  1. That's a good point I didn't look at it like that. Even though the principles and higher consciousness values look and seem pretty solid, there's always better mapping that can be done.
  2. No, I'm undermining the whole paradigm of right and wrong, agreements and disagreements, what I'm saying is unless your in the paradigm of "holding no beliefs" whether you are in agreement or not in agreement of Leo or anyone else becomes irrelevant. Because the gray area is a massive iceberg that can't be seen or known because of subjectivity. so the whole paradigm that "this is more true", or "this is wrong" or "I'm disagreeing with this here", is living in falsehood because it's all bullshit, it's still your belief, it's still a perspective of subjectivity. To be accepting or rejecting beliefs is a paradigm that you think you know what's true and is not true even if you're not aware you are thinking that way. What I'm saying is don't believe ANYTHING ANYONE SAYS. It's still a belief that can be attached to as TRUE in your world view. If you're saying "This is true" or "this is wrong." or "I don't agree with that" you're living in falsehood. because IT'S ALL GROUNDLESS. just because your belief might be better or worse than someone else's belief doesn't change the fact that it's still a belief, still a concept, still not the territory. No ones telling you to blindly follow what people say, or accept everything Leo says, the only people who fall into that trap have no awareness at all. They don't recognize that it's still just a belief. they confuse the map for the territory. We should be independent thinkers and hold no beliefs with the help of awareness. Not accepting beliefs or disagreeing with them but using them as tools for the territory which is why I agree they are incredibly useful as you said.
  3. Every one here should be mindful to Leo being wrong. People who want to argue that Leo could be wrong about some things are 1. Defending their beliefs to be true about reality. 2. Being dogmatic and attaching to beliefs about reality (which Leo talks about holding no beliefs because they are all virtually groundless) any concept, thought or idea are just that, they aren't the truth itself. anything anyone blabbers about any concept (including Leo and me), yes even enlightenment, is not actual truth. Like Leo says, "the map is not the territory." you can fight, defend, say something is wrong, say somethings more correct, or true. It doesn't matter. because all concepts and ideas are groundless, the only way to do true self actualization is open mindedness, and holding beliefs and truths and principles KNOWING that it's groundless and could be 110% wrong. But until something new is "known" we use them to self actualize, it's the best groundless belief that we "think" is most true about reality. but it's still a belief, still a thought, still the map, not the territory.
  4. Being present in the moment is huge in these type of situations, personally when I started doing this the emotions and feelings in my body were just churning, and did my best to stay present and not let them emotionally "dominate" me. The more I did this the less I cared what they had to say in fact over time I spun it back on them in a positive way, their "shots" over time got easier and easier the more I did this. This can be incredibly difficult if you don't have a meditation habit in place, because without this your stuck in the reactive-response orientation. Always reacting instead of holding your ground or creating your own dominance. I can't stress enough how important meditation is here.
  5. When things go down in the shit hole for me, the more I work on myself the more I get sparks of hope, why? because I always have the best growth from those types of situations, I always have a big insight that puts it all together, READ, do personal development. Find answers to why you feel this way. Leo covers so many topics and just one video can hold a golden nugget for you, I don't think you see yet how valuable these videos are. Allow yourself to change into the person you want to be, how you want to feel, this place can give you emotional support but it will only be a temporary fix, but, it's so much better for you if you change internally. Build positive habits (journaling and watching/studying yourself is a good start), new mindsets, new attitudes, wear them and see how they feel, allow yourself to grow. All the best.
  6. That's because you have a weak ego, I had the same problem, I had to find my worth and my value before I could be grounded in what I believe in. The Life Purpose Course really helped among a lot of enlightenment experiences and contemplation. This helped me gain a stronger ego, it still needs work, but I'm grounded in my values, and what's meaningful to me. Cutting out victim mentality and negative thinking and doing mindfulness REALLY helped a lot with this. So if you want to have a strong ego, and grounded or (true humility) find your values, find what's meaningful to you, and don't be afraid to express yourself, and be yourself to the max 100% these topics go deep, so start looking into self image, and mindfulness, also how to stop being a victim.
  7. So many high values that I want to embody... It's time to value pain, value struggle, value failure. As counter-intuitive as that may seem.
