After looking into it, specifically the Bill Gates conspiracy theories that he wants to depopulate the world starting with Africa and also chip all of us, I can see that there is not much weight any of the theories at least i havent seen anything, still have an open mind though. This article sums it up with a French doctor going viral for warning Africans not to get any vaccines from the west, this was debunked by a Fact Check group in France after they contacted the place he works and they stated he didnt write that post - https://medium.com/dfrlab/bill-gates-trends-in-south-africa-after-coronavirus-anti-vaxxer-conspiracy-theory-goes-viral-4b4ca22ff6d6 Obviously i havent seen everything but most of the negative stories tend to be from sites like info wars which will also site from other similar sites. The worst story i found was one about a meningitis vaccine that allegedly paralysed 50 kids, although the source is a single newspaper clipping from a chad publication, theres no sources further than that, but of course it could still be true, however if it is it doesnt really speak to the theory that hes trying to kill africans as none of them died (although still a horrible outcome) and also 500 took the vaccine, so its not the most effective way to depopulate if thats his goal, if it is true it seems like more of an issue of bad testing or not checking pre existing conditions, a fuck up basically. But most of the over arching stories are easily debunked. Now heres the problem, lets say the conspiracies arent true, so Bill Gates is just trying to do philanthropy and help those in poverty at least get decent protection from diseases, if people in the west or wherever make these posts go viral worldwide which then Africans also believe, its very likely they may reject all vaccines. If they do reject all vaccines not only will the situation continue, (botswana for example has a life expectancy of 41 mainly because of diseases) but it will increase significantly as theyve found families have more kids because of poverty as so many people die parents want to make sure some live through to look after them when their old (this article explains better - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4255510/). If there was better healthcare and parents felt more secure that they wont have their kids die its likely they would have less children, for example in Niger the average kids per household is 7 whereas western countries in tends to be around 2. So of course a strategy would be to improve healthcare and in particular vaccines for things like polio which we take for granted and good hiv/aids treatments which are big problems. If this isnt done then overpopulation will be a serious problem as their healthcare systems cant handle the amount of people already imagine what the numbers will be in 30 years. So looking into where conspiracies come from a lot are from very questionable sites and social media, if i was to have my own conspiracies id say they came from far right people who themselves want to destroy Africa because the best way to destroy Africa would be to stop all intervention from the west in regards to healthcare, an even better way would be to get Africans to reject it themselves(i have no way to prove that though). But people on social media continue to share these type of things with no research or context or anything and this could lead to a lot of suffering, death and destruction just based on a hunch that Bill Gates is evil. Keep in mind if Bill Gates doesnt do the vaccines someone else needs to and that someone will also likely be a billionaire and most likely be taken down in the same manner as there is a general distrust for them, but then who is gonna sort this problem out? -

Yeah nice share, this is the stuff im talking about, if he doesnt know something he says i dont know but this kind of thing is in the realm of possibility as something similar has happened before. This is the method conspiracy theorists should use but i dont see much of it. I guess thinking about it now, it would come down to what level of consciousness youre on, for example if youre at stage blue its likely that youll swap one religion and make something else fit into the structure, this could go for any 'movement', truthers, pick up, feminism, veganism, whatever. Youre likely to have that 100% certainty and create in groups and out groups and probably have disparaging names for the out group (sheeple, hethen etc), amongst other traits. So as a journey its probably good for people as theyve shed at least one false belief system, but ultimately they would need to get to the point where they see the fallacy of any belief system. -

Yeah i agree with pretty much everything you said, the mainstream media is just as bad if not worse because the masses listen to them, any and everything is adapted to fit their narrative. But the truth seekers if they want to replace that system have to better in that they are 100% on the side of truth, if not its the same thing dressed as something else. From what ive seen most a willing to bail on the truth the moment their narrative is tested. Yes ideal world we should just brainstorm and those that want to research in depth take those theories and debunk or prove some validity but in most cases that just doesnt happen unfortunately. -

