  1. @tuckerwphotography Haven't seen this specific documentary, but based on the others definitely stage yellow: great systemic analysis, and cross-ideological appeal. Thanks for rec. @outlandish haven't heard of this anywhere else!
  2. I'm inclined to start another thread about the leftist criticisms of Obama's actions and how it depoliticized people. What do you all think? I'll start with this if anyone is interested: https://apnews.com/article/5dfbc1aa17701ae219239caad0bfefb2 I want to clarify that I'm not trying to target Obama specifically, and I have worst things to say about any Republican president, but it's important to be able to have systemic and results oriented criticism on a president that has been mystified as an example of our highest expectations for a politician (and not specifically from Leo, but as a mainstream opinion). I'm not trying to claim some kind of moral high ground, but politics should be about being able to effect systemic, long lasting results partly by analyzing the failures of this attempts.
  3. Would you agree that Obama is therefore also a bad guy? And I get that from there your argument would be that he's the best bad guy at the time and I would agree. I'm just curious about your perception, and many around here, that he's yellow. How did we get Trump as his successor then? Did his 5D chess plays backfired? And as a last argument in my effort to see him more critically, as a previous strong Obama supporter. What's up with his actions in opposition to his rhetoric? Please be aware of what he DOES and not only what he SAYS. The president of Hope and Change went on to be a Netflix film producer and used his influence to help nominate Biden in the primary.
  4. You didn't seem to extend that level of nuance and detail into the Stalin thread previously, where everything applies exactly the same. Justifying the destruction of the most vulnerable and needy in favor of the strongest and most privileged in the world right now is already culturally accepted and normalized, might be justified by consciousness, as anything, but doesn't seem too productive imo.
  5. This is the important question. Every news outlet is propaganda in the sense that it has bias in some way, as @PurpleTree elaborated a bit on, the choice of what you decide to report on or not has implications. I still believe that the list from @Thewritersunion is useful because those outlets are known to just lie and spread misinformation.
  6. I think SD implies that if your center of gravity is at a certain stage your ego development should be fairly equivalent. Maybe the distinction lies on bad characterization of certain values/content from SD and interpreting it wrong. ED certainly helps make more accurate assessments of SD.
  7. @Rilles @Rilles Lol even linguistically we are being indoctrinated by the Right
  8. Also media in general is highly influenced by the profit incentive. Authors are constantly pressured to stay relevant/funded to keep their jobs.
  9. @RedLine What are you defining libertarian as in the first post? Green or orange? What of the multiple definitions of libertarian you refer to? Can you also mention what authors have devolved, and what country are you from? You might be confusing a blue stage version of egalitarian dogma to green. Hard to tell without specifics.
  10. Super interesting thread I found on twitter, check it out https://twitter.com/RodericDay/status/1287411708374454273?s=19
