  1. @NTOgen Yes it's true. Even though my topic was intended as slightly ironic. In the way of that people are very quick to judge people who do not seem 'brave' in the eyes of society but having an ego is in itself is a very brave thing to do. We look down on people who struggle with anxieties and fears and we give them no sympathy. And people who struggle with these problems simply don't know how to get rid of the fears, because the fear is rooted within ignorance, within ego. The best thing our society can come up with is useless psychotherapy and drugs, always drugs. Society is not willing to look at the core of all personal problems carefully, because of ego. The collective ego has too much invested in this game to give itself up.
  2. What I am getting at is that it is virtually impossible to get an inadequate protein intake provided that the person consumes sufficient calories. Even die hard raw fruitarians, whether they seem to have certain deficiencies or not, do not show any signs of protein deficiency diseases. Again, if they consume the needed total calories the body requires to sustain a healthy body weight. Of course the body needs amino acids to thrive, it just does not need animal protein for it to do so. And the amount of protein people think they need is vastly overestimated.
  3. There has never been a protein deficiency disease detected at a person with adequate caloric consumption. Protein deficiency symptoms occur at people who are starving.
  4. Inner and outer are the same thing, that is the true realization. Putting this emphasis on "inner evolution" just aggrandizes the ego, it loves terms like this. The ego loves to "grow" itself.
  5. You are trying to get rid of the ego, or as you slyly say, "see through the ego". Well, that is just ego, it's the ego that wants to see through the ego. But obviously, it really doesn't want to do that because that would mean the end to him. The ego isn't like a cancer you can just cut out and be done with it. It has to be placed in the correct perspective, a perspective which is beyond concepts. You say you have gained awareness, but what does that mean really apart from being able to label some of your experiences? Gaining awareness is not adding more concepts to your reality, it's also not about getting rid of any concepts as well, It's about realizing the underlying truth that pervades all of existence. If you want to transcend the ego you have to go beyond all concepts and labels, yet without negating anything in your experience. There is no easy answer here. No person can give you a truly satisfactory answer because you already possess the truth, there's nothing here for you to know. And a substance is definitely not going to give you the answers you desire.
  6. Notice, every single moment a thought arises, a thought dies. A sensation arises, a sensation dies. A sound arises, a sound dies, an image arises, an image dies. You don't think twice about it when it happens, because you are still there. When the body dies, you don't think twice about it, you are still there.
  7. A common trap is people are trying to objectify awareness, they are looking for a state or an object as awareness. But you will never find it. Try to look past all the sensations, concepts, thoughts. Try to look at your direct experience as critically as you can, without thinking about enlightenment, perceiver, consciousness etc. The truth of reality is right here presently.
  8. If you really want to get real and not buy into the Hollywood version of love then you first have to accept that you can never love a "person". Love between separate entities does not exist. True love is always a love for the self, the self meaning consciousness or awareness, not the ego. The reason separate ego's can experience love is because a romance can relieve their feelings of being a separate self. But it's not the other person that is responsible for this relieve, it is always consciousness itself that is relieving itself from the illusion of separation. If you believe that you can only feel this love when you are in a relationship with a partner, you will always feel anxious about losing that love. You will always project that love in that person, you have put a condition on love. If you want "real love", you have to recognize first that the love is in you. Love is not between people. When you recognize true love within you, then you will attract the right person to compliment your life. The relationship will be an expression of true love, yet not dependent on the two people who are involved in it(if that makes sense).
  9. It's not the ego, or the body, that has awareness. The ego and the body appear in awareness. You also can not become more or less aware, you can only realize that there is only awareness. If it is possible to become more or less aware it implies that there is a separate awareness within the body hidden somewhere, which there is not. A sensation appears, just as a thought appears, an image appears etc. All within one consciousness. And this one consciousness can not be objectively found within manifestation because awareness is the totality of the manifestation. Just like a mirror, you can only see the reflections that appear within the mirror, you can never see or imagine the mirror without the reflection.
  10. When any product/teacher promises you permanent succes with women/money/health/enlightenment it's a scam. Not saying it can't help, or it's totally useless, but it's impossible to guarantee success in anything in life. Especially a topic like enlightenment is very nuanced and individual dependent.
  11. Why then has there never been a recorded case of a person dying - or even being sick - from protein deficiency? Regardless of being vegan or not. The only thing people die of, pr get sick, is calorie deficiency, aka starvation. You gave yourself way of not knowing much about nutrition when you mentioned bone broth as a good protein source. The protein in bone broth is gelatin which is not a complete protein and can't be used in the human body.
  12. Simply by being here you have already decided that it's worth it, so yea. Don't be too harsh on yourself.
  13. Hey man, Realize that every single person on this earth is always trying to do the best they can, even if it seems they are not. It's just when people are in a contracted state they, seemingly, always make the wrong decisions. I'm sure you yourself have had experiences where you were overcome with intense emotions(whether it be lust, anger, greed, jealousy or whatever) and made some stupid decisions in your life. Doesn't mean you are a bad person, it's just life's way of saying to open yourself up. Everyone carries around emotional scars. Your parents have scars, their parents also had scars. Scars, when opened up, automatically triggers a defense response which put people in a contracted state and make them seem like assholes. But it really isn't their fault, I'm not saying you can never put blame on a person, it's just that a person always deserves sympathy and understanding because what they went through, you went through the exact same thing. There isn't really such a thing as 'evil' in this world. Only people trying to do the best they can with the knowledge and understanding they possess, and sometimes that understanding is severely lacking which results in a lot of friction with the environment. I'm sure we all can relate to our parents being total clueless jerks to us but it simply couldn't be any other way. If your parents knew how they could relieve themselves of the trauma they sustained they would have already dealt with it in stead of lashing out to the world. Because, as you are now realizing yourself, walking around with trauma is never fun. At our core we are all unconditional love, including your dad. His life experiences just caused it to block itself off and as a result of that he is incapable of expressing his love to you in open and a direct way. Don't judge him for it. I know it's hard because when you see your father you only see the manifestation of the blockages but try to realize that behind that there truly is love present.