@LaucherJunge Very good points, ultimately we have to have a society that allows us to question what the powers that be tell us and yes it would make complete sense for those powers that be to discredit all theories esp if theyre even a little bit close to truth. I also agree that we shouldnt make an identity for theorists which put them in a different class of people that should be dismissed as 'crazy'. But and this is just from what ive seen speaking to people and looking at different perspectives, not all but a lot of people are almost doing the work of the government in discrediting themselves. How? By not researching properly and just taking memes or hearsay and not holding it to any scrutiny just because it fits the narrative that they have in their head. Examples of this ive personally experienced, in 2015 there was a viral video posted on youtube of a naked man climbing out of buckingham palace, it was quite easy to debunk this as it was a promotional, fake video for an upcoming tv series "The Royals". Now this was posted on facebook to back up conspiracy theories about the royal family, that theyre hiding stuff etc, but when people who posted this in that way were presented with the debunking they clung onto their theory claiming that the show was just made up to cover their tracks. (heres the debunking - https://www.thatsnonsense.com/naked-man-escapes-buckingham-palace-video-debunked/?fbclid=IwAR2DgAxex96QoL9G-99-RvLt1nvCnTR6eo12_tsdOpxUXf_WyUktj7Js92Y) Now there maybe many valid theories about the royal family, we're seeing some come out now with Prince Andrew, but the fact that theres so much disinformation spread by those that claim to be truth seekers means that someone like Prince Andrew can operate for longer because we dont know truth from bullshit. So this is where theorists are dangerous, they do the job for the powers that be by just throwing a ridiculous amount of things out there which they claim with 100% assurance, im always suspicious when someone is so sure about something that they havent direct experience of anyway. During this current situation there is a lot of info being thrown out about corona virus, and im seeing the same patterns of very little research and just ideas being thrown out. I dont think the ideas themselves are dangerous but its how sure people claim to be about them and how many people jump onboard. -

No worries i take your point and i agreed with your earlier article as well which i thought was very good. However i feel that we should put the same scrutiny on conspiracy theories and theorists, not to make them look bad for the sake of it but to actually seek the relative truth without a load of nonsense distracting everyone and making conspiracy theorists look crazy. As @Parththakkar12 said and agree with the mainstream does not give a shit about the public thats very obvious if you think about it for a second, so no doubt there are plenty of conspiracies all over the place designed to get people to work so those above them can profit (slavery with more steps as Rick & Morty say lol). What i find with the conspiracy culture is theres just too much involved in it that makes an objective take on them near impossible. I use the world culture because thats exactly what they evolve into, with that comes so many blocks to truth, including confirmation bias, paranoia, the fact that for some their whole lives are wrapped up in whether the earth is flat for example, that means they make income, have their social groups tied up in their beliefs. This all means they are not coming at it from a truth seeking perspective, they need this to be true. For me this just echoes something like religion which is why people think theyre crazy. In reality there are probably some strands of truth in what they say but because its so clouded in all these other issues theyll never get to the truth. -

@brugluiz @DivineSoda I mean a few assumptions there, I never said I agreed with non-dual teachers on this, I would never take whatever they say wholesale, in fact how I see the teacher isn't and shouldn't be important, only the teaching. The title of this thread is why doesn't Leo believe in conspiracy theories and I was pointing out that its also the case with many teachers. The only conspiracy person that I've come that resonates with me a little is David Icke and of course not everything he says. You're projecting on me how I feel about certain things, which is cool you can do it but it doesn't really further the debate -
Consept replied to Flowerfaeiry's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
One thing just to throw in though, theres no real non-duality teachers, that ive heard anyway, speak about conspiracy theories, so Leo isnt alone in this, make of that what you will. Either they dont think theyre important or relevant or theyre part of the conspiracy. I just searched for Sadhguru and conspiracy theories on youtube, theres one where he answers a direct question, the answer is quite vague to be honest, but the comments section is interesting as many of the comments which usually support him are against him on this one saying that he has been 'gotten to' so i found that interesting. @brugluiz Could you elaborate on why UBI would be dangerous? I'm not necessarily arguing for it, I just used it as an example but I'd be interested in the arguments against it -
Inherently with popular modern sports there's just so much money in it that it would follow that most involved would be orange, however it depends on your intention behind it. For example a lot of political change has come from sports both intentional and unintentional, thinking of Jesse owens showing up the nazis, or the first black competitors in football (soccer) or basketball. Whether we like it or not most people buy into the world of tribal sports so hitting them at their level has got to be one of the best ways to bring about change or progress on a mass scale. A good example is someone like manny pacquaio who through boxing has given hope to many Filipinos not to mention direct social change or social improvement with donations, I think he's also in politics there. So I wouldn't underestimate the power of sports. Of course you could also be in it for ego reasons, it's just a tool and I think when it's used in the right way it can be very effective

