What do you mean with level of consciousness? I'm aware of different states of consciousness and consciousness is definitely fluid. I figure you are relating it with how a rat cannot surpass his own genetic level of consciousness. But isn't being a human a construction you can break from anyway? The human may not have full control over such things but existence being human is another thing. Why should existence have any limits whatsoever regarding higher consciousness? I'm not getting this restrictions you are setting, probably you assume some context that is not clear to me. I don't have any direct experience with non-human creatures that would make classic humans look like ants. I get it, but what is limiting the level of consciousness for such rats if they wanted to get cat-like levels of consciousness?

What is higly conscious? You left it half-cooked, otherwise don't tease

Of course, that's what I was trying to point out. It is practically imposible to not give others an experience you wouldn't want or they wouldn't; as you claim morality is all about. You can strive to do it, as far as you care to do so. That's all. Where you draw the line is the whole point you overlooked and I was pointing how by the same axioms you derived, people draw the line in different places. Moreover, to actually always be aligned with this noble axioms is impossible as you have just said and then pointed some examples of people striving for such impossibility. Of course not. Surviving as a finite thing inflicts pain to other finite things, that's how it is. Has nothing to do with ignorance Already did, in this thread: - - - Whatever, it seemed more that you wanted to be right rather than inquiring into Truth. I can sense it, the way you answered and presented things, it just doesn't put the focus on Truth but just wants to somehow point blindspots and then be right. I just care about Truth. Even if you are right you may not have the Truth. -

What is even enlightenment at this point? It's such a constructed notion. What do you want? Truth, consciousness, presence, unity, love, no self, intelligence, infinity... Things like that, but enlightenment? makes no sense to me anymore. You wouldn't know about enlightenment if humans hadn't told you, but you would be conscious anyway! -

I would like to share how I found Leo and my first Awakenings. All my life I had been searching Truth, compulsively and almost obsessively, that was my way of life. Nevertheless, I always felt lost despite deeply researching religion, science and philosophy. In the covid lockdown, an interesting video popped out in my feed: What is Truth? The definitive answer. So I watched it and one hour in I said: "Leo you are full of shit" closed the computer and left. But that video was eating me alive inside my mind, couldn't sleep properly and next morning I continued watching the episode. While I was listening to him I suddenly had my first epiphany in life, it was such a profound experience that it changed my life inside out, it felt like I literally broke a spell. From this mystical experience all the work that I had done in philosophy, religion and science, in the pursuit of truth, made sense for the first time. Like the raising sun now I could see clearly all around me. By that time I discovered Sri Anandamayi Ma and thanks to her I had my second epiphany. This one was so huge I blissed out non stop for months, I thought I solved life, but bliss slowly left. I was just so intense into this work that I don't know how I managed to keep my human life and get into university. So close I was to renounce the world and go for Truth full time or die in the attempt. In that regard my uncle, who is a renowned psychologist, and Leo's video on self help were instrumental. Thanks to Leo I also discovered Psychedelics which to this day I feel they are a gift from God. I feel so lucky to have been born after Leo because I know all that it would have taken me to discover for myself what he already shared with us. Deep down I know I would have made it, at least very far, but it just makes my path much easier. Leo genuinely has saved me years of trial and error. Maybe I would still be compulsively searching for the Truth with no results but frustration. -
What an epic title! The moment to face yourself my friend My first trip: Interesting trips: My last words on Malt:

“Only you exist, you and you alone. Truly I am contained in everything. Again, you are indeed That Itself. In all infinity is God and no other - I alone am. . . God alone Is; therefore, God itself speaks to itself for the sake of His own revelation. On the surface and in the deepest depths is none but God. In movement God is spontaneous movement, although ever remaining motionless, God is in perpetual motion. . .'in IT' everything exists, although there is nothing - one's own true Self, the Self reposing within Itself." ~ Anandamayi Ma

