  1. Do you want to know if that's what Buddhists believe, or if it's true? Because it's not true. Beauty is a quality of perception, the subject perceiving qualities in the object. Perhaps the point is that appearances can be deceptive and you have to go deeper, realer, truer.
  2. You may have learnt something about yourself that is hard for you to accept. Be open to learning how you are. Remember you need to recognise a flaw before you can fix it. On the other hand, I've heard that Jung was a bad person with demonic involvement, so you may be absorbing his negativity. If you keep having bad emotions when reading his work, it may be best to put it down. Jung made great advances in our understanding of alchemy, personality, self actualisation, and so on, but much of this is better not taken too seriously. You may find yourself adrift a sea of confusion, thinking you have problems you don't have. That being said, I have read plenty of Jung's work, and I did feel that it helped me in understanding things, such as my status as a shaman. So yeah... Be willing to look at yourself clearly and honestly. And sometimes when you think there is a problem with you, it is actually someone else projecting negativity into you.
  3. It's Christian in the sense of being based around the people and events of the new testament (many of the letters are transmissions from Jesus), but it is not biblical. The letters could contain anything, whatever the spirit wants to transmit through the medium. There's no reason to say they are rejecting reincarnation out of dogma, because they reject the idea that Jesus is God, or that the bible is infallible, or the vicarious atonement. Trust that the letters are actual transmissions from spirits in the spirit world. That doesnt mean its always right. The knowledge of the spirit talking, and the ability of the medium to receive the messages are limiting factors. As for your example, i don't know how to explain that WITH reincarnation (it's the soul that reincarnates, not the body, so why would there be a birthmark anyway? There is more to the picture.), so it is irrelevant at this point.
  4. Those connections don't seem that strong to me. For example, tentative speech, and complex/metaphorical speech are not that similar. There's going to be overlap in how dichotomies are described because we have limited language. Overall, there shouldn't be much similarity, so treat the dichotomies as completely separate, with maybe some interesting connections.
  5. This is pretty much it, except that there is a correlation between being open to experience (in big 5) and focusing on the big picture, and somewhat with being spontaneous. (Big picture/intuiton/idea focus and spotaneity/perceiving/adaptiveness are not correlated, or not very significantly correlated at least)
  6. There is a metadichotomy of yin yang that applies to the other dichotomies. Intuition is yin and sensing is yang, perceiving is yin and judging is yang. When compared with each other, these two dichotomies have little in common besides openness, and they're open in different ways. J is goal focused, P adjusts to surroundings, thus taking in new information. S is focused on the concrete, N is focused on the abstract, conceptual, speculative, and has a preference for novelty and new approaches. So they are both open in the sense of preferring new information, but in Se, the new information is what's around you and what is concrete. Si and Ni are apperceptive, meaning they see the world through a subjective lens. Si has a preference for the known, Ni for the unknown. SPs will be drawn to physical experiences, NJs will conceive of new ways to see things. Both have a bit of the other. Hopefully that clears things up. Edit: also, SJs seek to improve the certainty of information and adherence to previous standards, thus running contrary to openness. NPs are drawn to new ideas and are the most open. Again, each has a bit of the other.
  7. George, your dad is right. You're being an idiot. You are telling us that your dad is below you in consciousness, when in reality he is likely much wiser than you. Think you're a fast developer? Ok, well he has many years on you with which to develop. I'm not saying that being older automatically makes someone higher in consciousness than someone else, but consciousness develops as you get older so clearly they are correlated. Anyway, your post makes it sound like you are in the wrong, so that is why i am saying that.
  8. There are some articles on truthforallpeople.com that say that reincarnation isn't real. These articles are the channelled messages of spirits, through a medium.
  9. Manifesting physical objects is very difficult. However if you see through the illusion, you can accomplish much through faith.
  10. Since a couple people mentioned it... you don't need to leave the house in order to develop. Change takes place internally.
  11. Some thoughts arise separately to us, some we think intentionally. We of course do have free will. You can feel that you are free. Misuse of logic shouldn't convince you otherwise.
  12. In terms of spiral dynamics, different people will plateau at different ages, but 25 to 30 is a common age range that the plateau happens.
  13. Consciousness is a subtle thing. You might have raised your consciousness more than you think. Rather than comparing, try and identify markers of consciousness in terms of a system, such as spiral dynamics.
  14. I don't know what it would mean exactly to be authentic, but at a given point in time i can be more or less inhibited.
  15. There really are people who can do complex calculations without doing it analytically, so i don't find the claim too suspicious. OP, its probably a form of synaesthesia. There are many forms. I sometimes see video clips in my minds eye when i listen to music, but not like the same colours for the same videos, so thats more imagination. When i hear peoples voice, i can link that to cognitive functions, so thats a sensory to conceptual synaesthesia.
  16. Yeah the cringe is normal. I find its the same but lesser with forum posts, and it also depends on your mood. Sometimes I'm in the right mindset and i dont cringe.
  17. Plenty of people overcome mental illness. You don't actually believe the mental health system do you?
  18. Have you thought of what you need to break free from?
  19. To an extent you are going to meet a person at their own stage. If you talk to blue, you will become more blue temporarily. However you still keep your elevated status. (I am referring to higher states of consciousness, not rank) Surely you notice that people sometimes make you angry, but you keep perspective. The anger can be strong but generally manageable without losing soul composure.
  20. I think I'll stop coming to the forum soon. Too much of what I post is remnants of my pride, and that I need to leave behind.
  21. I thought I would make a journal on the site. The purpose of this journal is primary to document my transition into a new phase of life. For the past 8 years I have been studying personality types (independently) and mathematics (at university) (and spirituality, which is more important, but I will get to that later). Now I am wrapping up my personality types studies, I've got my bachelor of mathematics, and I'm starting a masters degree in social science. That's what I need to transition into. This degree should be the basis for the next couple decades of my life. I want to go into policy, then maybe (environmental) campaigning. It looks like a clear pathway through. It means getting actually interested in the material though. I chose this degree because it seems to be the best option. I don't hugely like what I'm going to be studying, but I dislike it less than every other degree I saw, that I can think of. So the main thing I need to focus on right now is getting interested in politics. Spiral Dynamics is providing a nice platform for me to think of society. I could maybe do some more study in aeonics, but SD is suitable for now. So this blog will also consist of my process of making sense of Spiral Dynamics. I will post about other typologies, both vertical (developmental) and horizontal (personality types). Feel free to post any thoughts that you have about anything I say. I might write some poems too, or post general philosophical ideas, and there will certainly be a lot of spirituality to come. I will be focusing on the divine love, which can be learnt about on truthforallpeople.com. That'll do for the intro. Here we go!
  22. This might not sound like useful feedback, but I read mobile phone application and stopped reading. It's certainly not what I would be doing with my time. Hopefully someone else gives good feedback on the idea itself.
  23. Uh it means you have choice in what you do. Youre not just running like clockwork, but actually decide what to bring to each moment.
  24. Turquoise: the truth is out there. Coral: you are now entering... the twilight zone.
