  1. i have OCD and i use erp to conquer the fear. basically escalating the fear and sitting with it and eventually noticing there was nothing to be afraid of from the first place. the tricky thing with this though was that i noticed that the fear would just hatch onto a different topic. what would be a more permanent solution to this? i think it has to do with my overall happiness levels and food intake
  2. Self - CBT is one solution. Or you can find a nice therapist. The work from byron katie can also help
  3. Is it just nothing? Or also can it be confidence?
  4. @Hardkill there are some famous studies that show that more money has diminishing returns for happiness Also it depends on the person and their psyche. It's more individual based and how they interpret their income You could be happy and fulfilled with lots of money and also depressed with lots of money But having no money is probably very painful and stressful
  5. maybe on average. i have several friends who are in the top 1% of income. trust me, they are not happy one has a failing relationship, is overworked and is depressed because he is overweight. but he makes $250k a year at a comp sci job
  6. ''if you want to transcend something you must understand it and if you want to understand you must go meta.'' - Leo Gura An example from playing a video game. I wanted to beat people in my skill level. and the way I did it was 1. The Act: Died in game Going Meta: Looking at what contributed to my death in the game I died and going meta helped me see the reason of my death I had a mindset that was to engage their team by myself. However, the result of that caused me to die. They all focused me and killed me at once. I saw that my mindset was shooting myself in the foot. Instead of engaging the team like that it is better to Transcend: From going meta and observing the situation from a birds-eye view, this gave me the needed information to understand what was happening. From here I was able to transcend and develop a new solution. To go even more meta I suspect I need to: see how my mindset is contributing it. and what mindsets are needed to be high level what type of gameplay is required what kind of communication with the team is required
  7. Yeah they say journalling after a session is a great way to improve on a skill . My guess it might promote conscious growth When you're going meta, what are you doing exactly?
  8. for me exposure therapy worked. problem was that i stopped practicing it and it morphed into different forms of OCD. takes effort but manageable ime. you may need a holistic solution because for me, my ocd is weaker when i am happy. so doing things that reduce stress and make you happy can be part of your solution. so like good sleep, relationships, meaning/purpose, meaningful goals, living by your values etc. also mindfulness was helpful too. like allowing the fear when the fear comes and just let it rock without any reaction to it. this is helpful for me as well (eckhart tolle stuff) btw when i first started learning about it, mark freeman's course called brain school helped me a lot. it taught me some useful principles on how to deal with OCD
  9. hey man, i can understand what youre going through. i have also been in many lows in my life so i can empathize to an extent where you are i dont have any advice but check out the last 12 minutes of this video (from 2:28:56): it may or may not help, but it popped in my mind so maybe it could aid you. hearts out to you bro

  13. "Yes, it will cause problems for humans, and then humans will be forced to adapt and solve those problems. Which is how it's always been for humans. We cause and the solve most of our own problems." - leo G We cause and the solve most of our own problems We cause our own problem our own problem our ==== Goals right now... Income Masters in OW 3 Good friends Healing A career that I can really get behind
  14. because things seem to be interconnected, sometimes the solution isnt solving the thing itself, but something that's next to it so you are playing bad at video games might prompt you to think to get coaching but really you just need some coffee and a nice diet that will help you play energized and much better
  15. Why is rsd hyped so much? I feel there are better channels?

  20. @Insightful27 I know, it's amazing. I'm currently doing research in this field and this one was really great @Hello from Russia hey do you happen to have any recommendations for hyperlearning techniques?
  21. I honestly think having connections in the job field is the best thing. if you have a connection it dumb easy. like a referral like a decent/good CV + a good connection is so powerful. its how i got my job and how my friends got good jobs. cuts the process imo i thought about just paying someone in the company for a referral another thing is opportunity spotting, like if there's specific opportunity in the field that you find, it's dope to take advantage of that and do it. i've found that these opportunities can cause anxiety and doubt about the field because the field has not been properly tread, but you have massive first mover advantage also this: Also some more things to note: Getting really fucking clear about what the employer is looking for is important. It's easy to sell yourself when you have a project that depicts the exact need of the employer I know that psychologically for many people, the process of finding a job can be difficult. But having confidence, trust in yourself, and in the process is key just my 2c feel free to disagree or spot errors in my thinking
  22. id invest most of it myself and put some into a business