What is an intermediate trap? An incorrect perception of the benefits and drawbacks of an action. I contemplated on the advanced traps inside my Mind and how they work in real time. Here is how I framed it to myself: A Trap is an intelligent and deceptive creature, a parasite you might say, that lives inside your mind feeding from your fears, insecurities and weak spots. Traps in your mind are not static; they have a life of their own, like gremlins or little demons residing within you, yet not separate from you. Advanced traps have some properties: Gravitation is a prominent one. A good trap pulls you in. It's not like there is an inert trap out there and you can fall for it or not; no no no. A good trap calls you, it's a temptation, it sucks you in, it has this gravity around it. Let's say you are a married man with 3 beautiful children and you see a gorgeous women walking in front of you. It calls you, now she stops in your favourite coffe shop, as everyday you enter, you pick your drink and where do you sit? it pulls you again and you sit strategically. Now your eyes cross and there is a spark, she is attracted to you. You feel the rush of chemicals, should you talk to her? She is reading one of your favourite self-help books, why not? it's just for fun, you say to yourself and you start talking and so on so forth. You see? There is a gravitation, like a black hole, the closer you are to it the more intense is its pull, when you enter a particular threshold you are done, not even light can scape. I refer to this as the gravity property and the point of no return, where the pull becomes so strong that you can no longer free yourself, even if you wanted to. You'll have to enter in and get out from the other side, you are mesmerized by such a sexy woman touching your dick, it's a no-return point, you are trapped. Advanced traps are also sticky, it's not only easy to get in, but sometimes also hard to get out. They are messy and confusing, like a brain fog or a trance, it's easier to stay than to get out. Drug addiction is sticky for example. Advanced traps have a persistent quality, you might have been 20 years without a drop of alcohol, you are in a bar and they offer you a beer by mistake, the trap is persistent and is still calling you. Like a snake just because it is dead, just because 20 years have passed: if you touch it, by muscular reflex it can bite you and kill you. Maybe you have seen those videos, don't touch dead snakes that is trap, they can still kill you. In the same way, you might have killed your alcoholic demon 20 years ago but it may still kill you by reflex if it catches you unguard. This deceptive creatures living in your mind can trigger you and they will do it again and again each time they have an opportunity. In a way you have to starve them to dead and still be careful after that. This is what I call the triggering property, it's the first call of a trap, the triggering. Actually see, this not empty theory, you can see the triggering live when a trap inside your mind is tempting you, it's a very specific concrete feeling. Hope you can connect all these preperties with real direct experience, in the same way I have abstracted this properties from real direct experience. I'm sure you can discover more properties and I'll surely discover more. Now I'll like to talk about states of consciousness and traps. Each state of mind has a different tendency toward certain traps. Generally, some states and circumstances are more prone to traps than others, both in general and in specific ways. If you are drunk you may be more likely to be unfaithful but no so likely to cheat on your taxes. In the same way, if you are sick you may be more likely to indulge in self-pity and negative thinking over being unfaithful. Each state of mind presents its own traps, with a greater tendency toward some traps over others. How can we overcome Advanced Mind traps? Ultimately by Consciousness, Intelligence and Wisdom, but practically speaking we can construct protection mechanisms against the more persistent traps for our given psyche. Have you discovered any other properties? I would love to hear your insights about the topic or even critics about my post.

It is so, when I'm in very high conscious state I'm not amoral but actually it's when I'm more integrated, holistic and empathic with everything. I really like the question and the short answer is that I don't know. The long answer is that it might be because of my sense of self. I can't be a devil if what I'm taking advantage of, is what I feel as myself, this kind of short circuits morality. I feel myself in everything and therefore it naturally comes to love myself in everything and to also treat myself with due respect. I see that I'm only hurting myself so therefore I stop hammering my toe finger. But in a way, you get to make your own rules about how you treat yourself so relative morality still holds but given enough consciousness that also feels like it will be seen through in a way I don't quite get yet. -

