  1. @Ishanga that does sound nice. Lots of people also do hardcore yoga practices, retreats, fasts, meditations, etc., get amazing insights, but also fail to integrate it and so none of it sticks.
  2. Dying also feels like ultimate freedom
  3. @Leo Gura but you are my guru I just practiced random yoga and breath work exercises from random people, and did some meditation techniques from your videos. It felt good while I did them, but like I said, I don't think they did anything permanent. I guess I developed better self-awareness.
  4. @Talinn well, at least they sound kind of okay with you. I wouldn't tell my parents that I am trans or gay because I am not suicidal I am lucky that I was born straight, ngl.
  5. @Leo Gura I understand. But I am actually not sure about the goal of it. With what you are teaching, it's clear that the goal is understanding and god realization. But what about all the physical practices? Sure, they make you feel good and can be used for emotional regulation, but what is the long-term point? I didn't notice any lasting mental changes from meditation or breathwork.
  6. @Leo Gura I understand the issue with "brainless" spirituality. Are there any pros for doing it? Were there any long term benefits after all the meditations, breath work practices, and yoga sessions?
  7. Wow, you know her so well. Some nice judgements there. You, of course, made this comment because learning is your highest priority.
  8. @Talinn true, I would have never told my parents that I want to transition. Or even that I am gay, lol. This is definitely an issue for many people
  9. But who cares if Elon Musk regrets it or not. What's important is if his kid regrets it or not. And they don't. They seem quite happy.
  10. Yes, but upon re-read, it felt to me like Leo just made a general comment, making his own point, and then you asked him to elaborate, even though he didn't really feel like it. Just my perspective. I didn't catch it when reading your discussion for the first time. I mostly got triggered by Leo shitting on stage green so much
  11. To be fair, you did quote him first, several times, actually.
  12. What's epistemological bypassing?
  13. The way I see it, the moment when you start thinking that you are really conscious and can easily spot deception, is the moment when you become the most vulnerable to getting deceived. I prefer to stay humble and only take life advice from people who I respect and who I know have high integrity.
  14. @Starlight321 I think that she is justified in how she feels because there were issues with how Leo brought this topic up.
  15. Okay. I will try to notice that. I know you said that that JP interview is not serious, but there they were talking about Musk's AI. Jordan Peterson was asking him about the dangers of AI and Elon acknowledged them, but used the standard justification about how it's going to be developed either way, so I might as well participate and make sure that it's done right. When it came down to specific of what it means to "do it right", it boiled down to them thinking that the main issue is that ChatGPT is too woke and that they need to find a way to make sure that their AI doesn't catch this woke virus... I guess my point is that how do you look at someone separately from their politics when "politics", in a broad sense, guide their every decision.
  16. @Leo Gura what things about Elon did you emphasize with the most?
  17. @Starlight321 I think this is the issue some people might have with those kinds of videos. If you caught Elon being dishonest before, how do you know if any of that is true or if he is saying it to make himself look good?
  18. I think that's an amazing thing to practice. I feel like if you put it in those words from the beginning, just being neutral and sharing your experience, more people would be open to trying it.
  19. He is arrogant. He is arrogantly calling others selfish, evil, hedonistic, not even bothering to investigate whether its true or not. Not my fault that you are blind. Where did I identify myself as anything? Like I said, I don't even remember talking to you. Nice assumptions. You know me so well. Seriously, did I lose my memory and you are my 20-year-long friend? This is just objectively not the case. If you look at real reality, you will have a super hard time finding examples of unconditional compassion and inclusivity. Mind giving me some? On the other hand, almost everyone feels conditional compassion on some level. It is totally human. When he talks about anti-natalists being crazy and selfish psychopath, I feel compassion for anti-natalists for being so misunderstood and wrongly accused. Because I talked to some anti-natalist people, and they were super sweet, kind and self-less. I don't feel compassion towards JP for twisting truth and trash talking about others like that.
  20. @Leo Gura if I can give some unasked for feedback, I wish you brought that up in a gentler way. You did sound kind of harsh and dismissive. And "you are stuck at stage green" can sound like an unfair personal attack, especially if a person thinks that it's not true.
