Yeah, so that's my point. The mind makes the distinction as to what is sadist and masochist. How can it tell the body how to feel when the body has no clue what these things are in order to represent that feeling. My thing is the body doesn't feel, it's the mind that's projecting it's thoughts and because we have so strongly identified with the body/mind we believe we tend to feel those thoughts as our being when in actuality it's just mind. This is probably why some yogis are capable of transcending pain using the mind. -

How's a dead Leo going to pursue consciousness. Has to survive to do that, no? -

Where in my statement says I DON'T CARE. A misinterpretation of what I said, will come from a mind that misinterprets reality. If I had a child and she gets raped, do you think I'm going to be like, oh well, it's all one, there's no separation...blah blah, no. I would probably end up in jail don't know. In a conversation as this where we're speaking about existential matters, it's appropriate to acknowledge what is true on an existential nature. I would not deny these things in the case of my raped child if asked but at the same time my reactions to it would also be of a human nature. No one is denying how humans react to things I was simply stating that on the higher level it's not a sick perspective. -

I'm not going to argue with you and i will leave this right here. Evil does not exist. Only Love exists. Anything else is a misrepresentation of Love and ignorance. -

It's OK, that's where you're at. Understanding of the bugger picture will dissolve this perspective. Realizing that it's energy at play and that the once the individual has emerged within consciousness and it believes it's a separate somebody that now has to fight to stay alive and it's me against the world and everything it sees is other, this comes with that type of energy. There's no separation, God doesn't see human and the Universe is impersonal. That's what unconditional love is. The limited mind has a hard time with this. I do understand your take, but it's a false perspective that was born out of ignorance to Truth. -

Yes, I understand this, but the original inquiry was about the mind telling the body how to feel and is that the case. That's what I'm exploring. -

This question right here is very profound and the answer may seem as simple as, "sure, what else is feeling this pain". But is it really. Maybe it's the mind that digs up information stored in memory as to what that circumstance should feel like and projects what it's feeling unto the body. I'm not sure but it's definitely one to ponder. Some people cannot even feel at all. There's a condition for that. -

That's what I'm saying. When you've been exposed to all these nuances via information and understanding, it starts to get technical and the specifics start to stand out more in the brain and the interpretation becomes a bit more subtle and itemized. E.g sensations VS feelings VS emotions VS brain VS mind VS body VS.... i mean, the list goes on. We have to differential them all and put them into their proper perspectives in order for this type of communication to be thoroughly understood or else, one can catch the discrepancies in one's argument or point. -
I don't think this issue is as black and white as this. You're looking at it more on the physical level and it's constructs. There are different types of personalities and characters when it comes to both genders and people can be very manipulative and vindictive. Also, most people don't really understand themselves and how the brain works in respect to masculine/feminine/left side/right side operations and how the genders operate based on these specifics. When I say manipulative and vindictive I'm referring to how the genders use these traits to try to get what they want out of life for their own personal gain. For example, a woman getting pregnant just to keep a man because she knows that's a way to get financial support from him and that the law will most likely be on her side. Or women getting purposely divorced so they can take half, or a man thinking he has the right to cheat because he's the breadwinner, and so on. People use these societal constructs to maneuver their way through life. On the level of masculine and feminine energy, though, both are made up of different components and are expressed in different ways in order for balance to be maintained. We, as a society, are the ones that apply day-to-day activities to provide for these expressions. There's nothing existential about a man opening the door for a lady or him paying for the entire meal or paying all the bills. These are contents that were made up by humans for expressions of the masculine/feminine energies when it comes to this topic; and these are just examples of which there are plenty. What I'm saying is, all you've pretty much mentioned are contents. Those can easily be replaced with other contents for the same argument; but these are 21century issues, and what we've been exposed to. Back in certain times masculine and feminine energies were being expressed in different ways with no problem like these ones we're experiencing now with the gender wars. I think, the energies still needs to be balanced in some sort of way in order for harmony to be present between the genders. How one feels within also plays a role because some females feel masculine and some men feel feminine inside. What you are describing to me is a problem of the feminine male who cannot or in incapable of connecting to his masculine side and doesn't feel he should cater to the feminine because inside he's torn between the two and doesn't see how nurturing a woman's feminine is either beneficial to him or it's in conflict with his dominant feature which is feeling more feminine than masculine. Strong masculine men won't have an issue in this regard because they've already felt how it feels to do just that and it has enhanced them more and allowed for that masculine energy to thrive so this issue is not within them. What you're describing is more of a feminine male's issue; and there's nothing wrong with that, it just needs to be recognized as so. A There's a characteristic that belongs to the feminine energy that thrives when it's being protected and cared for and a characteristic of the masculine that thrives when it gives of itself to show "dominion over" and a feeling of worthiness.

