  1. @Leo Gura not a bad idea to link it in the high consciousness resources forum
  2. @Leo Gura Well true in most cases, but my last girlfriend we'd have deep philosophical convos and bonding in that way with a girl .. you can get a lot of meaning and joy out of that, but even then its not something that you do all the time, most of the time it really is just play
  3. @Leo Gura it seems you're pretty confident about the likelihood of a crash. Im honestly not that skilled in it. I hear people talking about a "crash" all the time. I guess that's a skill one needs to develop, which allows you to execute such a strategy. If you're able to accurately assess market crashes then it's a strategy worth looking into, which I will.
  4. @Leo Gura But see here's the problem, say I sell now, the market goes up from here, then there wont necessarily be a good time to re-enter, which you'd want to do because Im talking about its value in 10 years, and then when do you re-enter? It's very hard to time markets. If Im not skilled in timing markets, itd only make sense for a buy and hold long-term strategy. You're thinking of a buy and sell short-term strategy.
  5. @Leo Gura I got in Nvidia early, at a 3x right now, overall sure you can try to time the market and sell when its overheated, and sure there is definitely a lot of hype right now, but continuing to sell, buy, sell, buy, some of us just want to buy and hold long-term, and that's a solid strategy too right? Sure even if there's a 60% drop, if you believe in a company longterm, and see its long-term value, then it makes sense to just stop eyeing the fluctuations so much, focus on the value of the company, let it go and move on to other projects? For ex. Nvidia is leading the monopoly in computing and chips, and over time more and more products and services will be built on compute, making Nvidia a no-brainer buy.
  6. @kev014 Regarding the "bullying" part, I also feel that Owen is more on the side of just being direct, rather than trying to be nice, but there are moments where he is up in his face yelling at him saying things that was clearly hurting him. I mean throughout the whole thing this guy is on the verge of tears and Owen just says he's going to keep hammering him. Now sure that still might not be bullying to you, but Im not so sure to be honest. He was much happier as he came on the stage, but Owen just kept hammering his self-esteem and didn't stop. I was looking to join some toastmasters organizations and on every club page it says in clear writing that there's no pressure to speak, and you speak if you want to speak. Contrast that to Owen yelling in his face, not giving him a choice, saying things like "look you can't even smile" "you can barely talk". Again, I don't know for sure, but thats what Im even wondering about in this thread, is if that is even bullying or is that a way to make him stronger. Maybe the intention makes all the difference. Regarding the "pain with the old way of being", that's a good point. I have been considering experimenting with that. I do see a lot of value in that, atleast in the early aspects of personal development for my life. And you also make a good point about being internally validated. From that POV I can see tremendous value here. But I wonder if being harshly rejected like that is healthy for the self-esteem. Like if you take another perspective, would you surround yourself with toxic people who put you down even if you're internally validated? Im not so sure that's a great idea, because we do get affected by our environment. This idea of being internally validated, of course to a high degree that matters, but Im wondering if making a strategy out of constantly being rejected is healthy. Perhaps it is, that's what the idea of failure is. Maybe it makes you tougher. Maybe it puts a scar or 2, some pain, but at the tradeoff of being very secure with yourself, and internally validated, I think thats worth it. Overall, appreciate the input a lot. After what you said, Im more on the side of incorporating some of these aspects into my life. I can see tremendous value here. I also don't mean to get too hung up on the definition of bullying either. From a bigger picture perspective, something in me is telling me I need to challenge myself much more, associate much more pain, face much more and much harsher rejections, etc.
  7. Owen cook helped transform this kid, 20 years old, 4 years ago through what appears to be bullying? I'm still debating if this is bullying to be honest because on one hand, it seems pretty obvious that this is a pretty strong form of bullying and harassment even, but on the other hand it's like a form of military training for his ego dissolution to become a self-transformed person, more confident, less scared in the world by exposing himself to harsh rejection. Just look at this transformation. This is him before, about 4 years ago. You don't have to watch the whole thing, although I did. You can skip around to the parts where Owen is talking to him (somewhat bullying him) He said he was watching Owen's videos for 5 years and only ever socialized with 1 person. Almost no action, just a theory junky - In the first video. And this is him about 1 year ago (3 year transformation) I've even seen Owen in person treat his son with 30% of that same bullying that he did to this kid. I took my friend who isnt much into this form of personal development to see Owen and he didn't like Owen at all for how he treated his kid and how much he yells in general. But I also don't think he treated his kid right. Again you can skip around to the parts where he's making the people on stage do exercises. Now I've seen a lot of Owen videos, but this kid's story resonates with me a lot because I too have had a hard social journey, and still have so much to transform. I relate a lot to him. I also sense there's a powerful public speaker in me waiting to come out. I'm wondering, does this form of exposure therapy really work? I mean clearly it did on him, but I mean exposing yourself to very harsh circumstances, often very harsh rejection for serious transformation? Isn't that how the military is able to take weak men and make them into strong men? I've always taken the approach to kaizen, and mastery by george leonard as the path to personal growth, but I'm wondering if I could use some of what this kid got in his life, that is really challenging myself, facing harsher circumstances to make myself stronger, even very harsh rejection to grow myself socially as well? I mean in that first video he is literally getting bullied, having his self-esteem beaten down by Owen, how does that even help? And yet it did? So then is this a pretty solid path for personal development on top of the habits that you do? To challenge yourself each day to do something that really scares you, really challenging environments that scare the absolute crap out of you? Or can one coast by small iterations of exposure therapy. But how strong does that make you really if you don't truly dive into the absolute terror. This video literally has me questioning if I have been living too soft all my life, avoiding being rejected even though Ive socialized quite a bit, Id socialize in ways that are not polar, not truly myself so as not to be rejected so often or so harshly. But now Im questioning if people need to put themselves in much harsher environments more consistently to grow themselves truly.
