Don't you realize that "appearance" means something in opposition to another idea that is "real"? This mental structure closes, and ultimately means nothing, all the ideas happens in the reality, and the idea "appearance" is just another idea -

And? Suffering exist and I prefer to find the way to dissolve it. I don't care if I exist or not, that different is just a difference that the mind does, but the suffering is real since it is. For example, if a piece of iron is stuck in your leg, what would you do, say that the leg and the iron are illusory and let it stay in your leg until it's rotten or removing the iron and heal the wound? Whether they are illusory or not is a differentiation, any differentiation is conceptual, you can forget it and live. -

The first step in spirituality is the absolute void and the absolute nihilism. Means that all the things that you are used to know means nothing. Horror! But behind the absolute void is the absolute fullness. You know everything: you are, and you know what you are, you know it opening your heart not with your mind. -

Then in one side there si that perfect thing, the reality, and in another side something unperfected, the human being, who is stupid and arrogant Perfection is something very simple, just absence of bias. Perfection means nothing, is a subjective idea. Obviously everything is perfect because it is, then what means perfection? Nothing -

reflecting on the cheap lobotomizing self-help that proposes that suffering is caused by thought, don't think, there is no suffering: tadah! buy my book! give me money! let's see...what happens if you choose your partner with whom you share your life based unconsciously on the social status that person provides you, or out of fear and insecurity of a person with low self-esteem that deep down you despise? tadah! don't you think about it, that's it! give me fentanyl! tadah! No, the only way is the real understanding of the human structure, and anything else are bullshit, junk food -

5meo makes you understand things like contemplation? For me 5meo is just dissolving the barriers, being without limit, but never understanding anything, it's like freedom and sometimes alive depth, the absolute light, another times absolute darkness, absolute void. Long time without doing 5meo, now I'm scared of it again , it's violent for the mind -
I think it's all about fear. It's fear that keeps the mind closed, limited. There are various levels of fear, and the basic levels are primordial fear, the need for control necessary to keep you alive. The density of this fear varies greatly from one person to another. Maybe it's something to do with karma and that of past lives, or just different configurations, Who knows
-
I meant that for some it's more easy that for others, depending of your barriers and how capable are you of face them, to look at them directly
-
Why not? True openness happens when it's your moment, depending of the person

Yes, but is it a belief to think that I'm going to die? That tomorrow they can tell me that I have brain cancer and I'm going to lose all my faculties, go crazy and die in extreme pain? It's reality, life is absolutely uncertain, certainty is an illusion. The abyss of death opens before us, right now, and we know absolutely nothing, all we think we know are illusions to provide stability. The fear of death is primordial, it's genetically encoded, its not beliefs, there are deep mechanisms that form this experience. All the others fears, that maybe are activated by beliefs, are variations of the primordial fear, the death. Religion is just a mental strategy to handle that fear. Enlightenment is the only way to really overcome it -

That's life. They were fooled, now they have a destroyed country and hundreds of thousands of young people dead and maimed, but the US revived its economy and managed to weigh down Germany. The problem is that now Russia and China are close, and perhaps their alliance is not as fickle as the alliances with the US. -

Sure, and if you are schizophrenic even worse. I speak of a stable superficial state but of deep energetic structures of fear and distortion. Real penetration is required, not mental. Deep meditation, psychedelics for me have been very useful. I am not talking about understanding with the logical mind, I am talking about direct vision. This process leads little by little to lower levels of suffering and eventually to moments of complete enlightenment, which is momentary. I suppose there are people who are in a permanent state of enlightenment, although it seems strange to me to operate in that way. Enlightenment happens in total absence of fear, fear is the door. Fear takes many different forms. -

@Ishanga I'm talking about primal fear to death and rejection. Most of people are totally unconscious of the depth of their fear, there are very sophisticated mental processes to avoid facing it. The only real way is enlightenment, go through the human experience, expand the mind and realizing that there is not death. The other way is religion, that is better than absolute terror, but it's still fear and suffering in some extent It's unconscious, believe me. The field of conciousness is not the reality, there is unconscious reality I my opinion it's irrelevant. You could be a surgeon that cure cancer who save lifes every day and have unconscious terror. People live with that , it's normal, the mind is smart and bury it. The only exit is enlightenment, and almost nobody in the entire world is enlightened -

There is not unconscious fear to death and rejection? Are you sure? -

People in old times suffer much less than today, less depression and neurosis, the people in the tribes without contact with civilization use to be happy, even they have a hard live and death is everywhere, they are close the life, but we are isolated in a bubble and this produce neurosis. It's very difficult getting out of there, and people around are very unconscious, then you get in a maze very difficult to understand full of disharnonic vibration. Penetration is needed to get out of that maze, but there is no choice, our circumstance is what is, with advantages and disadvantages -

Don't you understand the depth of fear? We have been raised in absolute terror, reality is impermanent, and we have been raised for permanence. In addition, we have genetics that make us tribal beings, and the inconsistency of the group today has created layers and layers of fear of rejection. Looking all this in the face is not easy, they are real energy barriers, much deeper than they seem. -
Breakingthewall replied to kieranperez's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
For me they are more than beliefs, they are real energy patterns formed layer upon layer by fear that manifest as a constant flow of what we call suffering that takes the form of negative thoughts. Thought is the consequence, not the cause. You cannot focus on the consequence without understanding and looking directly at the cause. Facing your primal fear is not a trivial thing, saying that people are stupid for thinking negative is having a very superficial understanding. -
Could be quite dangerous so much time on psychedelic. But in other hand, maybe leads you to a higher dimension of openess, anyway it's an interesting experiment

There are many who gets out a lot and are totally focused in the external, then it's good that some are more reflexive and focused in the internal. The question with Leo , and with anyone who is a philosopher or a mystic and spread his ideas is: is he right or wrong? Where is he right and where wrong? It's an extremely interesting mental game, for me it's fascinating to try to understand how works a complex and active mind