Good discussion btw guys @LfcCharlie4 Yeah UBI it could be good or could be a control thing but it will always come down to perspective if you believe the government is always trying to control you then youll believe anything they do will be a form of control, probably the truth is somewhere in the middle where they want a balance of control and happiness (or at least numbness) for us. I like to believe that with the emergence of people like Sanders, Yang and Corbyn it shows a shift toward being the kind of society we all talk about on here, 10-20 years ago their ideas wouldve been laughed out of politics but now theyre getting to very decent positions and gaining strong followings, so this shows the political spectrum is changing. Objectively youd also say Republicans have also shifted and become slightly more tolerant, Trump is a really a throwback and probably wouldnt have been questioned as much had he run in the 50s for example. Lets say you find out whos running things and its Johnny Rockerfeller, whats the plan then? (thats not a sarcastic question lol) I agree with you that this year of chaos will bring about change, there are so many people forced to go within and look at how their 'lives' can just be taken away like that, so is what you were doing so important? This whole corona thing has lifted the veil up on whats real and whats not, we can see that trump and johnson are useless at times of crisis, we can see you dont need to travel to work everyday, we can see they can just give everyone money, so i think the reality we thought knew has now changed. @LaucherJunge I agree there are phases of inner and outer work, but my main point is that most conspiracy chasing is based upon the premise that whatever conspiracy you got its 100% true and any evidence or argument that disputes it is wrong. That is really organised religion territory, my auntie believes that dinosaur bones were planted by scientist in order to disprove God. So if at the root there are half truths, confirmation bias etc, lets say the people take over because of this information, then eventually someone else will rise up and point out where all these conspiracies have holes and rebel. I believe inner work is important because its the only way to have a true lasting change, we've been there before in human history where people have been pushed to believe something, communism, Nazism, all had believable arguments at the time and people were convinced but they didnt work because there is no truth to them. I believe we have to work on being able to truly differentiate between whats true and not and that comes from trusting ourselves 100% and not relying on some external force. You may not see it see but truthers have a very specific view of the world most of which has been arrived at through sheer belief, im not saying what some of what they say is not factually correct but the overall belief system is just that a belief system -

I'm not blind to it, in fact I used to be quite into it. I understand the structure and I like to piece things together it's just for me personally, I didn't really see the point in just finding more content especially when you have to sift through so much rubbish to get there. I think a better pursuit for me is going within and really contemplating things from that space, this leads to a better understanding of people in general. Things like conspiracies can be a distraction not just from that but from actual real issues that you could change, for example is it that important whether we went to the moon or not, if you're gonna protest why not fight for a universal basic income which will wipe out the issue of poverty (I know there's arguments for and against, just an example). Or why not fight to get a better quality of life esp in the states, many European citizens have fought for that in their respective countries and gained it from their jobs with extra paid holidays, reasonable work hours etc. To me it's like there's plenty we can change but the conspiracy movement seems to just want to complain about issues true or not and it can be damaging as it takes away from real issues going on. But I understand its a part of the journey people go on and maybe its unavoidable but just throwing in my opinion -
Consept replied to Flowerfaeiry's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
I wasn't attempting to disprove any particular conspiracy theory and I'm not even necessarily against conspiracy theories. My point was that majority of theories I see are just people throwing out wild claims or things they've heard from someone else, when I look into it they have no evidence or even reasoning really. Now that's cool anyone can say what they want but if there are true conspiracies out there which I'm sure there are, it diminishes their believability by having so much false information about. It's like people are doing the work of the government or whoever for them by making themselves sound unbelievable. Like I said they start off with an idea and then manipulate and change evidence to back up that idea, to me that's not truth seeking, if you're seeking truth on this level your research should take you where it takes you. It's very important to question what we're being told but I just think the way it's being done has almost turned in to religion in of itself -

