Yeah, that's my opinion now as well. Initially, I was not sure because I thought that regular women feeling comfortable and safe is also important, but after thinking about it more, I've realised that you can't regulate access to public bathroom based on how comfortable someone is "with other people". And the safety argument like: "what if some pervert guy pretends to be trans" is bad because trans people should not suffer and be held responsible for actions of other bad actors in the society. Also, like mentioned by @Elliott, nothing is really stopping some perv from sneaking into a women's bathroom and hiding in an empty stall anyway.

You could say the same about black people using the same bathroom 50 years ago. So I don't think that's a good argument.

@Emerald I wanted to ask about people's opinion on the male/female bathroom question when it comes to trans people. And also about trans people in competitive sports. I actually had some good discussion about this on reddit (before I got perma-banned, lol) and am now leaning mostly towards thinking that both of these are not such a big deal and that: - trans people should be able to use the bathroom of the gender they transitioned to - trans people should be able to compete in sports as the gender they transitioned to, unless there were some factual studies done for this particular sport that show trans people having an unfair advantage. If you have any thoughts on the above, I would still love to hear them though. Regarding being bisexual, I was actually curious about it too. Do you think most bisexual people are like you? As in, can most bisexual people be fine with just being in a relationship with a single partner of whatever gender and that's it. Or do most bisexual people are bisexual in a sense that they feel like they need to have multiple partners?

I just went bowling and then went to a bar with my co-workers. Nothing crazy, just spending time together and chatting about random things. And I just feel like living now. It is like I am filled with natural motivation for life. I was hesitant if I should go, I was actually regretting promising to go and wished that I could just spend some time at home as usual. But now I am super happy that I did. I didn't even contribute to the conversation all that much (although I've contributed more then I usually do, and I think I did really well in general). If someone reading this is struggling with depression and anxiety, I think this might be a super simple, almost magic pill solution to it. You don't need to become a pickup artist and turn it into some crazy self-improvement journey. I think that simply finding people to go out with once in a while, in a casual, friendly way, can be life changing.

How about starting with not having a joke of a president? What would prevent the creep of laxity is if there wasn't a 5 year old kid in the president's office telling the president of the United States to shut his mouth. You can't expect people to have respect for laws and government when the ruling elite is bending laws however they see fit. Most people feel like Elons and Trumps of this world could literally do anything they want and face zero consequences. How is it a surprise when they grab a gun as the last recourse left?

But even so, I am not sure how this changes my main point about how our current justice system isn't actually always just and isn't actually always right. You yourself acknowledge the corruption. And I know your thoughts on Trump. Why would you believe that a society so corrupt that it chooses Trump for its president should have a death penalty? It's basically guaranteed that it will be abused and misused. And your only argument for why it's better than a life sentence is that you don't want to waste precious resources on criminals? How is this even relevant considering all the other wastefulness that's going on? According to chat gpt: In 2022, 20 people were sentenced to death. In 2021, 18 people were sentenced to death. How much can it possibly cost to keep those people alive, for it to be such a concern? A year of Trump golfing for their whole life time?

You could try to evaluate what would be better for humanity in a long term. And who is to say, maybe what Luigi did will be a net positive thing eventually. Are you able to predict the end result of everything that's happening? I am not. I don't think you understood me correctly. I am just saying that with different group of people taking power, "justice" and what's good / harmful to society would suddenly do a 180. Would this have anything to do with what's actually good to humanity? No. So what I am trying to say is that since our concepts of justice and good/bad are so flimsy and are not grounded in anything real, then maybe we shouldn't be playing with death sentences willy nilly? People hanging them would be the state by then. That's the issue. Just like when communists took over power in Russia. Once again, I am just trying to say how relative all those notions of harm to society are. Which is why I am advocating against death penalty period. I am sure a priest in middle ages could make an argument that heresy against God is more harmful then murdering a single person.

To society or to status quo and people in power? If some kind of social revolution happened tomorrow, Trump and Elon and all those CEOs would be hanged. And something tells me that people would have used the same "harm to society" argument. Would killing them be okay then? Today, it's not okay, but tomorrow it would be fine. Why? Did something about Trump or Elon change? No. The group in power changed. So now different things are considered "harmful to society". In middle ages, you would be considered harmful to society for the stuff you teach, and you would be hanged or burned alive. Would you be defending death penalty then?

