Ofc starting a family goes way deeper than some political values. It’s true that it’s wired into us on a biological level. But then it’s a problem when people expect everyone to follow this imprint. There are plenty of things we do today that are “unnatural” , one could say we’re wired to live outside in nature, but we aren’t getting shit for not doing that. Just an example. And yea it seems the pressure is larger on women as if motherhood is seen as more core than fatherhood. I agree with you on the maturity part

I think the stigma around choosing to be childless should go away. It’s not good for children to have parents that didn’t even want them but felt pressured to, hypothetically speaking, if that ever happens. There’s more to life than having children, although there’s value in it ofc. People have hive mind by default , so it shows in this topic.

Lol I’m not very addictive I’ve noticed. I’ve had one vape once but didn’t get addicted to it and I’ve tried cigs too. So it’s fine. If I try it’s just extremely occasional Ok cool didn’t know

Hi Ok I can understand if it has pleasant effects. That’s why most people do it I guess Those two packs hopefully do negligible damage Now you making me wanna try just out of curiosity. I’ve tried maybe twice but I don’t remember how it felt if I even felt anything.

I think in your case it could be a matter of just waiting it out due to the past addiction to alcohol, and things will eventually return to normal. Also if you have other addictive habits, like internet for example, overindulgence in pleasures those could also wreck your dopamine system, so finding a balance there is good , doesn’t have to quit it all entirely. The antipsychotic could def contribute , I’m on one too. I’m also on antidepressant but I can’t really tell what it’s doing, it’s not counteracting the anhedonia at least from my experience

What’s the reason when you do buy cigarettes? Is it the taste, the feeling what is it? I’ve been craving vaping sometimes it’s satisfying to blow and it’s a nice little feeling

That is what I was thinking too. Because for example I like to eat salads where all the ingredients are mixed and I find it hard to believe it would be able to distinguish properly what it contains. Thanks for the suggestion. I will try when I feel the need to count calories.

If the self isn’t real then all these wacky states like depersonalization make sense because something that ain’t real won’t always be stable and seem super real. The normal human state is an active hallucination. Depersonalization is a different kind of hallucination. There’s many layers to the self/mind. And when one breaks apart it can feel scary. But it’s just that hallucination crumbling. -

That’s smart I have never thought or heard of that. That would kinda be like using my fitness pal right, you’d have to weigh the food or tell them the quantity in another way like for example 2 eggs or 50 grams cheese

I might wanna try that sometime. I guess for now when I’m trying to loose weight I’ll just eat smaller portions without needing to count, but then when I reach goal weight I might count to know how much I’m gonna eat to maintain That’s rough As long as it’s not too far off I’m pleased with the app but how would I know I don’t need to lose weight for health but I wanna be skinnier😹

I would like to get a rough estimate That’s true. Weighing the food/counting the quantities and logging it is the ideal way of counting calories. I did do that a short while but then stopped because it was so much work kinda. But I might utilize it again

Yes . I guess the ultimate test of the app would be to do classical calorie counting by weighing and logging into something like my fitness pal, then comparing the results
