Yet you cannot see that the dude in the video is schizophrenic. -
Selfinquiry and silent meditation. Or grace. Or life itself. Edit: at least that is my opinion.

I don't know what exactly he said, but there are different facets and qualities that "awakenings" can take. A good teacher or certain practices can point you in a certain direction. Sat: "Mountain of peace", Beingness, more a physical quality, "enlightenment on the level of gut" Chit: "enlightnement on the level of mind", spacious, empty, consciousness, vastness Ananda: "enlightenment on the level of heart", love, bliss, intimacy These are the main qualities that an awakening beyond ego can take. It is on the "I am"-level. True enlightenment goes beyond that and includes all of it. So, a good teacher point you directly at certain of these qualities, you can get a taste even if you are not enlightened. And certain teachers / practises are concerned mainly with one quality.

You cannot convince someone who is delusional that reality might be otherwise. I once had a gay stalker who was sure I was gay and that I was totally interested in him. Every attempt to convince him otherwise failed or even proved his version of reality from his perception. The dude had a degree in mathematics or physics, so it was not intellect that was lacking. The only way to react is to ignore the person.

I've had the best experiences with that issue with - "anger meditation" as described by Leonard Jacobson in "Journey into now" - Somatic experiencing - guided meditation "working with negative emotions" by Adyashanti as included in his 10-15$ "guided meditations".

You kill a lot of animals and plants each month. Bacteria, flys... all animals. I'm not saying it is the same as killing chickens or other animals but if you find it immoral to kill animals, why is it moral to kill plants? Is it also moral for a cat to kill a mouse? The beautiful and present cat just goes outside and kills a mouse. How immoral! Wasn't it the Buddha who ate meat and got poisened by it or something? Why did he eat meat? isn't that immoral?

Yeah, Deepak is just a writer who can synthesize concepts very well. He is not enlightened. He is still very much concerned with his image. Just look at his shoes. As for the guy - if the story is real - I agree that it is more psychotic than "bipolar". He turned all the information into a massive delusion, even though he might have had glimpses here and there. There are so many things he says that have nothing to do with enlightenment: - channeling: has nothing to do with enlightenment - foretelling the future / "seeing": nothing to do with enlightenment - "7th chakra": has to do with energy and nothing with enlightenment. It's a model, a map, that has been misunderstood by him. With an enlightenened being ALL chakras are transcended and integrated - "manifesting": never heard someone who is enlightened speak about that stuff - except maybe Bentinho - "positive thinking": never heard a master speak of that. Thoughts are thoughts. Enlightenment is not a state where you only think positive and "high" and "good" thoughts. He should at least know what is beyond thoughts. - overall tone and his reactiveness: I don't think anyone enlightened would be so impatient and reactive to simple questions -
Well... I agree that it would be better for the world and nature if there would be a lot less meat consumerism. And I don't even need meat. As I said, I mostly do not eat meat. I eat also a lot of meat-substitutes. But I don't get why eating meat is wrong. As I said, a guru I know (who is teaching since '95 and awoke with Gangaji/Papaji after spending a lot of time with Osho) used to eat a lot of meat some years back. And I also saw people eating meat on retreats. I don't get why this is "bad". I myself couldn't kill animals to eat them (under normal circumstances) but I'm also not really the guy who could do any work in the medical field like cutting open bodies or corpses...

Before we explore the dude's state of being we first have to consider if that whole thing is even real and not staged. That is always a possibility. I've even seen Dr.Phil episodes where alleged murderers were taking a lie detector test and then agreed to reveal the results in the show. -
Do I really have to justify for eating like 200g meat in a month? I don't think so. I don't go by logic or what I should or shouldn't do. If I happen to eat or buy meat, I will do it. I don't like killing animals though. I even feel bad if I have to kill a fly or something like that. And I even felt bad that I threw away some fruits and vegetables today because they were laying around for too long.

The fact that he considers Deepak Chopra as a teacher or "enlightened" is proof enough that he cannot be enlightened. Case closed. -
Funny how vegan fundamentalists often fail to realize that plants, fruits vegetables are also living beings. Do you not feel bad for them being killed also?
-
I eat mostly vegan, but I don't mind some exceptions here and there. Just had some meat today. Nothing wrong with that imo. Killing plants (also living beings) just to eat them is also ok. I actually heard a guru making a statement that he enjoyed eating meat and by that he actually helped the animals being born in the first place.

Why would one should aim for bliss?

I used Adyashanti "Abiding in the Divine Ground" meditation. Was pretty awakening.

Why should the things "psychotic"? Maybe they are just physical, maybe just strong energetic symptoms which are not that uncommon. I would also find things that calm you down and resource you. It can be anything: nature, animals, touch, talking with someone, listening to music, having a walk, thinking of pleasant memories... The thing is, don't push yourself too hard with spiritual practices if you notice that symptoms or overwhelment get worse. But also try to relax as much into what you are experiencing. Afaik in some zen-monasteries when people had some overwhelment and psychotic symptoms they are advised not to meditate but instead work in the garden or something like that so that it grounds them. I went to a retreat with Adyashanti where he basically advised someone with strong symptoms (due to a opening on Ayahuasca afair) to skip the meditation sessions and instead go into the woods and hug trees. He even said that the person should ask the tree if it was ok for the tree to take the energy, because for some trees it would be too much while others would be glad to help.

"Giving to get" has nothing to do with "selflessness". It is just one way role of the ego.
-
Yet you don't have to do it all by yourself. If it works better in a group setting (meditation) or in 1on1 to face what comes up, I wouldn't mind trying that.

When you are on kundalini symptoms it is not the right time to do a retreat. -

They fall to the side because of gravity I guess. I don't think a legit teacher would show siddhis for entertainment or bragging. -

He's pushing it up with his thumb probably.