So maybe we shouldn't have death penalty if our society is so corrupt? Maybe we should solve the corruption before deciding who deserves to be killed and who doesn't? If Luigi is sentenced to death over this, there will be nothing just about it. It will be clearly done simply become he dared to kill a higher class person. There are people who murder others and get like 5 years in prison. Also, there is a question of who gets to be the judge. In this case Luigi decided that he can be a judge and murder a corrupt CEO, clearly thinking that he deserves it. How is this different? Just because the actual judges represent the system, doesn't mean that their judgement is inherently any more just or any wiser. They are still just regular humans.

@Emerald and I think this is what pickup promises. At least the kind of pickup Leo talks about, as I didn't watch other advise much. You suck at making a conversation? Your voice trembles and you stutter? You get super anxious and afraid when talking to women? Approaching a lot will fix that. And that will improve your chances of finding a partner. Sure, you might still feel like you are not good enough because of your looks, or feel insecure on some deeper level, but just fixing those will already objectively improve your chances. I feel like this is the place most men who want to "fix" themselves come from. Not literally from the place of shame and self-hate like: "If I don't get at least one girl I approach today to like me, then I am a pathetic piece of shit who doesn't deserve to live". Obviously that's an unhealthy mindset to have, but I think those are extreme edge cases. And I am not defending pickup btw. I would actually love for you to share some better alternative. I just don't know of any myself. I've made a thread about speed dating the other day. But it's basically the same thing. You put yourself into an uncomfortable situation where you are forced to talk to a bunch of women in a short amount of time. Very similar to cold approaching. A bit more organized and more socially acceptable.

@Emerald Also, I think we should distinguish feeling shame and being insecure about being not good enough. I don't think I have much shame about not being good enough, but I do sometimes feel like I am not good enough. And then make a distinction about being good enough for yourself / existentially and being good enough practically / for other people. Like sure, I can recognize that I am good enough the way I am, that I deserve love and have a right to exist, and I shouldn't feel like I should achieve something special or whatever for that. Sure. But am I good enough as in am I good enough for women to say "I like this guy and I want to be with him"? Am I good enough for people at work to promote me to a manager position? Am I good enough to start a successful business? I don't know, I don't feel like I am at the moment. What is your proof that I am good enough for women? You don't really know me much. You definitely don't know Aion, and other people here much. I, on the other hand feel like I have a lot of good reasons to not feel good enough. Like the fact that I've never had a girlfriend in my 25 years on earth and never had a moment where I felt like somebody is attracted to me. Just sharing the thought process for you to understand this point of view better. And I don't think that all the wanna be pickup artists and manipulators on this forum feel much shame either. Insecurity? Sure. But I am not sure about shame. They seem pretty shameless and self centered to me, actually.

@Emerald how do you distinguish "I need to fix myself" because I am paranoid about not being enough and genuinely lacking dating skills and wanting to use pickup to improve that because you don't really know a better option? Are all worries about lacking "skills" ultimately just being insecure about not being enough? It's hard to do that when you feel like you are fighting for your survival. You would need to feel pretty safe in life to adopt that mentality. Elon Musk can be a kid in Disney World, he has got billions of dollars, he can do whatever he want and not be worried about the consequences. If I act like a kid in Disney World, I might lose my job, or get rejected from my already tiny social circle, or get publicly embarrassed.

@Emerald the question is how do you get rid of shame in a reliable and predictable way. Pickup is attractive because it give people a simple practical approach to the issue. You go out and approach. You approach 1000 people you will get better and you fear and shame will probably also get much easier to handle. You could even create a more complicated program, like a workout plan. Because you have specific numbers and parameters to work with. While "get rid of shame" advise seems really wishy washy. Like how do you do that? If most people could get rid of shame, I feel like they would.

thanks, I actually was able to find some locally. And no major issues so far? I assume you are able to afford going to the dentist regularly and fixing whatever cavities you get, if you get any? So you think that just keeping your mouth clean and bacteria free should be enough for your body to sustain teeth on its own?

@Leo Gura how come it seems like there are zero checks on executive power or like they are not working at all? How can one person be allowed to do so much damage? I remember you saying that places like Iran couldn't sustain democracy and liberal values because their development level was too low. But now it seems like basically any country, no matter how developed it is according to spiral dynamics and such, can drop into chaos and corruption at the click of your fingers.

I don't even oppose what you've said that much. At least some of it. Sure what he wants is quite primitive or whatever. I just don't like people who are arrogant and mean to others.