  14. It's not an intellectual realization. It's integrating the experience of 'fear' within the totality of your experience and seeing that all the 'fearful' experiences aren't fundamentally any different than all the other experiences, even experiences of 'love'. Of course, when you are still operating from a different paradigm these experiences definitely feel different from each other(i.e. Fear = bad, love/joy = good). If you try to get rid of fear it's never going to work since that implies that there are objects/experiences that are not valid within consciousness. But in the eyes of consciousness every experience is holy since it is consciousness itself. Ponder this, how can you ever overcome fear if you secretly fear fear itself? You can't ever truly overcome fear because there isn't anything to overcome, only seeing what it truly is.
  15. That statement is lacking a lot of nuance. You have to see fear for what it truly is, it's just a form of contraction. Without contraction there wouldn't even be such a thing as this manifested universe, without fear there wouldn't be you. Fear is not evil, fear is love, just a matter of realizing it.
  16. There is no such thing as conditional love, if it is conditional it isn't love. And the only thing that is unconditional is pure consciousness/being, you could say that consciousness and love are the same thing. If you define enlightenment as the realization and the merging with consciousness then that also means that person aligns with unconditional love. By the way, love can express itself in a countless number of ways. Even hate ultimately consists purely out of love. Just because Mooji expresses himself in such a heartfelt and emotional way doesn't mean he is more loving than guru's who express themselves in a more intellectual or impersonal way.
  17. Who is it you think that is feeling/seeing things right now in your experience? If it is a person, where can you find this person located in your direct experience? You are not a body, you are not a thought, not even the seeming continuation of these things. You can't die because you were never there in the first place. Imagine seeing an intact eggshell, you immediately assume there is eggwhite/yolk in it, or a developing chick. But when you open it up you see it's totally empty, you just imagined the contents. When you see someone die, nothing really dies because there was nothing in that body that has any true substance that made that body a "person". The same goes for the concept of time. You assume your life happens within this container of time. Like time is this force that is propelling this universe from time-slot A to time-slot B every moment, and that "you" are just being dragged along with it. That's what people assume, but is that really true in your direct experience? With the concept of time people automatically assume there was a world before they were born and a world after they die. But again, this supposed world that exists somewhere in time, isn't really there. There is just consciousness, and it is not a 'thing' or a person.
  18. A non dual experience is an oxymoron.
  19. I have a problem with the word "surrender" in the context of spirituality. When I think of the word surrender the image comes to mind of me giving myself over to the enemy when I am losing the battle. As a final act of desperation in hopes of acquiring mercy from my foe. But maybe that is just my limited understanding of the term, maybe you have a different interpretation of the word. In Truth, there is no one to be surrendered to anything. There is no battle, there are no enemies. All the games you are playing in life, they are all part of the grand scheme. You can't surrender the game, because you are the game.
  20. The problem is that you can not say that you are God. Because the thing that is saying and thinking that it is God is the ego in this case. God is not a person nor a thing, so nothing can ever claim to be God. I think it's more accurate to say that general experience is divine - or of divine nature - in stead of claiming you are God. You say that you are brainwashed by society, and so it's hard for you to recognize you being God. But your "brainwashing" is also of divine nature. If you try to remove your brainwashing to a new state, in which you can claim yourself to be God. You are just as brainwashed as before.
  21. "Ironically, the the thing you think you are is the only thing keeping you from being the thing you really are." -me "There are no enemies nor competitors in life, what you really want for you is what everyone else wants for you as well" -me "There is no such thing as love, merely the absence of ignorance, which you might call love" -me I apologize for the pretentiousness by quoting myself
  22. The Afterlife is the same as the Beforelife. Take it as you will.
  23. Do the activities in which you feel you are getting the most out of. Don't let guru's convince you that certain kinds of meditations are useless. There are a lot of guru's who say that it doesn't matter what you do since in truth you are already enlightened. And that is true, everyone and everything is already "enlightened" but that doesn't mean anything if there is still a personal identification with ego. The same goes for the advice of to "just let go". Just letting go is good advice, but only when the student is ready. Like in learning to play a musical instrument. To fully express your art through music you first have to learn to master the notes and the techniques before you can "let go" and let the music flow through your fingers. This isn't a totally fair comparison since everyone can, in theory, become truth realized in an instant. Even though it almost never happens. So... keep practicing, or stop practicing. Find new types of techniques, read new spiritual books. Take a new look at your lifestyle. There is no one right answer. The most important thing is your intention. Be as pure as possible in your intent and the answers will come eventually one way or another. The whole search for enlightenment is one big game of trial and error. It's like you have a huge set of keys and you are trying to figure out which one fits the lock. The only way to find out is to try them one by one until it clicks. Guru's can - maybe - help you in narrowing down your search, but they will never be able to tell you which key fits the lock.
