Hi! Here are my favorite ideas from "Steal Like An Artist" by Austin Kleon. I hope you like it, and that you'll take the time to give me some feedback on how I can improve my videos! :-)
-
@Zane I highly enjoyed the book too, Zane, and thank you for your book suggestions; they are added to my reading list! :-)
-
@superman That's exactly what I've experienced (with meditation) too! It's so much easier to keep focusing on the task at hand at the exclusion of everything else, by training the mind by meditation.

@Bob84 Thank you, Bob, I'm glad you're still with me! :-)

Here are some great ideas for developing your charisma! Please let me know if you spot anything I can improve in my video :-)
-
@Sam Great Hey, Sam! I can see how all of the concept words are hard to get immediately for people who haven't read the book, so I will be more deliberate about choosing easier words from now on. Thank you for your feedback and your kind words, I really appreciate it :-)

@Harry Haha, funny you should say that! I've just read The Charisma Myth by Olivia Fox Cabane, where a great tip for exuding more charisma is to lower the pitch at the end of sentences. I have started to try fixing it. You wouldn't mind watching this short video to check whether I have improved?

@smd I've also been noticing the robotic tendencies, and therefore I have started practicing more before I shoot the videos, in the hope of seeing improvements. As for the monotone voice, I'll do my best to vary it more. Thank you very much for your feedback!

Here are some great ideas I found in Ryan Holiday's book "Ego is the Enemy". I hope you find them as valuable as I did, and I'd be delighted to receive feedback from you on how I can improve my videos! :-)

@Alex4 I can only give you my opinion, but whether you follow it is totally up to you. I can relate to the frustration you feel when making mistakes, or when other people make mistakes and are showing lazy attitudes. What I've found to be particularly helpful, is to accept my mistakes, immediately figure out what I did wrong, and then decide on how I can do better next time. And for when other people make mistakes, I've realized that there's no use in yelling or arguing - it's easier to accept that some people just aren't inspired to do their best, but not let it affect my attitude. (One fun trick is to imagine yourself far above the playing field, looking at all of these small people moving back and forth inside a big square on the ground) I've found that the problem seems a lot smaller then. I hope this was helpful, and I'm sure you'll handle this well!

Hey! If you are stressed out in some area of your life right now, I have some good news for you: Kelly McGonigal (stress researcher) has actually found out that the way we look at stress determines whether it's harmful or not for us, and that we can utilize stress as a powerful resource. Check out the video for more information on how you can use stress as a resource, instead of being a victim of it. I'd be glad to hear your opinion about the ideas I present to you! :-)

@art Thank you very much for the honest feedback, I'll start making videos without the music :-) Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see improvements in!

I can see how we can contribute extraordinarily by giving a percentage each, and if that was the norm, maybe our world would be better off. A thing I've realized, though, is that it's easier to change yourself than to change others, so I am choosing to do everything I can to make an impact in people's lives. I value your opinion, and I may alter my beliefs as I discover more in life.

@Xpansion I totally agree that one shouldn't have a burning desire for anything that exceeds one's own needs, EXCEPT if it's for something greater than personal gains. For me, it isn't a desire for money itself that's the intention - it's the desire to open up my mind for more ways of making money, such that I can contribute in a more meaningful way to more people. What is your opinion on my last claim?
-
Ah, so what you mean, is that instead of just saying what ideas I'll be talking about, I also summarize in one sentence what the ideas consist of?
-
@Bob84 I totally agree, I believe it's best to not get too caught up with what people think of you, but rather pay attention to the constructive feedback. Do you mean an intro for the channel?
-
@JevinR That's a great tip, Jevin, I will do that later as I start making courses! :-) Right now it's all about the volume, teaching as many ideas as possible, DOING THE WORK to build up my skills.
-
@Bob84 I agree, and one of my strong focuses is trying to get people tell me what they think about how I make the videos, so I'm thankful that you're giving it straight to me. What I do with these videos, is to present five ideas from books in a way that people can use the ideas, and get inspiration for reading the books themselves, if they find the ideas helpful. It's not about selling yet; it's rather a building of audience, getting feedback to improve, such that I can eventually deliver products with leverage. I see how I can be more confident in my videos, most likely by practicing more than I do before shooting. Thank you for your feedback, Bob, I really appreciate it, since it's helping me learn what I can do better. Don't hesitate on giving me more feedback on other videos, given that you find them helpful and/or interesting!

@Bob84 Thank you for the honesty, Bob! Is there anything in particular that was extra boring, that I can improve?

Here are five great ideas you can embody to grow your grit, which is the sustained passion toward a field or subject over a long period of time! I hope you like it, and I would be delighted to get some constructive feedback from you, on how I can improve in the delivery of these ideas :-)
