  1. Hi! Here are my favorite ideas from "The Practicing Mind" by Thomas M. Sterner. It's a book that'll help you develop focus and discipline in your life by focusing on the present moment instead of just the goal that is far away from being reached. I hope you enjoy!
  2. @Danielle Haha, the wisdom you share never ceases to surprise me! I also agree that it IS a product of the human mind - not something that really "exists."
  3. Hey there! Here are my favorite ideas from "Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl. It's a book that deals with the question to the meaning of life, in addition to describing the experiences of a prisoner in the death camps of Nazi Germany during World War 2. I hope you enjoy!
  4. @Danielle Hey, Danielle! Thank you very much for posting that video - I also believe that "happiness" is the meaning of life. And when I (and anyone I read about, see, or talk to) talk about "meaning," happiness is usually the core of it all. In other words, meaning = happiness What do you think about that perspective?
  5. Hey! Here are my favorite ideas from "The Confidence Gap" by Dr. Russ Harris. It's a book that'll teach you how to develop your confidence, by overcoming fear and self-doubt. I hope you enjoy! :
  6. @Alicja_ Haha, WOW, that's a great quote, Alicja! And thank you for your thoughts.
  7. Hey! Here are my favorite ideas from "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius. I hope you enjoy, and you can feel free to tell me what I could have done better in the video!
  8. Here are my favorite ideas from "Willpower" by Roy Baumeister and John Tierney. It's a book that teaches us (among other things) how we can improve our willpower, and more importantly, how we can avoid using it at all. I hope it might help you counter temptations, and stay committed to what's most important to you!
  9. @heisenburger Haha, that's a great question Well, the core reason is that I LOVE reading and sharing ideas with people. Books are the base of all the work I do. Then, more practically: In Norway we students are so fortunate as to be guaranteed a $8,000 dollar loan + $5,000 dollar scholarship each year. In addition to that, I work two part time jobs; one as a teacher's assistant, and one as a cleaning boy at the local gym. I hope that helped!
  10. Hey there! Here are my favorite ideas from "Daring Greatly" by Brenè Brown. I hope you receive some value from it. :-)
  11. Hey! Here are my favorite ideas from "The Seasons of Life" by Jim Rohn. I hope you like it, and I'd be delighted to receive some feedback from you on how I can improve my videos :-)
  12. @Aamir King Hey, Aamir! I'm glad you like the videos. Also, thanks for letting me know, I really appreciate it!
  13. Hey! I found some great ideas in Brian Johnson's book, "A Philosopher's Notes." My favorite one is Aretè - living at your highest potential, moment-to-moment-to-moment. I hope you like it!
  14. Hey! I found some super-helpful time management ideas in "Master Your Time, Master Your Life" by Brian Tracy! I hope they can help you become more productive and/or less stressed in your work/life.
  15. @bazera Thank you very much, bazera, I appreciate that. And it's my pleasure!
  16. @Hengame It's my pleasure, and thank YOU for reaching out!
  17. Hey there! I found some awesome ideas for influencing people in the classic book "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. I hope you find some of these ideas helpful, and that you'll point out one thing I could improve in the video. :-)
  18. Here are my favorite ideas from "The Personal MBA" by Josh Kaufman. I hope you receive some benefit from them, and I'd be very happy if you give me some constructive feedback on my presentation of the ideas!
  19. Ahh, so you're kind of using a structure of "explanation/definition --> own experiences/other relevant information --> clear action steps"? I like the idea of cutting down large sections into smaller sub-points, since I actually write blog posts on the ideas in more detail before I record. I'll try doing the same as you, and see how it works out! And yes, I really liked the color blue, and will consider a darker color for my next (and more serious) launch of logo and new name.
  20. Is that what you're currently doing in your videos? Recording yourself reading off a script, and then shooting? Yes, I'd like to hit viewers between ages 18 and 35, who are interested in optimizing their lives in small increments over a long period of time. Bookworms, entrepreneurs, self-actualizers etc. as you say Would you recommend to tone down the blue color I currently use for my logo, to a darker blue? Other than that, my t-shirt was a bit of a "failure" (since I read in The Charisma Myth that people get tired of looking at orange quickly), but I've learned not to do that for later! Again, thank you for your feedback, AND your suggestions. I especially like the "Stepping stones on the path of life mastery"-style tag-line!
  21. Hey, Lotus! I admire that you are so open to showing vulnerability. First, I'd like to acknowledge the fact that I'm a lot younger than you (20), and that I'd be stupid to think I have the answer to everything. Therefore, I'll just give you some advise that has worked well for me. One part is from the book "Born for This" by Chris Guillebeau, a book which is written to help you find the work you feel like you're born to do. Here's the advise: “Try a lot of things. Over time, you discover something that requires more of your time and attention – and that’s when you switch to focusing more and more on that one thing.” It's about trying several things which may suit your interests, and then decide upon what you eventually would like to put all of your (work) energy in to. Another great tip I found in Cal Newport's book "So Good They Can't Ignore You", is how we should focus on developing some skills in an area first instead of first finding out what we're passionate about: The Passion Hypothesis: “The key to occupational happiness is to first figure out what you’re passionate about and then find a job that matches this passion.” So, try a lot of things, and find a skill that's valuable and that you want to get good at would be my advise. I wish you well in improving your life situation :-)
  22. Hey, Liam, this is a great topic! I found the movie "Hector and the Search for Happiness" really moving, because Hector - the main character - travels around the world to search for happiness, while he finds out that the best source of happiness is not to be found outside himself, but inside :-)
  23. @Emerald Wilkins Thanks a LOT, Emerald, you've got some golden advice there! I've been a bit mechanical, largely because I'm a native Norwegian (no excuse), and the other reason is that I have been shooting without practicing a few times before I recorded => I'll practice more, such that I can be more relaxed and conversational. Better lighting will be coming up by new year! And the branding sounds very important. I've been thinking something like "more wisdom in less time", but that's the slogan for Brian Johnson, word for word. Another thought is to shoot for "the greatest collection of life mastery wisdom". Regarding the personality, I am going to make an effort to show more enthusiasm in my videos, instead of being so mechanical. Lastly, I've been thinking about changing names on my channel, to something that conveys "life mastery" in a better way. Do you have any thoughts on this? :-)
  24. Hi! Here are my top 5 ideas from "Leading An Inspired Life" by Jim Rohn. I hope you like it, and feel free to give me feedback on how I can improve my videos! :-)