  8. @Leo Gura Oh yeah good point, i do mostly look at business stuff so that explains that, as well as just scrolling youtube shorts which I think is biased based on what you view more, as well as youtube shorts being more gen Z I think. It's possible that Gen Z is moreso trump, but thats a wild guess. Well thats good to hear, often looking at social media comments I start to lose faith in humanity. I deleted Insta because Insta reels comment sections are overwhelmingly very negative and toxic. Atleast youtube theres a lot more positivity.
  9. @Leo Gura Wow I never even thought that as a possibility, but I mean still I do look into many of the profiles and they're legit people all supporting trump. Like if I recall my memory, only 1 comment was a lady not supporting trump, almost everything else is trump support. I have a feeling it's this shot to the ear that is making him some kind of hero in the public eye, and I think a previous event before that. It's just very off because the support is very emotional in nature too, much more than usual. Id understand maybe if 20% was fake bots, but literally when I say 99% is trump support I mean that (in the social media comments), and Ive been paying attention to this for a while now. At this point my hunch is that anyone who even shows support for biden will be the odd one out in the comments, getting attacked. Someone on Owen's comment section showed support for biden and he was called a fascist (the irony lol)
  10. Social media is wild right now, literally 99%+ of comments sections for the past few weeks have been MAGA trump supporters .. Biden for sure lost, What times are we living in that most of america wants a convicted felon to be our president.
  11. I've been noticing a theme with Leo's videos a lot, which is to first and foremost cultivate a deep passion and love for life. Today I have been doing a lot of reflection and journaling, and thinking about my past and future. There's a lot of problems in life, with family, harsh circumstances now and in the future, and I started to wonder when will I be happy? after 5 years of all day grindy work until I reach my goals? Then I looked back and I'm not sure how much psychological growth I've had, in the past 8 years of personal development work. I mean, I know I have had, but how much? These past 8 years I've grounded my life in the principle of taking action (although I've been very faulty here), strategy, etc. but I feel its worth living from a place of passion and love for life now, or else I will never truly experience the magic of life. But I wonder, is it worth pursuing this as a project? can you really deepen your love and connection to life? and how much? would turning "cultivating a deep love and passion for life" as a whole ass project, that I proactively work on daily, be worth investing in over the years and decades? Is there true value and true return on my investment? My concern is that I'll be in the same place I am 5 years from now, and my life won't change much. My strategic mind tells me there are more important things in life, that this won't get me to my goals, that I'll be the same person I am 5 years from now, that sure I will experience more loving and happy moments, but not have actual true internal growth? will this project lead to true internal growth? If not, what does lead to true internal growth and psychological growth? My hunch is that this can truly transform my life. Even just in this past hour, grounding myself more in this way of life is making me happier, more hopeful. I feel and can sense a greater shift in self-identity as well. I care a lot for living a good human life, to reach all my goals, etc. I care for spirituality, but not as much as a lot of you guys, and somewhat for Truth, but not so much. I understand that matters more, technically, but that doesn't resonate with me much at the moment. @Leo Gura I would be interested to hear your thoughts on this if you could share. Life right now feels very grindy, and like it'll take me 5 years to get out of the hardcore grind, and I want to use this precious time to really make the most of my time and see what is truly worth pursuing, and investing in. I don't want to waste time, but to invest it properly, and I'm looking for wise ways to invest time that feels worth it. Of course I will invest in health, social skills, etc. but I'm considering primarily investing in the project of cultivating a deep passion and love for life. I really do mean I want to make a whole project out of this, to find ways to deepen that love, to try and experiment with new techniques and experiences, to change my self-identity as part of this project, etc.
