  1. Another counterintuitive move is to seriously contemplate what your values are. It’s a tough pill to swallow — honestly coming to realize how selfish your values actually are. The good news is that, coming to terms with this, you’ll no longer be lead down the garden path. Now you’ll be lead up the path towards healing and developing more holistic values.
  2. I’ve dated plenty of people in a wounded state. They’d all inevitably end up in heartbreak. What’s gotten me off that abusive cycle is acceptance. Now I am in a beautiful relationship that’s built upon the foundation of acceptance
  3. I had a relative call me an a**hole one time. What I suppose what was really meant is that I’m an ascetic…! On a positive note, he did apologize about calling me that a decade later
  4. You create the meaning and the purpose for your life. Identity is not inherently a bad thing, unless that is the purposeless meaning you assign to it.
  5. For the same reason I say “I Love You” at the peak of my trip
  6. @koops “There is no right or wrong answer, and each individual must weigh the potential benefits and harm before making a decision.” Brilliant!
  7. I identify as trans, but I am well aware that even that is a bias.
  8. Ironically, I am in the process of legally changing my name and need to pay the costs for a fingerprint card and court fees
  9. @Nivsch i will contemplate on that more, thank you
  10. I would be mindful of the brand you buy it from. Heard melatonin supplements can be contaminated with serotonin, so maybe a higher quality brand tests for it more accurately, but who really knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  11. I can feel the pain of this war from both sides. Not just one. Imagine a child watching their mother and father arguing constantly. Which side does the child choose?
  12. I don’t equate what terrorist organizations are doing compared to governments. However, it is important to realize that all sides are expressing hate one way or another, to different degrees.
  13. Kind of like how Hitler felt the need to clean his nation. Hatred never wins in the long-term.
  14. What is most important is turning inward and observing how we blame ourselves. Not running away from pain, but actually feeling it and understanding it.
  15. Have you tried melatonin supplements?
  16. @Butters congrats! How long have you been off cigarettes?
  17. Treating addiction long-term requires forgiveness and self-acceptance, both of which take time to develop. This does not come from an act of punishment, but rather, from a place of maturity and wisdom.
  18. https://www.verywellhealth.com/pfas-blood-testing-8550496 As you may have heard, the CDC has given updated guidelines regarding testing for PFAS, especially for those who are more exposed to it (e.g. industrial workers, firefighters). I personally used to drink tap water that was recently discovered to be contaminated with PFAS. Probably been drinking contaminated water for decades. Do any of you plan on getting your levels tested? Would love to hear your results. Quest labs in the US now offers PFAS testing, but it costs $300 out-of-pocket…
  19. I will allow myself to express myself more when this occurs again… I was definitely suppressing it last night, which is very silly because I live by myself so it’s not like I could freak out my roommates or anything like that. It’s amazing how much irrational fear we live in as humans.
