessing over the future. I think about my personal future a lot, I think about the future of my nation and the global future. It is definitly one of my hobbies: the future, so interesting. I do really hope a lot of people take climate change seriously and try to find solutions. There really are a lot of solutions, technical, social, practical, spiritual. Anyones lifepurpose towards climate change?
  18. Did you treat it like a problem that has a simple solution or a problem that has a complex solution? (if the question is wrong, pls also explain)
  19. Can you be sure of something? Can you trust something? (just a question)
  20. how do you decide on the things you want in life (even if it is enlightenment), if you cannot be sure of it?
  21. Do you think the future will happen, or is the future nothing more than a thought?
  22. I@seeking_brilliance I would say I do it for both. There is definitely some motivation to solve an immediate problem, but since it won't be solved so quickly, I mainly do it because for some ideologic concept of future. When thinking I definitly care the future. I kind of believe it will happen, it will affect somebody, the same way we are experiencing the good things people in the past have done for the future. It would definitly fuck my brain, if this wan't true haha
  23. So most of you guys say the future is just a concept, an illusion, but then I wonder if you should care about the future. Like all the people who work their whole life, so that their children can have a better life in the future. Everything we try to do against climate change. Everything we do to progress, as a society. Will the future be experienced, like I am experiencing this time? If not, why would you care about it?
  24. The problem of censorship is also much more complicated. Of course mass censorship is wrong, but I am also not sure what you mean by that. Some form of censorship is probably necessary for society. With new technologies come also new challenges and I think social media has made it a big challenge to feed people quality information.
