  1. I had a CT scan and MRI initially. Then I worked with a small team and neuropsychologist to rehab my cognitive abilities. Luckily when I went through initial physical therapy I didn't suffer much in terms of balance etc. My main issues were temporary emotional disregulation. I saw a psychologist for this. CBT and emotional regulation training. I also did lots of mindfulness work for nervous system regulation and environmental management. An interesting side effect of the TBI and rehab was becoming aware of, and gaining a greater depth of understanding behind, the mechanics of my own feeling and emotion systems. I feel the majority of my consciousness work came from this domain and then branched out to truth, philosophy. Have you looked into peptides for your father's recovery? There is some confusion around peptides as they are a new branch of medicines that are used in cosmetic, recovery, muscle growth, healing, insulin treatment and weight loss. In particular BPC-157, TB-500 or Semax. These are all peptides that are showing promise for application in treatment of TBI. I will put forward a warning - these sorts of treatments should come from a solid source through a doctor. Ideally from a compounding pharmacy. There are contaminants created in synthetic peptides that needs to be removed.
  2. If you operate from truth there is no need for any external structure of morality, in my view.
  3. @YIDIRYIDIR gotcha ᕙ(@°▽°@)ᕗ Ngl I deal with much more AI hate and fear mongering off the forums than on. To the extent it has been banned as a topic at all work functions.
  4. I think it is just the overinflated hype most users are against. In particular the overselling is to generate revenue and exploit those who might not understand the topic. If you read the topics there is more nuance than most simply hating on AI. Even those here who are more against it recognise its merit. I think only a couple of users are full on anti-ai.
  5. @UnbornTao creation only guarantees origin. Not authority over outcomes. Emotions are partly automatic. They can also be generated indirectly. Control in this case typically means regulation, not creation. Emotions are generally feedback signals about our internal state. Notice it, observe the emotion. Do not identify with it. Let it pass. This will assist bringing clarity to the listening experience (to make this topic relevant). You aren't going to ever completely control this process.
  6. Do we know how it is programmed?
  7. Anyway, a conversation for some other topic.
  8. @UnbornTao there can only be clarity when you understand and perceive them. Anything else is self deception. You can have distance from them, but we do not have ultimate control. If we aren't aware of them, we simply arent interocepting. They are outside our consciousness. So to think they are absent for this reason is something to be wary of.
  9. I disagree entirely. It is hubris to me to think we can listen and be severed from emotion. There is awareness of them, which can lead to spaciousness. And they are generated by us. This does not mean there is control. C'est la vie
  10. Do you think you can listen and not involve emotions?
  11. This is rolling back into the truth of personal integrity also - actions reflecting words and intent. Congurancy and coherence. Recognition of Self in all.
  12. How can we verify the corrections are right? I always think on this when using ai for any contemplation. It makes me aware I could be outsourcing authority.
  13. @LordFall that line of reasoning won't work if you don't truly understand what consciousness is.
  14. @Joshe nah never heard of it. It's humans. No control. Especially during development.
  15. Hasn't effected my job much - it has assisted with offloading menial admin tasks (meeting minutes, compiling, budget reports). But in terms of estimating and project management / contract administration? No effect. AI can't deal with any sort of plan reading or takeoffs. It has no intuition for estimating because it cannot integrate the process of building and the logistics needed with the plans and written specifications. Even when extracting data it makes HUGE errors that could cost our business tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands, in losses. Our typical bids are between 400k for a small job up to 6mill. It can do some basic plan work, but will never replace my work while AI remains an LLM. And there are no universal standards for plans. So every set is COMPLETELY different. And most plansets are incomplete and rely on design and construct. It simply cannot fill in the gaps. Project management / contracts admin - it can help with interpretation of the legalities when problems arise and we need to lean on the head contact. Really good to feed it a contract and ask for clarification/context. There is legit way too much going on in construction for it to have much of an 'on the ground' effect. It's all people skills, coordination, logistics, material orders, shop drawings and multi-variable shit that goes into building a hospital. You want something done in construction? Pick up the phone. LLMs have zero impact there. Only good for documenting. And even then I have to revise and check. I can touch type out something faster than I can have AI compile and then me fine tooth review it. Meeting minutes for online teams meetings, it has been excellent though.
  16. Time will tell - totally unknown at this point.
  17. Oh yeah, I agree there are problems it will introduce for sure. Workers are becoming the commodity - and women are opting out of helping with that supply. I can already foresee parenting need to be done in a certain, acceptable WAY as dictated by an external body. In my mind it would be a quick fix that would instantly boost birthdates - even if temporarily so we can re-establish stability of population. The new set of problems it would introduce would need to be addressed.
  18. Who's mind isn't still developing in some way?
  19. Pay woman a wage to raise and have kids. It's a risk to our bodies and a full time job to raise a child to adulthood. And do it WELL. Which isn't happening. This would also stop women feeling so unsafe; they wouldn't be trapped in fear not having a living wage and being beholden to just their husbands earnings. I'm telling ya, there are a TON of women who would love to do this, but cannot.
  20. Aussie band - was pretty big when I was eating pills and running around with saucer eyes
  21. Ah! no - I am so sorry to hear this (づ ᴗ _ᴗ)づ♡ Do you think there was some unrest or lack of fulfilment that drove you to gamble? I hope you get back on your feet as soon as you can. I do not know how to express myself here. But you have my compassion. I will put you in my thoughts for my sunrise meditation tomorrow, at dawn 🙏
  22. I've come across this bird and she is great - but I have to disagree. You cannot control your thoughts - you can only control how you REACT to your thoughts. I think she hasn't introspected this nuance just yet. It is how we feel and emote - and the resultant thoughts and renumeration - that we do have control over. Most aren't able to have this meta analysis of their own mind to clearly understand the difference. Once you see it/realise it though, it is powerful. Been one of my biggest tools
  23. This is disgusting. Should we add some rocket fuel to the above smoothie? Into space. My GOD. I know what to envision if I ever want to go on a diet; rocket fuel, kangaroo meat, bone, fur and skin whipped up in a NutriBullet. YUM YUM DOWN THE HATCH
  24. Feel this 100% I experience similar - neither one is better than the other. In fact - no need to judge at all - just neutral & wise discernment
  25. While @Rafael Thundercat has expressed himself with a lack of tact - he does have a point regarding the general formatting, grammer and structure of posting. The content is harder to interpret and understand when presented in certain ways. This is also echoed in the guidelines to maintain quality of content on the forum:
