You're essentially asking why the dream functions in this a specific way. There really is no reason for this. Psychedelics and meditation just happen to be the things that work here. It just happens to be so that getting into expanded states usually requires meditation or psychedelics. -

Everything I said still applies. Truth is Love. -

Truth is absolutely Good. Truth is Love. It is the furthest thing from neutral that there is. -

The whole point of the human form is to experience the human limitations, and one of these limitations is the lower level of consciousness. It doesn't make sense for God to be living as a human and then be in a perpetual state of God consciousness by default that does not match the human form. The form is there to limit God's capability and consciousness into a specific form, in this case the human's. It's just what being human entails. If you were an ant, do you think you could access God consciousness at all? Probably not. If you were something more advanced than a human, maybe a higher level of consciousness would come by default with it. -

This whole no self thing to me seems like it makes you miss everything else that there is to awakening like I am God, love, and so much more. -

While I agree that infinity is already infinite, what I think Leo is getting at here is that since it is indeed infinite it literally has no end state and so your awakening can always become more total and deeper, because there is no such thing as an end state to infinity. I think he's talking about actually becoming infinitely more conscious, which is a process that can keep expanding your consciousness infinitely. Because there are no bounds, you can keep becoming conscious of infinity infinitely. -

I am not talking about observer. Experience does not require an observer, it is more like a process of experiencing. When I say experience I mean the same thing when you say appearance, I thought we already went through this word-game earlier in some other thread. Then we meant the same thing, this is what I was talking about too. I was reading the PDF that you sent and found the 8th jhana to describe the state I was trying to describe most adequately: The Mind-Base of Neither-Perception-Nor-Non-Perception. Within the perception of nothingness lies the perception of not even nothing! If the mind is subtle enough to see this feature, then the perception of nothingness disappears and is replaced by the perception of neither perception nor no perception. All that one can say about this fourth immaterial attainment is that it is, in fact, a perception. This is what I meant. -

Self-design and absolute art, they just mean the same thing coming from different perspectives on it. The word magic is also very fitting. -
I see, I definitely can see how it would become a problem if used daily.

The thing here where I think Buddhism is wrong is still the belief in a separate self that keeps reincarnating, like how you can somehow forever get out from the world of form. God will never ever stop experiencing form, it will never permanently stop all manifestation for good, it will keep taking on different forms forever. But God also simultaneously is also resting in pure nondual consciousness, the world of unmanifest form. In a way when you realize you are God you get infinite reincarnation, but also infinite "liberation" (I don't like this word - but you get what I mean). In fact when you realize that time does not exist, then every single experience will be repeated infinitely. -

I have actually have had experiences that were completely undifferentiated and unpolarized states of nondual consciousness, where there was just nothing infinitely, pure potential, pure rest. I am curious as to why you call it a non-experience? Or do you mean something else than this? As far as I have found out, there is no such thing as non-experience, only experience. Even this undifferentiated void is experience. -
These people were using weed for a few years on and off irregularly, they didn't have any negative changes over time. I think the problem here is the regular consumption, weed definitely affects you negatively if you take it too often.
-
From what I know weed is more addictive than psychedelics, but less addictive than compounds such as tobacco, cocaine, heroin, or alcohol. And even alcohol is legal. It definitely is not unlike any other drug. The addictive potential is definitely a factor to take in, but you definitely can use it with proper care. It's really more about the person than the substance. I have used weed, and I never had a problem with it. I usually used it rarely, maybe once or twice a month or less. I don't use weed almost at all anymore actually. Everyone I know who used weed was not addicted to it. But these are just anecdotal reports, the overall picture that I have gathered is that most people can use it in moderation, with some people being unable to do so. But there are people who are unable to do anything in moderation, even when its something as basic as eating. Most people I've seen have not become paranoid from weed, though this is indeed that happens to some people. Never seen rage due to weed though, in fact, usually it's the opposite. It's supposed to make you chill. It's more about responsible use and your individual reaction to it. Though I am not trying to defend weed, I don't actually care that much about it at all, I just don't think its that black and white.
-
Most people's lives who do use weed aren't destroyed though. I've even seen someone's life be destroyed by psychedelics. Doesn't mean the drugs are somehow bad due to that. Taking anything regularly is probably not a very good idea in general. Weed isn't going to destroy anybody's life if they don't use it constantly and have other meaningful content in their life.

If your experiences are only seen "some" mystical insights then you have not gone deep enough with your awakenings. They wouldn't be something lowly, they would be higher than any kind of realm you could possibly ever visit, because they are so universal they apply everywhere. They are so shocking, deep, and profound, that they would trump over any kind of magical ability. I'm coming from a perspective of having experienced both. I'm not stuck, I'm absolutely in the place I want to be in, I know this very deeply. Neither are you truly stuck. Why would I want to leave? In fact I have already spent infinitely long times away from being a human multiple times in different dimensions during trips, and I have no dissatisfaction with being here. And why are you so fascinated with mahasamadhi? You already have death. And of course all of this is an illusion. The real question is do you understand what that means? -
amanen replied to r0ckyreed's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
The point is to actually realize that, not just hear it and then not understand the deep profundity contained within what he said. You don't understand just how many implications and ramifications there are in what he said. And don't assume that awakenings or truth cannot affect your life. They have been the single most positive and beneficial thing in my life, nothing comes even close. My life as it is would not exist if not for psychedelics. A lot of this has been indirect through changing my own behavior, changing what I pursue, deconstructing worldviews, and so on, but more notably I have also had very drastic and direct changes to my life due to awakenings, that I cannot really open up here, indeed things that I would call actual magic. Psychedelics are very powerful tools, and they have numerous uses. -

Now that's a goal to set. Not reaching for what Buddhism teaches, or any other teacher, but something completely original totally beyond anybody else. -
If someone ever decides to start selling this as a pure powder I will give this a try, mainly because 5-MeO-DMT (and all the other ones) is illegal where I live and it is incredibly rare to find people selling 5-MeO-DMT here.

