There probably is one more choice, the Democrats could learn to interact with and help the Trump supporters in some way. I remember 10+ years ago I was still that conservative, simple minded Christian and that version of me would have been a hardcore Trump supporter. I know what it feels like to be in that position. But then I found Leo and changed my life, anything can happen. I realize that what I said before might be too naive, ok maybe Trump will turn America into a fucking joke. But what other option do we have but to accept them and interact with them in some way?

Look, you can't predict what Trump is actually going to do or their results. I don't think things are going to be as dire as you think they are. And even if Trump would destroy the economy or America's hegemony, just position yourself to profit from it. I think Trump would be impreached, taken down from office, and probably imprisoned if he really did something that would seriously harm the US. Trump is not really a dumb guy, he's only a salesguy. Again, I don't believe he's going to do anything that would seriously harm the US. Relax.

Chill down man, wait and see what Trump does first, I mean like do you even think Donald Trump forms the actual policies and does the actual governing himself? He has an almost entirely new administration now, there are capable people at his side to execute the policies that his "avengers" will create. Trump is not even capable of acting like Hitler even if he wanted to, he is just a "paper tiger" as we say in Chinese. Chill down and relax man. Buy some stocks, the market is going up under Trump.

The average voter isn't that aware of how the economy is really doing, what geopolitical tensions there are around the world, and they don't care about whether the US can maintain their hegemony on Earth or not. A big chunk of them are possibly living paycheck to paycheck and things have just worsened for them with the recent amount of inflation, loans being higher. Most Americans are financially stuck and with the amount of stress in their lives, they don't have energy to do research into all the details that are being discussed on this forum. They feel like the "elite" have just no interest in them. The personality and message of Donald Trump just really resonates with them in this situation. If you look at it this way and go to a mid-western town in the United States to spend some time with these folks, you'll fully understand why they chose Donald Trump. They simply want America First.

Let's wait and see what Trump will do first. He's supposed to "resolve" the Ukraine and Russia war before his inauguration, this has the possibility of pushing away many allies if handled improperly. Then he'll slap 60% percent tariffs on a lot of imports, which might raise prices also by 60%. Or he might do nothing and say he never said any of this stuff. -
I guess average folks don't know all the real criterias a president needs, maybe even we don't know all of them. This may be a flaw in the current democracy, but Donald Trump might surprise us. You guys can only let him try.

You seem to be happy.

Go Kamala!

Don't fully embrace it, find a method of treatment that is affordable and healthy. Put in the effort, you hair really determines how you look.

Therapy is definitely effective, especially if you have no idea about your inner psychology. Obviously some therapists are better than others, also there are like hundreds of schools of therapy/psychology, if you find the right therapist for you then that can be a life changer. Any amount of money is worth making that change!

If you knew what underlying attitude you needed, you would have solved the trauma already. I believe the underlying attitude is the solution. It is what you don't know that is keeping these mechanics alive (neurosis, traumas, etc). Of course these mechanics are not wrong and they exist for a reason, to keep you "safe". I believe journaling would help, just as therapy helps. But they don't solve the "problem" because the "problem" is something that has to be realized and faced on, mostly from the emotional standpoint. So what I did was to get enough information and perspectives to allow me to form a new base in my belief system. Then from this base I can find opportunities to will myself to a "higher mental state", let's call it this. These opportunities can only be experienced through real life, so learn to get some close friends, do something exciting, meaningful, or even challenging. Overcoming trauma is really a struggle, but with more experiences, you connect the dots faster.

Could you explain why you love Trump? Curious about your thoughts and feelings about him.

Donald Trump was cooked in the debate, blaming the moderators for doing "a bad job" isn't going to save Trump. Just look at the polls in the swing states now. In my opinion, Donald Trump has to agree to another round of debate with Harris, and he has to get his stuff together and beat Harris on the debate stage or else this isn't going to just be Kamala's night, it's going to be Kamala's year!

I hope you're right, but I don't think independent voters really care about what type of person Trump is or his crimes of the past. I think they care more about the direction of the future, and although they probably do care about the character of the president, Donald Trump didn't show his bad moral side in this debate.

I'm not a Donald Trump supporter and I hope Kamala Harris will win the election, but I think this is the debate that Donald Trump performed the best by far from any primary debate or presidential debate he did before. Trump did not interrupt Harris from speaking, he was polite, he behaved, he did not call Harris any disgusting nickname (except perhaps border czar). Trump was well trained and he spoke very on point. There were times where maybe he did go off script a bit like persisting his crowds were always the largest and no one left during his rallies, but I think he did very well. Kamala Harris did not disappoint, for conscious people it is obvious she performed better during the debate. However I think the main point is Trump did not perform badly, and I believe his supporters would think he actually won the debate. Of course throughout the debate there were lies and question dodging from both side, for example Donald Trump flat out said that when he puts a 20% tariff for all imports, the price would never be paid by the American consumer. When Harris was asked if Trump's tariffs contributed to inflation and then why didn't Biden take out those tariffs, Harris dodged the question entirely. Both candidates were very well prepared and unfortunately I don't think Harris would increase her voter base from this. I hope independent voters who have yet to decide who to vote for can comment in this thread, would be very interesting to see their opinions.

