after thinking about it a second, maybe in the early 1900s both the job as a mailman and a preacher carries the same amount of importance... (for the society at that time) That's why the post does not make sense to us... privacy and public spaces has always changed and subject to conformity. how much man's and woman's body part should be shown? who should be the judge? which location? we are uploading our private lives to social media, even when we are not , others will. how do you even control it?

But the mailman was so bias, and think of him so highly (that he the mailman knows what God wants to do, not the preacher) that he even preached to the preacher. sorry, I don't catch what you're trying to say. what i'm trying to say is... all the age-related convention and pressure that we are subjected to... you 1, you should be walking by now. you're 20, you should be in university by now. what age should we should marry? (you're 24, you should be married by now) age of death... he's so young, he shouldn't have died... (reality dictates our age of death, not culture) what age should be stop exercising? (dude, you 26, you too old to be doing this sport or that exercise, I've heard people say) what age should you be wealthy? ( dude, you're 30, you should have this amount of money, this house, this car) you're 70, you should be a grandparent by now, you should stop working. you're 110, why are you not dead?.... I do think age plays a great factor in not only our personal decision making, but government decision making, regarding medicines to give, if someone's 90, should we proceed with this expensive medical procedure?

Age-related stuff ... you're 10, you must be... you're 20, you must be... you're 50, you must be... you're 70, you must be...

totally agree, i do think it has an enormous impact on our psyche because we are seeing it everyday. ------ communal superstitions ( not talking about superstition present in religion ) black cats, unlucky number 13, Chinese numerology representing fortune 8888, 88, 44 representing death. Even though you don't believe in any this, you must take this into consideration if you are living in a community that believes in this stuff

Anybody want to talk about this movie? I was expecting to watch an epic like troy. Just "mentions" of gods or deities Then the cyclops appear. I love it. Before this, I remember the cyclops as just being cartoonish. I means just look at this. \ But Christopher Nolan's version is a semi "cosmic horror' cyclops. It didn't talk to and give a damn about humans, it just eats them. it looks so real and unnerving .

Oppenheimer had Cillian Murphy, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr. , all the A-listers, I thought that movie was dogshit. I guess having Greek Mythology as the foundation of your story makes any shortcomings the movie might have more palatable for me.

Am I right to think that Athena took the form of a beheaded Priestress to force Odysseus to contemplate on what he has done? LOL!!! I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder? In hindsight, you're right! I don't the whole narrative why the cyclops was the way it is. I just remembered his demeanor in the cave was disturbing.

Oppenheimer is bloody boring from beginning to end. It was torture for me to watch the movie. It was one talking scene after another. the Odyssey has boring talking scenes but it just fits well with the overall narrative. I feel immersed, the storytelling was just amazing. I thought it was going to be like Troy, but after the cave scene, I was hooked from start to finish.

Oppenheimer was like watching dust dry. I was expecting the Odyssey to be like Troy, then boom, sheep😉, cinema ecstacy🤯.

Ummm... judging from what I saw yesterday, No! they are not going anywhere near the finals! It was frustrating to watch. They are great defensively, but they can't counter attack properly and they lose possession easily. The match between Egypt and Iran would be very interesting though
