I sat down 30 minutes contemplating this question-- How do I reduce my suffering due to external circumstances? Answers - .By realising that they fluctuate like switch . By realising that they are just in my mind . By realising that other's actions, words, attitude towards me is reflection of their own thoughts . By realising that other's are not within my control . By realising that I am imagining external circumstances . By realising that in the far future I won't look back at them . By realising that external circumstances doesn't mean anything . By realising that suffering due to it is temporary

@Leo Gura But what about acceptance of suffering ? I noticed many times that when I accept it I begin to smile no matter how much I am in emotional pain. I used to have a fantasy that positive psychology will cure my pain but as soon as I discovered acceptance of suffering via Acceptance and commitment therapy-- I began to engage with pain How to overcome the challenge of people disrespecting you and being haunted by the past ?

@Leo Gura I have one question -- How to find peace amidst emotional suffering ? Regarding this I have noticed that accepting it reduces the amount of suffering. Also when I took a perspective regarding the inevitable nature of suffering I noticed myself smiling once while suffering this morning. And am unrelated question --According to you which spiral stage does Martin Seligman belongs ?

Hope you live happily with what will come in the unknown future.

How do I act in my life? Insight : According to my rational thoughts which don't feel hurting but neutral.

Before acting in a given situation , is it a sign of intelligence to first be present then think through and then act ? or just thinking through and acting is intelligence ?

@Leo Gura Honestly speaking I am thinking of restarting my contemplation. So sitting in a room with a diary and writing at top the following questions : 1.What is success ? 2. How do I become successful ? 3. How do I stop chasing success desparately ? 4. How do I improve in the things that I do ? And thinking through each of these on my own or using direct experience for each of these ? Another good episodes of your are: How to contemplate using a journal. The power of asking questions.

@Leo Gura And the remaining 5%? 😂

@Leo Gura Your episode -- What is actuality ? pulled me out of intense suffering in 2018 December. Thanks.

@Leo Gura Yeah action is important in every domain of life. Otherwise thoughts remain just mental gymnastics. Even in career massive action is important.

NoSelfSelf abused me few months ago. Here is the screenshot of whole conversation. I once started talking to him about game so that he could help me. However, regarding his approach to game it felt like narcissism. Thanks.

@Leo Gura Ok. Did you mean it for being present or for meditation ? As per meditation I am already meditating since, 5 years. -

@Leo Gura Right now I listened to one of his YouTube videos and he said that to be present we must be aware of surroundings rather than interpreting them. -

@Leo Gura What about reading books like Meditations by Marcus Aurelius and What the Buddha taught by Walpola Rahula ? Is reading them a waste of time ? But they have helped me. By the way I am struggling to remain in the present moment which is sabotaging my tranquility. Could you give advice to me of how to stay present even though thinking is important ? -
Guys, maybe I'm wrong. He tried to help me. If anyone is feeling bad due to my post then I'm sorry.

@Chadders Thanks.

@Chadders You are right. By the way I was not trying to learn game but rather fixing an issue with him such as negative emotions. Till then I didn't know to how to deal with it. Later I came to know , I mean during last year or more precisely August 2024 to overcome suffering I have to accept it. It was based on Acceptance and Commitment therapy. Before that I used to suffer a lot , still I suffer but the suffering is relatively reduced since, I began accepting my negative emotions. I don't have problem with most of his interaction with me on discord only the last line and that's it. Initially when I noticed it I became anxious but later those feelings faded away. As per Leo's series I fed notes of his videos from the YouTube comment section into AI and it said that it is more about casual encounters. However, later I bought the book Models by Mark Manson and read it more than twice. And that book helped me. Even though I still get ignored , rejected but that's ok.

Rishabh R replied to Asia P's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Asia P Sorry to say but suffering will always be there in life. The only thing you can do is reduce it because eliminating it is impossible and backfires. -
@NewKidOnTheBlock Nope. But he told that he teaches something.

@Schizophonia Isn't setting boundaries a constructive thing ? Is hiding abuse a form of inauthenticity ? I didn't have the intention to create drama but being honest.

I don't know why people think that I am crying when I tell that they are hurting me. I am not taking advantage of someone who is not around here but just delivering the message here regarding his behaviour. As per my weakness I have completely owned my weakness by getting bullied , abused in the past by both men and women or more precisely boys and girls. Thanks.