  8. Humility is a powerful strength, it's only negative if you feel others are better or worse than you in some way. Humility is powerful because you can be standing next to a billionaire and easily connect with them, talk to them, because you see them as equal to you, no better. and this also goes for if you saw a bum on the streets who looked hard to even stare at, it would be no problem talking to him, connecting with him and learning from him. That would be no problem because again, you're Humble. You can learn from anyone no matter who they are, even pessimistic d-bags. They aren't better or worse than you, they are equal to you. Having humility always leaves room for growth which is very powerful, without humility, most people can get stuck.
  9. Hell yeah, I think this would be a great idea, not just his logo but some powerful quotes from Leo. "Be A Strategic Mother Fucker" maybe even put it on a wallet like he said
  10. Leo talks about it as an emergent phenomena of all of these 70 trillion cells in our body, this is where the deep illusion of self comes from, the emergent phenomena is the output of these 70 trillion cells. "You" are part of the collective of everything. Not separated from it. It feels it comes out of know where because the illusion of self creates this separation.
  11. That feeling of you being depressed is a key reason to be developing yourself, that's an emotion we develop ourselves to outgrow, that ego that's bringing you down and saying things are pointless, and that life is pointless although that may be true, the thought itself is pointless if you think about it and that thought is what's giving you negative emotions, your whole entire life you've been chasing emotions and feelings. So the depression you feel is exactly what you'll get because you currently believe life is pointless. In this video there's a key insight about how your attitude towards life is exactly what you'll get in life, and this isn't a bad thing, this is a powerful thing. very counter intuitive though because it's hard for the ego to understand and accept because the ego has a need for purpose. And the ego doesn't like hearing that it's useless.
  12. Buy it, you get down your top ten values, a purpose to start with, find your strengths, and help you find yourself quicker and really just lay out a plan to tackle life with. You will have to work this course hard to get the golden nuggets out of it but it's worth it. This course will help you leap over a lot of petty problems we face in life and start getting to whats important, meaningful and just in general beautiful about life.
  13. I love this, fighting illusion with illusion, when I try to conceptualize and think about the ''mechanisms'' in my mind, I find when I'm journaling I go meta on the whole process and realize what I'm doing, and I call it out and say something like ''this is more beliefs more illusion" and even going meta on that ''who's telling me that this is more beliefs, more illusion?" And going meta on that and it just becomes this game, this justification game like Leo said, but even going meta on this justification game and started to "see" this cognitive dissonance/self sabotage for what it can be helpful for. Cutting off the thought process. I just keep going meta on the thoughts I have, eventually the ego gives and I get a few moments of no self. I've recently cut myself off social media and distractions to focus on building my reading habit and meditation habit, I'm writing this because I really think this is a turning point to take on enlightenment, the past few days I have felt a little shitty, because I've really noticed that the illusion that the ego/self whatever you want to call it, is the reason for the pain, suffering, and all types of problems, I've listened to Leos enlightenment videos multiple, multiple, multiple times, putting the audios on my phone, trying to get my head around this idea. And yesterday I concluded that this seriously something I should be focusing on. There was a lot of backsliding but I've finally realized the importance of taking on this journey.
  14. So I had an epiphany just hit me, when I hear leo talk about “what the ego is basically saying is ______.”example “How can I create a life so I can avoid pain and get as much pleasure as I can?” I realized that, the shit is just made up, and in truth there’s no one actually saying that, but in reality that’s exactly what is happening in that orientation about my actions, reality becomes labeled by thoughts. When I see the ego as an illusion and when I try to apply mindsets and principles to my life to how I’m taking action and how I’m not taking action (“What my ego is basically saying is ________.”) that in actual reality, this provides a solution to my current orientation of my current lifestyle, and in truth I’m not actually having these thoughts, but these thoughts describe a certain type of egoic thinking that describe a situation in reality. Sometimes I can become completely unconscious to my emotions, thoughts, and my actions they become hard to gain conscious awareness around, we use words to describe things in reality. But on top of that we use words to describe an ego that doesn’t even exist, and the pain we feel emotionally is just a bodily sensation that we attach a label to that doesn’t even exist. The emotions exist, but the label about the emotion has no control over the emotion itself. Leo talks about how we have thousands of emotions, and I see why, because they are just a feeling that we attach a label to. each feeling is unique. I See what leo talks about when he says this thing is just a label maker. just slapping labels on everything. But what I really want to get across is why I start feeling emotions, how it’s hard to identify them, because they just happen. it isn’t until I take conscious awareness that I can see what’s going on. because I’m creating illusions in my head making my mind and body shift and resist trying to get “control” over basically.. air, basically trying to gain control over nothing, the best way I can think of it is like fighting over gravity, trying to fight over control of nature, In that sense I’m basically fighting and complaining that I can’t control gravity. And that blows my mind. People don’t complain about gravity, they don’t try to change gravity, it’s just the nature of life and reality as we know it and we accept it as it is, and that’s what I need to start doing with myself and my thoughts, actions, and emotions. this exactly happened yesterday and the day before that. I remember a lot of subconscious thoughts, and these thoughts aren’t even tangible, they just pop up, I have no control over them, it’s not until I take conscious awareness that I have control, which isn’t even control, it’s just a state of being and accepting what is. it’s only when I watch is when I have control, but of course there is no me having control, it’s just shining a flashlight on the “problem”. Ego is resisting reality, trying to control reality, trying to change reality, trying to fix reality. By being my true self is to flow with life and to be who I truly am, to identify and shine a light on the truth. Not the illusion. Thoughts are a part of nature but I am not illusion, I am the truth, and until I can separate and distinguish these I cannot be my true self, all the while knowing and being aware of the truth right now in this moment.
