  1. I read one place where one sannyasin ask OSHO "Why are you so harsh on politicians? Why do you compare them with dogs? Isn't that too much?" (paraphrasing) He said, "Oh, I'm sorry. Sorry for the dogs. I shouldn't have compared dogs with politicians. It's offensive to the dogs." Then he proceeded to say. "If there is one good politician, he must have been eliminated by the political world. Maybe in ancient times, kings were." I may sound like an OSHO fan boy, but he keeps shitting on politicians whenever i listen to his talks on audio. He often compares politics to how the mind works. Is there anything inherently wrong with politics? - to me politics mean governing a city, country, a domain. I just cannot grasp why he hated politicians so much. As if anyone, i mean anyone, 100% of people in politics have not good in them. Quite extreme isn't it? But if you listen to him, that's how he really talks about them!
  2. Socrates once said to a foolish disciple of his, "Why are you crying?" "Because, of all the work you did, they kill you even when you are a good man, that is the problem!" Socrates answered, "Why are you crying, fool! Then do you want me to die as a bad man?!" Shutter island Leo DiCaprio, "I wonder, whether it is better to live as a monster, or die as a good man?" Batman, "You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain" "I would rather betray the world than let the world betray me" A Chinese novel called, three kingdoms, an antagonist says it. Since i was a child (my father always had this philosophy), if a good man were to be trampled upon and spit on, it is better to be a cruel man and trample on other people. That carried on until I watched Leo talk about a few things of enlightenment etc. and he made me think whether this is true or not. I am still caught in this dilemma. Even though it is beautiful to hear it is better to die as a good man than live as a monster, or to fail as a good man than succeed as a cruel man, the only problem is is that we can see so much good men be trampled upon and destroyed and see so little good men be admired and loved. How do you carry out these philosophies? And will you trample on others to succeed or would you rather be spit on and fail?
  3. I feel that a person being able to express his goals is important and healthy. Unfortunately, i am always fearful of it. If people are to offend me, make fun of me etc. Do you guys ever have this? Embarassment in expressing your ambitions?
  4. @Yarco Yep. I had my father do that to me and beat me once badly for doing it. So, later, he realized he did something bad so he apologized. I later made him feel embarassed for what he did and insulted him and made him feel small in front of the whole family and tell everybody what he did. But one quote really sunk deeply in me that if you truly don't want a relationship with someone and not be hurt (so as to not hurt others because I am hurt), i should not even hate him, truly.... So, I decided not even to hate him, so as not to be in relationship with him. Krishnamurti said all that. Really thank him for that, he made me realize how important it was not to hate the man who had hurt you, because that is the greatest growth possible.
  5. @No Self what if it won't hurt after a delay? There are many savages who did not meet any grave consequences for what they did.
  6. @No Self i watched this show of a certain minister of a kingdom trying to his last breath to restore the dream his previous lord had, which was to restors ths han kingdom. The minister went on 5 expeditions to the north waging war after war against what they both thought were tryanical countries ruling china. I know this was very idealogical, but the last scene when the minister failed all attempts to succeed in war, crying and dying with his last breath (but he is a very admired minister throughout all of asia not only china) made me feel that maybe failing aint bad apparently. My god, while i was writing you replied. I was just curious, if it is the fear of karmic revenge you want to love? Because you wrote you dont want to suffer 'future burdens'....
  7. @tricksntraps well... what i am specifically saying is that what if you dont expect anything in return but you dont expect people to spit on you and try to hurt you either for you doing a deed. That is the real question. And that happens a lot believe it or not. Or am i deluded?
  8. @Space yeah. i think being able to say it when necessary and not shy away from it when the situation demands it. I guess that is what i am struggling at right now
  9. May I ask what the near death studies showed?

  11. been there done that. Not good enough.
  12. I don't know. Maybe I always felt people don't like anyone different and likes people who are square and not themselves (isn't this quite true?). Anyways, I'm not trying to advertise my goals and what I want to do to everybody, but I do feel the need to relinquish my fear of expressing or sharing my vision to anybody at least... But by and by, i tried expressing it, and by and by felt wearied by doing it. Feel like I will never get over this fear.
  13. I haven't valued reading very much. Whenever I did research, I used youtube mostly. The only time I read was for doing research papers for school. (Don't like reading for pleasure) Reading self help books are easy. But when it comes to a bit difficult books from literature, philosophy, research papers, or scientific essays, my reading gets way slower. Have no problem reading spirituality, but any reading material that's remotely difficult, my comprehension skills drop almost to 50%. Is this the same with you folks? Am I the only one? Are there resources, books, videos, classes I can take where I can improve my reading ability? I tried those udemy classes where they say i can do speed reading, but it proved to me not effective, and very gimmicky. It seems the biggest detriment to my comprehension skills is i suck with vocab. People say i gotta read more. I am already doing that. Reading hard shit. Is there more I could do?
  14. @Preety_India From new zealand and i never knew politicians could brawl like that.
  15. @Preety_India Is America ever like this? Or europe? Or is this a strictly asian way of doing politics?
  16. @Preety_India Wow. Indian politics... lol. Is Indian totally democratic? I know china is not democratic. We like to show america as the country that did well with democracy. But we forget how india is stilll not very rich with the political system, while china has become quite rich even without democracy.
  17. Do you ever have second thoughts of anyone who has aspirations in doing politics? Like sometimes in the back of my mind i feel a little weird with them
