  1. Emotions are quite literally amongst the most counter-intuitive things in life. I've recently had a major increase in compassion levels after embracing and owning my hateful side. It's just crazy how the shadow works. But it's one thing to express emotions, and it's another thing entirely to own them. Expressing for the purpose of venting out turns out to keep the shadow intact, it just gives you a sedative effect. The actual healing occurs when you allow yourself to fully embody your emotions without fears or resistance, and without concerns about the consequences.
  2. Religion is not a something that exists out there in the world. Rather, it's a state of mind projected out onto the world. Most people are stuck at the Conformist/Blue stage of cognitive development cuz that's where they're actually at. They can't help being dogmatic, authoritative, and conformist. That includes religious people, science freaks, and amateur philosophers who think they're academics. Meta thinking and truth seeking are the most irrelevant things to these people, so it shouldn't be a surprise that they all fall in the same category. In fact, it's absolutely safe to say that modern science is a form of religion in the way that it's being practiced, since it was really born out of religion in the first place.
  3. She's after control, of course. And it's not settled because of the fear of losing control that accompanied change in prior experiences. That's all there is to ego. Sometimes, recognizing that helps. Sometimes, it doesn't. Either way, going through the fear regardless of all concerns is the ultimate solution.
  4. Really good question, imo. Just right off the top of my head: Paralysis by analysis. Map and territory confusion. Disconnection from reality, aka delusional thinking. Disconnection from others, aka loneliness. Higher chances for escapism and bypassing work. Time consuming. Harder to implement. Perfectionism pitfalls. Increased likelihood of procrastination. Can make you highly stressed. Can cause you doubt and second-guessing. Poor prioritization leads to poor results, regardless of how systematic you are. Now, most of that is on the personal level. But when it comes to corporates and stuff like that where data is involved, the limits will be far less and the benefits far greater. So being systematic about using systems thinking is probably the smart way to go about it.
  5. OCD is a wild thing, isn't it? I would just acknowledge the obsessive thoughts as obsessive thoughts, that'd make me a little bit more detached. Otherwise, if she doesn't agree with you, try agreeing with her. I mean flow with her, but don't take her pov seriously. Just allow her to express herself, while you being a good listener.
  6. That's not my experience. Besides:
  7. @EddieEddie1995 You got it, bro! You have the inspiration, keep it blazing! ? @Raphael That's about it, I guess. I personally will continue with the paper, cuz there's some juicy insights there.
  8. Hello all! I've just finished watching Leo's series for the first time. I find the model insanely accurate. And it seems to provide a lot of potential for us as highly developed/wise people. But now, I'm wondering, why is it not discussed or even talked about at all here? Right near the end of the series: Leo said that he will start referring to it more with time than to Spiral Dynamics, because the latter is more focused on the collective, contrary to the former. The video has been out since September, 13th. So it's been almost half a year since. Personally, I have watched the series once, and read part of the original paper. I don't think I have enough understanding of the model yet, as in I still can't explain it to another person perfectly, but I can work with what I currently have, given that I have a good understanding of Spiral Dynamics. What are your excuses for not updating your framework into including this model? And, @Leo Gura Why do you seem to still prefer SD?
  9. Haha! But Leo, my feminist ego can't handle that. No, we're all devils is the point.
  10. Yeah, that's called ego. Watch this series for more understanding:
  11. I'm 24 years old, and I have changed radically quite a few times during the past 10 years. When I was 14, I used to memorize geometry because I didn't understand it at all. Seriously, I used to cram for the exams without understanding shit. Now I can't memorize as much, but I can understand what very few humans can. So that's a radical shift between intellect and intuition. As well, I was Muslim, and now I'm, well, ehm, kinda enlightened. During the past few months alone, I was able to shift my relationship with love from attached to detached. I got rid of my neediness. Within the past 5 years, I have moved up from Blue straight to Green, and almost Yellow, with some Orange shadow that I'm still working on. My MBTI was never the same with each test I did. So, I finally got the insight that I am much bigger than a model or a concept to define me. The only, or perhaps the most static thing that I've found is sexuality. I'm straight, and that didn't change even a little bit, even though I was slightly homophobic, it turns out that it's just a shadow aspect of my psyche that needed integration through shadow work. Now I'm neutral about homosexual people, and that didn't take anything of my masculinity. These are just a few examples right off the top of my head. Osho said in this article I was reading today: https://www.osho.com/osho-online-library/osho-talks/individuality-relationships-unique-0b64c704-387?p=719804976554a4661633dd07e631edd1 (which was posted by another member on the politics section) that awake people are not like asleep people because they cannot be defined because they are unlimited, and I agree with him, as I am somewhat awake.
  12. @Vision Thanks! @EddieEddie1995 Well, then, best of luck!
  13. @meow_meow It seems to me that you are on the verge of something extraordinary. I would just make sure that I am not doing the practice mechanically. Now, if that is established, then probably the best route of action would be to surrender in meditation and allow awareness of the present moment to increase, and parallel to that, insights to arise. Epiphany, then, will spontaneously emerge from that foundation of presence, instead of the intellect that may be clouding the current experience.
  14. @Vision Damn! It's the first time I hear of AQAL, and it seems complex. Could you suggest something to help me get started on it?
  15. Good. Now let go of these excuses and get to work @EddieEddie1995 Hey, yo! Where's the link to your channel? @Carl-Richard Noted. Won't expect much lol.
  16. @Rilles It seems worth it. I've noticed different angles for understanding in the original paper. @Happy Lizard Nicely put ??
  17. This is infinity. Infinity cannot get more infinite, because otherwise it wouldn't be infinity. What you're thinking of as infinity is in fact just a finite concept that doesn't actually exist. But I get what you mean, you want more equality, and that seems reasonable and possible, although not easy. But still, with more evolution, reality can have different orders. Evolution decreases the impossible by increasing what's possible. Infinite intelligence.
  18. It is, to the extent of creating problems out of thin air.
  19. @Hulia Let me guess; you'd wish for another Trump ?
  20. @Someone here Still searching, huh?
  21. Oh, yes, there are. Reality is not logical, it's a-logical. And so are humans. Logic = limitation, but human imagination is unlimited. You want to limit the unlimited and confine the human experience into a certain easily expected way, which is impossible. Imposing limitations onto the human experience will result in lack of creativity, which will result in death eventually. But reality is smarter than that, hence why it's a-logical. Being boundless is not a bug, it's a feature.
