  1. Slowing down is definitely helpful in being mindful, but ironically when you keep doing that, you actually become faster in terms of productivity.
  2. There will come one day when forums and social media addiction leads to big boost in de-addiction therapies and becomes a big competitor or even dethrone alcohol, drug or tobacco addictions.
  3. I think there are a few, but there are no mainstream or aaa games that I have heard of. There are many interesting, funny and philosophical stories in Indian mythology. If they create a good fight between Shiva and Vishnu within the game, it would sell millions of copies in India.
  4. This sounds interesting, and I am not able to find much information related to this. It might be based on the same mechanism as the one where we use cues or triggers to remember stuff, but only that here the cue is subconsciously created. Since you said that you get the same picture whenever you think of something similar, this might well be the case. But the interesting question is, on what basis the subconscious mind creates the connections. It is definitely a very complex connection, since you are not consciously able to figure it out.
  5. What is LOC, btw? Line of control?
  6. Here's an article on the causes of obesity that may help you to expand your views. A simple Google search is enough to know about it. https://www.nichd.nih.gov/health/topics/obesity/conditioninfo/cause
  7. I would love Hindu mythology to be depicted in games though. It's so vast and colourful.
  8. What's the reason for this uncontrollable laughter?
  9. Don't forget to turn on the subtitles!
  10. Then you only have the second choice: Do it on your own trying to have less bias than those studies. If you can't, it's better to rely on the average of multiple studies or be free of any bias at all.
  11. Sounds logical. It's important to question why laziness exists if we wish to overcome laziness. Science also suggests that being sedentary is an evolutionary trait as the body consumes energy slowly when we have less food and other resources.
  12. IQ has zero to very less relations when it comes to happiness, peace, and even success. Only work related success and certain fields which requires high intelligence can give high IQ people an advantage,( and not a guarantee) and people close to Spirituality knows that these things have little significance in actual success. Only when you have very low IQ ( you won't even be able to type here with those levels), there are relations between iq and happiness and even those group of people are mostly sad because they compare with others who have higher intelligence. Comparison is the one which causes sadness, not the level of intelligence. Look at a bird chirping happily, what do you think it's IQ is? Identifying your other strengths and interests, as others stated can help you develop self esteem. You don't even need to do that, as having 5 senses is all it is needed to experience life fully. In fact, the intelligent people are all working hard for you, helping you to have new experiences.
  13. Here's one that gives an alternative view: https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/business/story/2019-12-16/the-bias-against-beautiful-women-at-work
  14. You can be self defensive, there is no wrong in that, but make sure you go through research or studies to confirm your biases and to know how much percentage of pretty woman have the characteristics you describe. If you can't find any, study on your own. Interact with atleast hundred pretty woman from different backgrounds for a year in your free time or everyday life and try to compare them with other women with as little bias as possible, and then make your judgement.A year of study can save years of hatred.
  15. Appearances are mostly deceptive, if not always. The outer may be a reflection of the inner, but everyone must ask themselves: am I wise enough to spot the biases of my own before making judgements based on the appearances? For example, if somebody is fat or unhealthy, if you think it's because of their bad habits, you might be making a mistake. It might be because of various things as pointed out by others. Similarly, if you judge someone because you caught him lying, cheating or even murdering, it can be a reflection of hundreds of things, including many good ones. Are you wise and unbiased enough to spot which one it is? If not, it's better not to judge at all. Judging by appearances is one of the main reasons why people choose to hide their real feelings or act in an already well enacted drama.
  16. Are you able to find any relations or links between the specific memory jump and the topic you are thinking?
  17. That's because people get bored easily talking about the same things again and again. For example, I have lost count of how many times people have discussed sollipism here.
  18. Science becomes the most dangerous one when it is in the hands of religious fanatics.
  19. Greek gods have the right to be bashed in any way the creators want. I don't know about other gods though.
  20. Yeah, it definitely works! Even in a deeply religious / Spiritual/ anti pleasure forum! It may not work in a gay forum though.
  21. I think he wants to boost his profile views.
