Yes, i mean for me the main goal of meditation is dissociating myself a bit from the ego. Everything that increases stress response (adrenaline) will revive and intensify habitual patterns. Very mental people, with a tendency to OCD, to rumination, are rich in adrenaline (or histamine...) Yes, because it presses the accelerator pedal of your ego, so it takes you out of learned helplessness.