  15. Find what's really true, the deepest truth (spiritual enlightenment) then you can build upon beliefs and principles to find more truths to "believe'' in.
  16. I'd say insecurities come from a lack of something or feelings of vulnerability, whether that be self esteem or material objects. Food for thought look at the word IN-Securities, how there's an inner world and outer world ---not feeling secure internally, or not feeling secure externally. Common insecurities - Not having this, Not having that, Not being this, not being that, not feeling good enough--- mostly stemming from the self image. There's also over compensating for your insecurities.---> "In order to make himself feel like he’s gotten over that insecurity, he becomes the exact opposite of that thing. So if you are insecure about being too quiet, for example, you would become extremely loud and arrogant because at the end of the day, you’d be able to look at yourself in the mirror and say “No one could accuse me of being too quiet today because I was so loud and so arrogant that they would never have reason to.” Because this kind of compensation is always born out of a desire not to be something – to not be shy, not be easily aggravated, not be weak, not be unattractive – a person experiencing it will simply switch from one extreme to another, rather than finding a healthy balance between them." - Josh pellicer Basically someone who becomes more aggressive is trying to project some kind of power over you, could be a multitude of reasons why. but ultimately they feel powerless so they try to verbally make you feel "powerless", or bring you down to their level or lower.
  17. Yes it can limit you. You'll never master anything dabbling in all of your passions. It's best to find one thing you love and maybe combine passions, so at least you have SOME direction in life. Make a choice asap, because if you don't make a choice at all, you'll continue to be lost and have no direction at all, even if its wrong right now, you'll at least find out its wrong later. This topic goes way deep though, I recommend you read some books, YouTube videos, or even take Leo's life purpose course. It goes deep into Vision, finding yourself, Mastery, Discipline. Making the choice is step one, most people fail right here, it takes drive, passion, courage, hard work and simply believing you can pursue your dream.
  18. 1. Full Responsibility/Growth/Truth 2. Purpose 3. Passion 4. Courage 5. Humor 6. Knowledge/Wisdom/Consciousness 7. Creativity 8. Intimacy 9. Uniqueness 10. Focus These will be changing soon though as I gain more wisdom and more consciousness.
  19. - Meditation - Mindfulness+journaling - Pushing my comfort zone in social interactions every time. - becoming the Ultimate Mental Masturbater and stuck in a state of analysis paralysis. (Not the best thing to do but it changed my whole perspective on life.)
  20. Haha honestly I when I saw the title I was like Sean Penn? the actor?
  21. MINDFULNESS This is very key. When you can sit and watch the emotions in the heat of the moment, look at them very objectively, detach from them, learn from them, just by watching them alone can be enough to stop the emotions and negative feelings.
  22. Well, you create your own purpose, so for me not to be giving back to others would be missing out on the greatest fulfillment in life. It's not just helping the world, it's you loving creating these gifts for yourself AND for others, like Leo says, "it starts to become this tree that never stops bearing fruit."