One way to resolve this would be to get into a crowd, try to behave naturally, and see if someone mocks you. If someone mocks you or looks at you with a weird expression, consciously feel into that pain. As you accept your current condition more, you'll be able to direct your energy more into how to change. I know this is a painful method, but this is how I solved this problem for myself.

I think Lex pushed Kanye because Lex believed Kanye was conscious enough for a real discussion. Lex didn't push Trump because he knows there is no point discussing with him. Lex is probably just using Trump to promote his channel.
-
Closed the interview after 15 minutes, I didn't think Lex would allow Trump to keep dodging important questions and non-stop BSing. People vote for candidates that resonate with them, like from a very personal level. Trump has the personality, maturity, and IQ level of the basic average American, especially the Midwest white folks. So he naturally attracts those type of people which I believe is the majority of Americans. However Trump himself is not really dumb, he knows he can manipulate other this way. So he always say what his supporters want to hear, and acts in a way his supporters like. He says only what he believes or what he wants to become true. He has no regard for what the truth is or what people who don't support him feel.

This comment is so on point. However for those who have never experienced amazing sex with hot girls, this can be a huge craving for some people who identify this sort of experience as something "great". If you're able to experience it, then eventually you realize it's nothing. But if you're a nerd who can never get a chance with hot girls, the mind can inflate this imagination and make it a big deal. I think you could pay to have sex with a really hot young girl. If you've never done it, then that would be a good taste. However I'm thinking that might not cut it. What if what you wanted was actually to be a hot guy and attract hot girls naturally? What if you want the hot girl to really like you when you are making out with her? I think it is more of the ego at work here. When I was young, I was never as smart or capable as my classmates. My grades were below mediocre. However instead of accepting who I was, unfortunately I vowed to be as good as the best classmates in the class. So I ploughed through with negative emotions and studied hard, worked hard. After 20 years with a lot of luck, I got into the semiconductor industry and now I am finally capable, making six figures. But when I look back, now I think what was it all for? Why couldn't I be happy with what I had? I'm not even really friends with most of my colleagues who are a bunch of geniuses and weirdos. I really don't know, because I could never be persuaded to change my path before.

I believe that every company has high paying job positions, and you don't necessarily need a high degree to get those positions. You only need to know what kind of experience and responsibility is required for those job vacancies although there may not be a lot of them. The term "high income skill" exists for a reason, and the contents of these skills are usually more mundane than you think. Also high income skills will eventually become normal income skills because once they are found out, lots of people will pursue them lowering the demand for those skill-sets. So you should just do your own thing. If you're able to not think about how much money you make but rather how much basic value you're providing to the market or your company, then you'll eventually elevate to better positions within the company thoughout your years in the same company. However it is common that some positions will never have vacancies, which is why people change jobs to find better chances in another company, possibly a better performing one. But as said above if you're jumping too frequently, your income will also stay very basic as companies need time to trust you. So there's a balance here.

The hostages don't matter at all to the Israeli government, they only want to uproot Hamas which will not happen. The hostages provide the legitamacy for Israel's actions in Gaza and I bet were going to be sacrificed almost from the beginning. Israel is done negotiating with Hamas and only wants to totally annihilate them whilst limiting the amount of damage to themselves.

If you look at Netanyahu's interview on the Lex Friedman Youtube channel, you can see he clearly wants to eradicate all nuclear capabilities of Iran. He claims that the reason he trying to do so is simply because Iran has stated that they want to wipe out Israel. So Netanyahu's methodology is to take out Iran's capability to wipe out Israel before the situation gets out of hand. Clearly he's in the wrong for deliberately killing generals and scientists in Iranian soil, but this is just how extreme Ben and his right-wing military leader's methods are now. And they absolutely don't care what other countries think about them.

If the people who are held responsible for the system are all in stage blue, then there's not a lot that can be done for the system to ascend to orange.

If you want her, it should be quite easy for you to tell her you've reconsidered and would like to try out a relationship with her. True relationships take time to cultivate and it's ok to break up with her if you don't think the relationship works later on. However it is understandable that it hurts when rejecting someone else. This is just my guess but I think you're not 100% sure if you want to be with her because she's not hot enough for you. You want someone better. If this is your mindset, then I think you should just pursue someone hotter as this type of thinking is not suitable for maintaining any long term relationship. You'd just eventually break up with her.

This is a hard question, I had to cut ties with close friends when I was trying to move forward in life. Your friend here, she is likely to project her problems onto everyone else. Only thing you could probably do is to be with her and give her some emotional support. However you have to know you can't really help change her situation and you should create boundaries with her. Obviously you do care about her but if she's not willing to change, then how much time are you willing to spend in a ditch with her?