I have been contemplating for some time now what beauty is, and I think I've reached some sort of a conclusion. What is beauty? Beauty is unity or intelligent design. Absolute Infinite Beauty is total nondual unity of consciousness that is infinitely intelligent. When we find something beautiful it is due to the unity of the thing. The unity is the intelligent design, it is the intelligence itself. When we see a beautiful painting, it is not the individual brush strokes or small areas of paint that we find beautiful, but the intelligent and unified composition of the thing as a whole. The way the brush strokes and areas are connected, is what makes the whole beautiful. It is the whole thing that is beautiful, not necessarily any specific part of it. Or take poetry for example, we find the words joined together as beautiful, they become larger than the individual words in any other order. Only when they are arranged in an intelligent way are they connected, then they are unity of the coherent sentence, that we in the end find beautiful. When we hear a beautiful song, it is not the individual notes that we find beautiful, but how they are unified in an intelligent way. If you have random sounds joined together at random, this does not sound beautiful to us, but like a mess. Why? Because unity is not just a random thing of joined parts, it is an intelligent design. There is no unity without intelligence. It's not just about meshing together smaller units into bigger ones, its about making the whole greater than the parts. When the whole is greater than the parts, then it is unified. For example, the notes cannot be random, they have to be connected. Because unity is just connection. So when things are connected in an intelligent way, we find that thing beautiful. And isn't physical attraction just based on wanting to unify with someone through sex? The unification of two bodies as one. Since unity is just connection, when we want to be with someone beautiful, listen to beautiful music, are we just not wanting to connect with these things? In fact isn't anything beautiful to us something that we feel connected towards, because we can see the intelligent design of the thing, we can see the unity in the thing? The reason we usually find death, disease, and so on ugly is that we supposedly lose our connection and unity through them. When you die, you are no longer connected to this world as a human. So to our mind this is an ugly and a bad thing, not a beautiful thing, because we supposedly lose the connection and unity. But actually death is the ultimate unification of apparently finite consciousness into infinite consciousness, it is a very beautiful thing. This is why death is beautiful, it is because it actually is the most unifying event that there is. When there is some random mess, we do not find this beautiful, because it is not unified or connected in any way, and we do not see an intelligent design in it. At least to our mind there is no intelligent design. Our mind is flawed because it only sees certain patterns as beautiful. But every single thing is unified by consciousness, aka love, which means everything is beautiful. Consciousness is what everything has in common, it is what unifies every different experience. And all the beautiful things are happening inside consciousness, and as consciousness is greater than any parts of it, then that implies that consciousness is actually more beautiful than any of the beautiful things in it. Consciousness is also infinitely connected, infinitely unified as one, so it is infinitely beautiful. It is the ultimately beautiful thing, far grander than any single beautiful thing in it. All intelligent designs are unions of connected parts that bring about a greater whole than the individual components. It doesn't matter what these parts are, they can be cells of the body, notes of a song, words of a sentence, the elements of a scene, or so on. But even separation is actually a unity inside an even greater unity. Separation is a mechanic inside nondual unity, which has been very intelligently designed, so apparent separation is a very beautiful thing too. It should also be noted that everything can be subdivided infinitely, so there is the possibility of seeing infinite levels of beauty in everything, because to realize just how intelligently designed any part of reality is, is very beautiful. Although this post did not go very deep into beauty, I think it should give some sort of idea of what beauty is, namely unity, connection, and intelligent design. You can also go deeper into it, where all of this is actually equated or realized to just be love itself, so in a way beauty is just love. Love is intelligent. Beauty is also just infinity, because this is infinity, and beauty is just infinity itself. Beauty is consciousness itself, which is of course the ultimate union, the ultimate intelligent design. Do you have a different view on what beauty is? I would love to hear what you think beauty is.

Very interesting trip report. These kinds of places seem to be very common to see / visit on psychedelics. I've seen many trip reports with these different realities where the inhabitants are able to effortlessly materialize/manifest their imagination or desires, where the heightened level of novelty, bliss, and fun also seems to be a very common point.

4-AcO-DMT was a nice alternative to mushrooms for me, I found it cleaner and less confusing than mushrooms (though I only did up to 6g cubensis equivalent dosages). 2C-B is a also a very cool psychedelic in my opinion, somehow it just has a very unique feeling to me. You could also potentially explore the other 2C psychedelics too. I'm not sure if you should go for 5-MeO-DMT if you don't think you can handle DMT yet. Mescaline isn't really good for insights I think, and all the other lysergamides don't differ too much from LSD. Maybe DPT, but It's also pretty strong, so maybe not before you have done more DMT. You can always try higher dosages of LSD too, for example tripping 50 times on 200mcg will not prepare you for a 600mcg trip.

While I think the trip report I posted could be considered a total awakening, you can actually go so much deeper than what that trip report detailed, and I have done so after that trip. Every time I have a deeper trip than the other, it seems so radically impossible that there is always a yet deeper level of total awakening, even though all of them could be considered total. There is no how, that's why its Magic. Consciousness is literally the most mystical miracle there is. I also think the imagination and magic aspects or descriptions of consciousness play well together.

I don't know about this one. I can even now appreciate an object as an object and find it beautiful. In fact I collect various types of objects and regularly look at them for their beauty... and I look at them as objects. -
Not a good idea I think, tripping is already intense on its own, so doing it when tired will probably not feel that great. The possibility of a bad trip is also increased, you should consider your set and setting. I once did LSD and DMT when I hadn't slept, and I got very deliriant-like visuals, the trip was very different from what I would usually have.