That's true. I thought it was a good thought experiment anyway Just to think about law from ground zero. Today I just finished a university course on the philosophy of law through the perspective of Schleiermacher and it was extremely interesting. It made me think from the bare bones about what law is and how it connects with sociology, morality, philosophy and spirituality. I was curious to know your thoughts on law from a philosophical standpoint as I have never heard you talk about such tenet despite all your politics and sociology videos. In this line was the thought experiment, I didn't ask you to make a new American constitution yet. You see but that's a commune like style of law, let me explain, it's from the ground up, very individualistic and messy; you can't realistically legislate a country like that. This is the reason why I was particularly asking how you would implement your morality in a lawful way (because it would force you to think in new ways) and that would be an interesting translation from abstract morality/principles into tangible legislation. Before I took this course I never thought about the deep implications law actually has; I just took it for granted. -

That's brilliant but how do you build up law from that? That's the practical applications of our discussion here. Imagine you are the supreme judge of a country and you get to formulate the law according to your understanding. What would the law be like? That's an interesting thought experiment and you see quickly what a complex and nuanced task it actually is. -

What you can control is different from what you "care" to control. Your answers showcase that. The initial axioms are pretty good but Leo really brought up some edge cases you haven't solved. This is using ignorance as an excuse. Ignorantia juris non excusat (Latin for "ignorance of the law excuses not") is a legal principle holding that a person who is unaware of breaking the law may not escape liability for violating that law merely by being unaware. So your answer clearly violates your own axioms 1 and 2 by this fallacy. The point is that there are people who do care about driving killing bugs, a whole religion in fact, Jainism. Who uphold, ahimsa, or non violence, to the extreme. Jains even wear a face mask to prevent the accidental inhalation and killing of insects and usually clean the floor as they walk to avoid stepping any living creature. I cannot post pictures but here you can see in the thumbnail how they live with their face masks and cleaning utensiles. If you wanna learn about the most extreme morality practiced in the world study Jainism. You will see where the rabbit hole of morality leads to and how impractical and impossible it is to actually live by it. Which is to say that most people just live in morality fantasies with gaps as huge as mountains while totally unaware of the contradictions in their everday actions. So I think the following point extrapolates to the rest of your answers which is: one thing is the law, another is what you can do to align with the law and lastly and most important is to what extent you care to do so. For me a big axiom in morality is the eternal tension between the individual and the collective, I understood this concept thanks to Ken Wilber and I think it's foundational to any discussion about morality. -
Ha ha you are stupid! Ha ha you are clever! Ha ha I lo ve you! I don't even know what I'm saying anymore. Just forget that and keep going on with your life. This whole notion of self evaluation for intelligence can be a huge trap. Check into multiple types of intelligence theories. Those IQ tests are really narrow and unintelligent. Just for being here in actualized.org I can tell you have a very special Mind

