  11. 😭😭 — The rec center is owned by the state of Texas/Trump. After the rec center manager denied me, I sent an email to our city manager and advocated for the rights of disabled individuals, and for myself. I am still waiting for their responses. I am a law-abiding citizen, even if I disagree with it. Texas still doesn’t believe that trans women exist in society legally, so I have to mask as a man in certain contexts as a survival measure. I was curious how bad the new laws against me were, so I inquired to the rec center about my rights and where I am able to go. They denied me access to the women’s spaces, as I predicted. There is an exemption to the new law, however, that allows me to go into women’s spaces as long as I am accommodating a person, such as an autistic or disabled individual (in this case @Beans). And yet they still denied me. Now I am serious. I do not plan on joining the rec center, but I do care about standing up for my rights as a human being, and protecting the rights of other disabled individuals from discrimination, hence why I didn’t just silently walk away from abuse and discrimination. This is my way of resistance training. New me, and I ain’t fucking around. 😼