Relative truth has value, the issue I have is the method that's being used to get there, its like throw as much shit to the wall and see what sticks, the problem is even if something does stick you don't know what's true. The articles you posted are essentially just opinions, that's fine but you can't really base these on any kind of truth. A lot of the stuff said about bill Gates has been debunked many times but the thing with the truthers is that they can never accept that they either don't know or that they're wrong, which is what keeps these things going which really makes them faith based ideologies. If you check this article it debunks some of the bill Gates stuff and there's are direct misquote that have led to conspiracies - https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/bill-gates-vaccinations-depopulation/ -
Consept replied to Flowerfaeiry's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
My issue with conspiracy theories is that they aim to uncover truth but they actually obscure the truth more than anything else. There's a faith based logic to a lot of claims, they start off 'I believe this theory because someone told me or a watched a YouTube vid or whatever' and then any argument or evidence to the contrary is dismissed ie they planted that evidence to make it look like that etc. So if the theorist is not willing to change their mind under any circumstance or any evidence then how would they or anyone know what's true, it then turns into a debate on faith. Personally Im always for real truth and that means keeping an open mind both ways, if there's a theory that obviously isn't true then debunk it and move on. Right now there's so much information pouring in, I've heard the dumbest most easily debunkable claims shared as if they're fact, this takes away from any truths that could be uncovered. There needs to be challenges to the current system as there's a lot of corruption and probably conspiracies but the way its been done is just making it so that no one has an open mind about them because 99% of the time it's nonsense -
Just some thoughts on this, I'd agree that you're probably in the 80% but how it seems from the outside you haven't fully embraced that masculine side. To be 'more like a woman' is a transcendence of the masculine so you embody it but then you let it go, so there's no more trying to be masculine because you no longer see yourself as only that. I think the stage you're at is the non offensive, nice guy which is what women think they want men to be and some men buy into it and think that's how they should be, this is not embracing your feminine side, it's crushing your masculine side. So you need to reject that and embrace your masculine, once you do that then you can transcend it and embrace the feminine within you, but it's a long journey and doesn't happen over night. Main thing is be brave and challange yourself

Relationships by their very nature are a distraction, think about it, you're most likely going in because you want something from this person, sex, love, companionship, whatever but the other person has there own wants and needs. If you love them of course you want to fulfill these needs for them but in doing so you sacrifice something, time, energy etc. So essentially you've got to work out if the things they offer are as valuable to you as your life purpose. Of course a higher consciousness relationship would be that they aren't really concerned with you fulfilling any needs of theirs, and things just happen naturally and flow. But it's really rare to find this and in fact your consciousness would have to be at a certain level. Chances are if you feel you need a relationship its not

Hey man, sorry to hear youre in pain at the moment. Just wanted to ask, im from the UK as well so whereabouts is the place where youre living and where are you looking to move to? Just so i can get a better idea of the situation. Also youve mentioned many times that things havent worked out or the designing jobs you were doing didnt make you any money, but without sounding too simplistic, there are people from all round the world that make money doing that on fiverr or upwork for example so theres definitely people who need these skills and would pay (i did last week) and also there are many people getting paid from doing these and many different jobs freelancing or even in normal jobs. So what im asking is what makes you or your situation different from them, as in why do you think theyve succeeded relatively speaking, and you, as you say havent?

