  1. What is the difference between anxiety and caution? Here’s what I think: Anxiety is an emotion and a feeling. It is a feeling that doesn’t feel good and causes suffering. It is fixated on things that disastrous things that can happen, but probably won’t. Despite the unlikelihood, anxiety fixated on possibilities. Caution is a neutral process. It does not give any negative feelings that cause suffering. How does one stop being anxious and move to healthy caution?
  2. @Average Investor So is the only point of the test to see whether the chelating is actually working? Why would you not recommend a provoked urine test altogether exactly? @Anirban657 What medication were you prescribed? How long did you have to take it for to get cured? It feels kind of surreal to see anecdotes like these. I’ve only had negative experiences with the medication they gave me. I think they are a hit or miss. A common cause of anhedonia from what I’ve seen on the subreddit is SSRIs.
  3. @Ulax Thanks. What is somatic experiencing? And did you work with an IFS Certified Therapist from the IFS Institute? Thank you! Did you work with an IFS Certified Therapist from the IFS institute Michael? @Ulax @Michael569 Do you guys think it’s plausible to think that one can have lots of trauma but not be aware of it?
  4. @flowboy I don’t see myself ignoring any answers, I’m asking questions. But I’m open to feedback. Unlike something like a carnivore diet, a heavy metal detox isn’t something I can just jump into. If I mess it up, I can be even worse than before. Through research and some videos I’ve seen that some people advise against doing a heavy metal detox until your gut health is fully resolved. Since I still have issues with my gut, I need to be strategic about how I go about this. So I’m asking if it’s worth doing a heavy metal toxicity test even if I am not going to be doing one soon. Just to know whether it’s something I have. The risk comes with the second heavy metal toxicity test where I need to take a chelating agent to provoke the heavy metals. I don’t know how well my body will tolerate that.
  5. @Michael569 Do you think it’s worth doing two Heavy Metal Toxicity tests right now even if I am not certain I will start a detox soon? At least I would know whether I have Heavy Metal Toxicity.
  6. @Olly Is MegaSporeBiotic good? I currently have that, but when I first took it, it made me feel worse. But I took it a year ago, when I had SIBO.
  7. Thanks. How long did it take for you to see results?
  8. @integral What is the probiotic supplement you took? I have been taking the BePure Two probiotic for the past month with no results. I was so confident it would at least do something as I had done a Comprehensive Stool Test which showed that I was lacking a lot of healthy gut flora, I was like "This is it! This has to be it!". But unfortunately I didn't get any results from it.
  9. Reviving this thread — Let's see some more Vision Boards!
  10. @OeaohooWhat does analysis paralysis mean to you?
  11. How do you know it was OCD that caused those? What if it’s those things that caused your OCD? It’s a chicken or the egg question. I think my OCD came from depression. The mind still needs something to do. It still needs to think about something. When it doesn’t have anything positive to think about due to depression removing the positive feelings out of your spectrum of emotions, it will think only neutral thoughts or negative thoughts.
  12. Well shit. Just looked into it and it does fit... made me realise that I do have compulsions, they’re just mental and not external (e.g. washing hands). It has only been at the severity it’s at right now for a month. Hopefully I’ll figure out some way to turn around this negative momentum. I think that OCD and depression go hand in hand. Usually our brains can use positive thoughts and positive visioning to overpower the negative thoughts. But with depression, thoughts and visions that previously felt good to you, or that you were extremely passionate about, no longer spark joy in you - which is a scary part of depression. So since our brain has lost the ability to feel genuinely good, it resorts to staying stuck in survival mode. This is where we are operating from our reptilian brain and constantly looking out for any potential dangers. Do you have (clinical) depression? @LSD-Rumi
  13. I am not quite sure. Mine is also mostly around thoughts. Is that Pure-O? How can I know?
  14. This might work for some people but I wouldn’t recommend this. You’ll probably just end up getting more hooked since your brain adapts to the amount of exertion needed to do the activity. Idly watching YouTube doesn’t require much exertion, so to preserve energy and resources your brain and body will weaken since it doesn’t have a need to be strong Much like how when you stop working out at the gym, your strength weakens because your body doesn’t have any need to preserve that strength, whereas when you are pushing your muscles at the gym on a consistent basis, your body sees the need to adapt and grow itself, which it does.
  15. @LSD-Rumi What was the particular NAC supplement you took? Was it by NOW Foods? And what are your thoughts on inositol for OCD? Do you think it’s worth working one on one with a functional medicine doctor? Most of my past experiences working one on one with people have felt like a waste of time.
  16. @Leo Gura Is it exclusive to the United States? Or is it international? I can't find any in my country on Yelp. @LSD-Rumi Oh boy... I am probably never touching Escitalopram ever again. My psychiatrist prescribed me that a few months ago and it made me severely suicidal. What was the antipsychotic you took? NAC? As in N-Acetyl Cysteine? I have that and had used it previously for my SIBO. Didn't know it could do anything for OCD? It didn't do anything for OCD when I was taking it, what was your dosage? I have also been taking Zinc, Magnesium bisglycinate, and high dose omega 3 (3000mg of DHA-500). It's been months and I have not noticed any results.
  17. Sounds quite pessimistic... unless you genuinely love what you are going to be doing. This is sunk cost fallacy speaking, not what your heart is speaking. You lack clarity in your life, that's why you are struggling with this decision. What would you be doing with your life if you had $100 million? What would do if you knew you could not fail?
  18. @LSD-Rumi What medication were you given? @Leo Gura How do you find a doctor like that? Do you just search up “Functional holistic medicine GI Doctor in (insert your location)”?
  19. Wow that sounds really good. How long did it take for you to see results with the water kefir?
  20. What were the main foods you ate while on keto? What were your staples? How long did it take for you to see results with the water kefir?
  21. @Leo Gura The issue is I don’t know who I should go to. What are the tests I could take? So far I have done a SIBO breath test, Comprehensive Stool Analysis, OATs test, DUTCH hormone test. Now I am considering doing a heavy metal toxicity test and mold toxicity test. Other than that I don’t know what else to try.
  22. Do you have to stay on keto indefinitely for the symptoms to not be present? When did you start noticing that you didn’t have bloating anymore when you were on Keto? Do you have any probiotic recommendations? Any supplements? Or is the Water Kefir enough? Thanks. I’ve watched a lot of Frank’s videos last year then forgot about him. Have you tried Water Kefir?
  23. @Leo Gura I’ve done strict elimination diets multiple times. The bloating still doesn’t go away. Chicken still causes me bloating. I even went on a homemade bone broth fast (no FODMAPS) and I was still bloated. Medication like what? I don’t think I’ll ever touch SSRIs again after my experience with them.
  24. @Leo Gura I don’t even know what exact gut issues I have now. I’ve treated SIBO, I don’t know what else it could be. My bloating is even worse now than when I had SIBO. I’ve become even more anxious and have been having OCD symptoms which is causing immense suffering. Andrew Huberman released a podcast on OCD that I’m currently listening to, but other than that I don’t know what to try.
  25. @Leo Gura This question is unrelated to amalgam fillings, but what would happen if you do heavy metal chelation without fully resolving your gut issues?