  12. Even now I look at my book shelf, of diverse books, and see all these books that can get me from point A to Point B, but that point B is like - once you get there, are you even that happier? that much more connected to life? and change as a person? So how worth it is it that I even spend 5 years actualizing principles from that specific book. Why not just go straight to cultivating that passion and love for life now, in all that I do? But also, where does that even get me? Like okay, I do that, but then what? Apologize for asking these odd questions, but I do feel it matters to me
  13. @Leo Gura How is this man not in prison? charged on all accounts, still gets to run for president? supreme court immunity ruling, involvement with a criminal organization, i mean all in front of the public eye and every part of america is just letting this happen? It doesnt make sense .. US law is actually pretty good compared to the whole world, we actually abide by it, its well respected, america has great infastructure, so how does a solid system allow one man to get away with so much like this though ... Im starting to think that we hold the position of "president" as dictatorial to some degree, before trump was ever elected, Im not sure, im just trying to get an understanding of all this, but thats the only explanation I have. "If you're the president we'll let pretty much everything slide" - America ?
  14. @Leo Gura I dont know why i got the impression that you're always in your apartment lol but glad you're doing such things
  15. @Leo Gura So at the end of the day, not really much different from everyone else, except lower conscious than the average lower conscious people in society. Even then trump and the heritage foundation, not bad people, but just deeply lost in selfishness and fantasy
  16. @Leo Gura Oh wow so its not that the heritage foundation influences the trump administration, its more like that they are deeply intertwined. I didnt realize these people from the heritage foundation are pulled directly into government. So then isn't the heritage foundation just a part of the trump administration then technically or informally? Also this is interesting to me because I have this christian family Ive been friends with since childhood. Great family. Caring, etc. But some months ago he called me saying how trump needs to be president, all these new genders are messing up the country, etc. etc. .. I know theyre not bad people, I just think theyre just not seeing things clearly, like muddy glasses biased by their religion. What Im having trouble with seeing right now is, are christians bad people or just very biased? Maybe its this whole project 2025 thats got me a bit angry recently, but tbh I think most christians are good, and some are extremists that turn it into a cult and stomp on your rights. Is christianity a cult or is it mostly a normal belief system that some turn into a cult? It is crazy though how much christianity is intertwined with our culture. Like I love christmas lol but only past few years am I realizing how connected it is to religion maybe.
  17. @Emerald From what I read, that's what I understand as well. I also found out later through research how all these people are connected to Trump. But as you say, they fund the campaigns, Im still not sure exactly how much influence it has on Trump. But if they fund the campaigns, Im sure its a good amount of influence. Appreciate the info
  18. I was in philli today doing game from jersey, and I came across this block that reads: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution 15 December 1791 I took a picture because I found it so ironic how far we are from the wisdom and intelligence that went into the first amendment that built this country, and how it could get far worse with trump. The irony.
  19. https://www.reddit.com/r/Defeat_Project_2025/comments/1ddich3/here_is_a_bullet_point_breakdown_of_project_2025/ This pdf provides a bullet point overview of each chapter in the 900 page pdf Also wtf is it really saying it will eliminate the dept of homeland security and replace it? @Leo Gura Im still not getting how this is connected to trump though? it seems the "heritage organization" wrote this, not the trump admin?
  20. @Leo Gura I think im getting some higher level understanding: Deregulation -> increased corruption allowing banks and corporations to do what they want to do at others expense -> chaos -> uncertainty in a bad way? also authoritarian state -> selfish agenda -> hurting the lives of many
  21. @Leo Gura also if you could expand on some of these claims: "finally market collapse along the lines of 2008", "erosion of the entire government at all levels, chaos" .. what kind of chaos are we talking on a more us citizen life, or systems of america? and market collapse is a pretty bold claim, why would that happen?
  22. @Leo Gura I noticed a lot of smart, wise good people are trump supporters because they are ignorant of politics, and see some business advantages from Trump and turn a blind eye to all other bad stuff about trump.
  23. @Leo Gura Gotchya, I guess I just didn't want to feel that genetics is 100% of your success. Hearing that genetics is a very huge factor feels threatening, like I lack control. But I think I understand. It's just very important, but its not everything.
  24. @Leo Gura Isn't that undermining all the ways to improve your health, energy and productivity? a strong purpose, hard circumstances that drive you, your social environment, your diet, yoga, smoothies, getting your emotional state right, i mean all these are important factors right? could you possibly be overstating the importance of genetics? partly the reason why I bring all this up is because I'm about to throw myself in an environment where I have 5 to 6 hours of a job (remote, full-time) daily, 2 hours of business, on top of all my other 10+ daily personal development habits. I currently don't have that level of discipline, but every week I'm becoming more and more productive and disciplined and reaching heights that I didn't think I could. Do you think it's possible for me to maintain such a schedule while staying happy, and joyful relatively? Even owen and you have done incredible things productivity wise (I recall you said you worked 70 hour work weeks, and did 900 approaches a month once.) I do think genetics matters, but idk maybe 25% or something?
  25. @Leo Gura Lol I pretty much consume everything from you and not once do I recall you hinting at the actual action steps to do this 5x multiplier .. I guess that's what this course is. That's so mindblowing, yet hard to even believe that's possible or a thing, yet I still believe it sort of. One thing I can say for sure: I have consumed a godly amount of theory over the past 10 years, from everywhere, and less than .001% got actualized probably.