One of my scariest awakenings was while looking at the mirror I couldn't find my head!!! -
@Leo Gura What a bitter-sweet episode! I quickly grasped the principle, but it took me longer to get the momentum going. There's a subtle mental barrier to contemplating "I am wrong." It was interesting to observe when I finally broke through it. I would have added something about rationality, because when discussing with other people I usually see how they prefer to be right than to be the truthful. You can actually see this in many discussions and whether their value is for truth or for being right. So that distinction and a connection with Truth I think would have added value to the viewer. I also liked you mentioned the nature of religion, I've been studying and practicing comparative religion for some time and I always felt you could have a proper video clarifying the essence of religion, its ramifications, evolution and corruptions; so I was delighted to see you talking about Religion. I'm also interested to hear your opinions on the thorny topic of terrorism, it sounded very interesting and I'm sure I'll learn a new perspective I have never heard about. You also mentioned you were thinking how to facilitate people getting their own answers rather than giving them all the answers. I wanted to encourage you to keep contemplating on that. Some ideas came up: open ended questions at the end like in the last video (what is the ultimate trap in life?) or some kind of thought provoking question you leave in the air. Also you could use the pause to give us homework and when you comeback we discuss the results or something among the lines. I have to say an add popped up in the break, if it was you who put it in that spot I have to say it was sublime, congrats for that because it took me unguarded. You could also make questions and put a 30 second timer to contemplate, with just the question and maybe some music in the background, the logo or something like that; I'm just brainstorming to give you another perspective. Regarding the audience and how to model it, I felt the struggle! It's definetely a challenge and I see how you need some kind of assumptions about who will listen to you when talking. I came up with the following: What about designing some kind of model? Maybe a three personality types of viewers. In the same way you divided the forum, the Self-Actualizer, the Spiritual, the Psychonaut... something among these lines, identify the most prevalent archetypes among your viewers and kind of address ones or the others when talking. Do your own model, this was just a sloppy attempt to illustrate my point. About my core values, to set the record straight, I care about Intelligence, maturity, Truth, Consciousness, Love, God and Infinity, so guide me towards that. If you have to choose between saying something that breaks our friendship but would make me substantially more Conscious, hope it's a no brainer for you. Having said that, your recognition about the audience and your emotive talk also got me emotional. I know there's a lot of potential among us and you really have a great opportunity here, think of it this way, you have the chance to influence the most conscious and developed individuals on earth. This should get you so excited you can't stay sitting in your chair. This is not an exaggeration, your work will produce a ripple effect in all of humanity that you are not aware of, not directly because of you, but because of us. I'm sure you will ace this opportunity; you have lots of jewels around here! In addition, please talk more on how to bridge the existential and the human, because as you might guess by this point, this is something I've struggled with since I was first self-aware. I'm sure this year has been very difficult for you in ways I cannot understand. I know it may sound shallow and juvenile but hope your health gets better man. As I was listening to you, it felt like a legit midlife crisis, very similar to what Jung described as that moment in the life of man that splits it into two halves. I'll quote some sentences from the video which I found brilliant to end this post 30:55 34:08 36:50 2:49:16

Just today, I finished my contemplations! I knew there were still a few more insights left and an hour ago, I exhausted them. It's interesting to see that insights are like a cow, you can milk and milk but then you gotta give them a rest because no matter the effort nothing will come out. So after being satisfied with my work, I logged into YouTube and almost fell off my chair when I saw a new video... On Monday! This is getting too wild Leo What's gonna be next? A video on Thursday!??

Yes, it's good. But you also need practice and accuracy. There are different types of sprays. The ones that work for multiple oponents can also spray you if there is wind against you and they don't have much range. The ones with foam have longer range but just work with one oponent and accuracy is harder. There are many variables but it's true that hands down an spray is one of the best self-defence options. Also the laws are very light even for misuse as they are designed to be very painful and shocking in the moment but benign next morning.

The art of reducing conflict instead of making it worse. Most of the times people don't search problems, good de-escalation skills will end up most situations with no conflict. They already made up the decision to assault you before interacting with you and they are just searching an excuse to start the confrontation. In this case, de-escalation didn't work; why? Because you didn't have many options to begin with because they already took the decision to assault you. They literally got out of home with the decision made to have an altercation. This happens, particularly among violent groups.

Maybe you would benefit from it Civilized alien! You should hop into a cage and brawl with another monkey, while screaming "ooh ooh" "ah ah" and furiously beating your chest in a display of primal dominance.

@OBEler lmao that trip video made me high just by watching Definitely you shouldn't trip like a maniac but it can be an extremely life transforming experience: to become insane, forget all limits and explote in a million sensations.

That's a legit trap. Although playing the devil's advocate, I don't see how playing tennis is a skill you will need in "the real world" either. Among all invented sports, martial arts are the most connected to primal human nature and can significantly enhance your survival skills in various scenarios. Additionally, swimming is an excellent holistic sport that promotes overall health and may also improve survival skills.

Still figuring it out. In the sense of making it useful and of value to other people.