  23. I've been there, and still go there sometimes, over time it's lessened. The more awareness I gain (meditating, mindfulness,) the easier it is to be mindful of what's going on with me, journaling really helped me a lot in the beginning it's a very good habit to have in place. Just know the truth that it's all in your head. And in reality, ACTUAL REALITY, everything is neutral, everything is chill, it's just your ego reacting, Just do your best to be mindful and try your best not to let these emotions and thoughts drag you into the rabbit hole. Journal! ask yourself what is up with me? What is my deal? and come up with an answer, find some information and work with it, these feelings and thoughts aren't coming from the external environment, they are coming from you. Here's a good quote by Robert Fritz in The Path Of Least Resistance that I think might help ya. "To attempt a psychological solution to what is really a structural phenomenon does nothing to change the underlying structure." -- are you doing the same things over and over again expecting different results? whether that be internally or externally take a good look at your life and the things you are doing. Expect a lot of backsliding if this is the case.
  24. So, ever since about 4 days ago, I’ve been messing around with this idea of, what is the foundation from which i can build upon to do my personal development, to gain success. I even posted a forum post, but no one answered, probably cause it sounded a little out there. But, I’ve been having this in the back of my mind, like… what is a fundamental TRUTH, that I can lay down for this foundation, because I’ve been in such a state of skepticism, and it’s been hard to believe anything.I seem to be asking myself a lot “is this really the truth?” which has helped me come across what I’ll get to in a moment. But like what is it that I can truly ground myself with if you can say, what can I take on as a belief (knowing it’s a belief) but still do work and personal development from, and I think I’ve found it. and it lies in the law of attraction. earlier this morning it just hit me, “hmmm maybe I should watch the secret” something in me said watch the secret again, something about it hits this mark and has some truth to it, and I couldn’t shake the thought, and honestly the secret before I watched it---I tried watching it before only got like 40 min in because I've seen it before a long time ago, I was kind of ready to explain some aspects of it away because I remembered it had confusing moments for me, and it did have those moments, mostly about the airfaireyness they put on it, but me I saw past that when I watched it again, I saw it for what it truly is, Just a thought, and an image in the mind. How it’s gonna take discipline and hard work to make those things come about. which is what I’m getting to. after that I watched leos video on “the secret” I knew he had a video on it to help me better jump away from all the air fairy confusions and such and he did that very well, but he got down to it and said what his secret is, and it’s “Discipline, discipline your mind. That’s the real secret to success and happiness to your life.” But I don’t discount the power of law of attraction. I know discipline has been the secret now thinking about it. So I’m gonna dive into his concepts about using the law of attraction because I think this is very foundational to be mindful of when creating success in my life. It’s really to me the Center point of good and bad, like the image of these good and bad emotions, to me it's the middle way of my mind or the ego or the emotions. “Nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so.” This is the middle ground for me. this is where my mind should be at. so I don’t tip into ego and get lost into good or bad emotions. So this is it. a core truth that I will build upon. of course along with other truths I find but I really think this idea has a lot of truth and power in it. I just finished watching his law of attraction video and it was powerful. “When you do try it, you have to try it with faith and confidence and consistency. What you’re going to find is that it really works. The way it works is, again, not through some metaphysical mumbo-jumbo, but simply because you become confident. You have faith in your actions, you’re not insecure anymore. You’re excited about what you’re doing because you have these positive images of what you’re going to create. You start to impose your reality onto the world rather than the world’s reality mesmerizing you. When that happens, you start to feel really good. You’re able to go out there and work on your goals, to take action on your goals. You’re not procrastinating anymore. Through that whole process, your thoughts shape your actions and your actions attract whatever it is you want in life. That’s basically the law of attraction. Think about the things you want, not about the things you don’t want. Now, as simple as that sounds, you’re not going to do it. It’s really hard to recondition yourself. You have to be very persistent with it. But if you do, and you undertake this initiative, say, “You know what? I think there’s something to this law of attraction. I think it’s about time I try something new. Because I’m frustrated with the lack of results I’ve been getting.” If you really buy into it and you give it a go, give it a go for a month or two. Constantly concentrate on the things you want to create in your life.” and that’s how I really feel, this covers everything I’ve been trying to learn. It’s the buying into these ideas, taking action, having faith in them and just going with it. its probably been a limiting belief I’ve been having, if there’s an answer to why I’m not taking action. It’s my own thinking. and I think this law of attraction can really set the foundation for me to create success in my life.
