Hi everyone
I would like to hear your opinion about a project im working on.
I'm a student and I've picked to focus on Actualization for my project.
I want to develop a concept of an app that will help you with this process of self actualization.
Meanwhile it focuses on bringing up quotes from a different subjects database (relationships, buisness, etc)
Please tell me what would ypu expect to have in such an app.
How would you interact with it daily?
Your input is very valuable to me.
Thank you

Hey man,
I used to affirm that also, until I realized it's in negative form. not dependant.
Affirmation work only in positive form.

What if the true self were selfish? then you are selfish in an unselfish way ; )
We must accept our selfishness, it's an inseparable part of us, but at the same time ask what is this self we are selfish about. (we don't/can't know)

This community is so beautiful : )
I just wanted to express my gratitude to you all. I'm deeply enjoying reading and answering your posts!
Thank you

Being enlightened you do the most purposeful things without ever intending to.
You might say that seeking a purpose from spiritual point of view is clutching to certainty. (You want to be sure your have found your "life purpose")

There's a share of truth in this very statement. They realised their neediness, and therefor don't need it : )

There cannot be an experience without an experiencer, and visa versa. This suggests that they are the same.
Imagine a world without experiences, who would logically be an experiencer?
Credit to Alan Watts of course : )

In one of the last videos leo drew a beautiful metaphor of thoughts questioning thoughts collapse and tear a hole in consciousness through which light can shine through. So yes indeed the mind is used to collapse itself : )
2 hours ago, Naviy said:I believe, that "seeing" is the activity of mind. Any experience is mind.
You can't know that intellectually, since "mind" is only logical in terms of "not-mind". And if all were mind there wouldn't be such a definition.
2 hours ago, Naviy said:It seems, that everything = mind. But it is kind of obvious that the Truth is not anything and not everything and not mind.
Come to think about it, everything you ever experience or know is an interpretation of the mind. So it's true from a metaphysical point of view.
I think that the experience of that is exactly what that famous saying means. "All is one," which of course is illogical and thus ridiculed.

Now riddle me this, how can one be selfish without knowing one's true nature.
Who is selfish?

To my mind, higher self is when you are peaceful and mindful to some extent. The more peaceful are mindful you are, the "higher" the self is
Exactly! The mindfulness is allowing you to see the ways in which the lower self tricks us into unconsciousness.
We should also consider that mindfulness alone without understanding the subtle ways in which the ego tricks us might not be enough.

The story began many years ago when I was twelve years old. It was a beautiful afternoon, the birds were singing loud and a light breeze was touching my face. I was walking down a walkway near the beach. For some reason I felt different that afternoon. A deep peace took over and I felt very alive. I was totally aware of everything that was going on around me and time seemed to slow down. Everything stood still. And then out of nowhere it suddenly happened.
I turned around and my perception deepened even further. I looked at the trees, then I slowly turned and looked at the ocean then at the mountains and finally at the sky and suddenly out of nowhere a deep knowing invaded my entire being and a phrase I had never heard before came into my mind “We are one”.
Somehow I knew that I was one with everything around me. At the same time the deepest feeling of love I had experienced filled my being. The feeling was so powerful, that I just stood there with tears in my eyes completely immersed in the present moment contemplating the beauty of everything around me.
This deep knowing and feeling of love only lasted a few minutes but I remained with a feeling of peace and excitement during several weeks and I never forgot that wonderful experience.

The thing I was trying to find out was, how from close mindedness somehow you suddenly open your mind?
What's the trigger or the key to shift?
Right now I am open minded, or at least want to be : )
Im looking for ways to influence my family and friends to discover they same beauty, but in very subtle ways.

Tell me how you opened your mind to spirituality.
I see how hard it is to hear the same old cliches and dismiss such beautiful ideas.

I think a meditation habbit is the most powerful of all. At least for me
By the looks of it, you suffer from monkey mind. And it creates the fog, makes you restless and focused too much on immediate results.
Personal development, is a 1000 jorney, which is built 1 step at a time, and in a beautiful way they all connect to singular path of feeling on track. It's about connecting the dots and see a new big picture. Start very small, and see what bugs you the most. Being mindful is important to find clues of these troubling thoughts.
I hope i could help dude.
Welcome and good luck fellow travler

Hello everyone,
I would like to hear your expirience in implementing that concept in your life.
Lately I have been wondering wether I got it right.
Sometimes it feels like I want to speak out, but then I ask myself, is it worth the possible arguments?
What if the lower self wanted to make trouble.
How can you tell between a lower self and higher self opinion?
-
We always hear how we should, live our life giving to others, forgetting about ourselves.
But how do you do that? How to manage your life in such a way?
-
I appreciate your detailed reply Arik,
Right now I'm not familiar with many techniques, except for looking.
I don't have much time to research more methods, and i trust that Leo's method is the best I can get realistically.
How do you practice acceptance?
-
After watching Leo's new video about the nature of the true self,
where he is saying to actively seek for it.
I keep wondering if the process of looking should be any different,
since it's basically proving to yourself that you don't exist.