What i would advise is have a look around for whos actually making money online or wherever and try and find out how they made money, what they do etc. Im not talking about these so called 'gurus' i mean people who are not rich by selling others dreams but those that have really started something from scratch and are making a living. I sell on amazon atm and do ok its kept me out of wage slavery for a few years (although that can bring its own problems), i started on ebay about 10 years ago and basically found this guys blog online who was making good money and just adapted his method to fit how i wanted to do it and then just kept learning. I think you can do that with anything you just need to get in the game, theres so many ways to make money online just do a bit of research pick one and go for it. Affiliate marketing, shopify, freelancing (find out what skills are in demand on upwork), amazon fba, ebay, online courses, forex trading, there are many options. Its good to get a basic understanding of business but sometimes it can lead to more theory than you need, things move so fast now that any think you learn could get outdated quickly so just get the fundamentals down, buy low, sell high, keep the customer happy, work on your reputation etc etc. Higher level youd want to get a business you enjoy and that really provides benefit to people but for now just find out where the money is and go get it to escape your wage slavery. Also im saying it like its easy to make you see its possible, which it is but it will still be hard work mainly to learn everything you need to. If you need any advice just let me know good luck!

Probably yes, let's not say all rap music but a lot of negative rap is promoted. Thing is people are going to go through this period, there's lots of negative content out there and eventually they'll go through it and get into something more conscious or maybe they won't. You won't really get anywhere telling people not to listen to something the best way is just to try and balance it out, either by creating positive content yourself or just being present in life

Really great video, been feeling this for a while -
@bejapuskas I hear what you're saying and yes you probably can change sexuality however many times but the point is that that would be an exploration of your sexuality that you'd probably enjoy. With ocd there is literally no enjoyment, the thoughts bring about anxiety and not pleasure, also they are usually just one theme out of many. So let's say being gay didn't bother the ocd sufferer anymore it would then switch to another fear, maybe they fear they want to harm their mum, that doesn't mean they actually just discovered they wanted to do it. What can happen with people with ocd is that people get stuck on the content, the actual condition is an over active amegdyla. I heard about a male teacher who had pedophile ocd, people found out and he got sacked from his job. So I really believe there needs to be more understanding about the condition. If you read op comments he's in a state of panic, a lot of gay people would feel relief at the revelation they're gay. For example although it's not a good thing I felt relief when I discovered I had ocd because before I found out about it I couldn't put my finger on what my issue was.
-
@bejapuskas lol yeah i know its a bit wild if youve never heard it before. Good question though, from what i can see someone who is straight and has hocd will get anxiety when thoughts that could be called gay pop up the thoughts are definitely not pleasurable and will lead to rumination, now keep in mind other common themes are incest ocd and pedophile ocd, so its not limited to just gay, also gay people can get ocd thoughts about being straight. If you were just gay your thoughts would be pleasurable the fear of being gay is how you think your family might take it, so its not uncommon for people in the closet to watch gay porn or even have gay sexual experiences in private, (think Vito if you watched sopranos) the fear isnt of the thoughts themselves. Admittedly from the outside its hard to tell so its really only the person thats suffering with it that knows deep down. The reason i think op has hocd in this case is that he seemingly suddenly turned gay without warning, this is a common thought pattern for ocd people, hes looking for a way to 'solve' being gay which is also common, as far as hes told us his only proof is that he had a gay thought that hes scared he may have enjoyed, he hasnt had any gay experiences or been interested in gay porn or anything like that from what hes been saying. Hes also said hes had ocd since childhood and being gay is really looked down upon in his society. So with all this its not much of a stretch to say that he has a possibly legitimate fear that if he was gay his life would be affected negatively, mix that with a gay thought and an ocd problem that goes to childhood, id say theres a lot there to say its ocd. Of course i may be wrong and if i am i hope he accepts his gayness and goes for it but i just dont think its the case