True dat🙄and they could all be right too - from their perspective that is; depending on what flavored water they chose. -

@Ishanga @Keryo Koffa @gettoefl Aren't sensations separate from the body/mind complex?. Meaning, a sensation is felt by the body so it cannot be the body and the mind interprets what that sensation feels like. Feelings are sensations; so how can the mind tell the body what sensation to feel when it's job is to interpret the sensation into say, happiness, joy, anger. Idk, seems like i'm confusing what sensations are, and the role they play in connection to the body and mind. -

Yeah, this can make quite the difference when there's no monkey mind present. -

I didn't realize one can tell the mind what to feel. I guess being a female and "feelings driven", I just thought it was a natural response that the body does. Then again, there's thought involved and thoughts have patterns, so one can change their thought patterns which then changes how one feels. I think that's how it works. Speaking about sensations, emotions, feelings, etc can get confusing at times since they're so similarly related. -

Yes, I did see this awhile back. Have to watch it again, though to remember the details. -

@NoSelfSelfIs this a game you're playing. This is the utmost game with no cheat codes. Never seen you played this game before. Pretty cool. I like. I remember when I felt one of these, it was awesome. Like everything just lit up in front of me, and it was night time. It was an experience I'll never forget. Nowadays, we call those glimpses; but I just call it an experience. -

Nice point. Very nice. Didn't think of it that way and I'm always the one saying "that's just a word". Never thought to correlate it with the word MIND. I guess it's the mind that didn't want to call itself "just a word". See how tricky that mind can be. It calls everything else out, but to itself, it wants to be THE MIND. The only word not made up. -

I understand exactly what you were saying. I've had cats all my life and i currently have one here now. I've always wondered something strange happens when I stare into her eyes but couldn't put my finger on it. She would turn right away sometimes and sometimes stare right back. Something in that cat speaks to me more than it's just a cat or cat communication. Your comment up top rings a bell. -

You know I was being smart. But I do understand that time got created through thought, so maybe there really is no mind. Idk, I'm just gonna operate as if there's one so I don't lose my mind. Then again, that's just thought. Don't get me to thinking. 🙃🙃 -

❤️Somehow I think this is the case; but I have to do more conceptualizing to see it through. Hehe. Reminds me of this short. -

The mind is my favorite thing to discuss in Spirituality as, to me, it's the bases of all understanding. In essence, ALL IS MIND, so It's crucial to understand how the mind works in order to get at the core of one's being. Basic psychology was my study in first year of college (only year), won't get into that, but with Pavlov and his dog lol, but that's low-level stuff compared to what I'm learning while engaging with Spiritual work and how the mind works. I'm always up for this kind of stuff. I've been observing my own mind and, boy, it's a piece of work. I have to constantly be putting it into check and trying to apply certain practices that I've become familiar with from certain high-level teachings. I prefer to understand why these practices work; and as I see the results, it gets more embedded within me. I can spot certain conditioned programs easier now; and I can see where I'm being led by them instead of consciously choosing. I've noticed changes that already came from constantly, and over time, instilling new thought patterns just by repetition and not allowing the mind to instill fear and doubt; but it takes for different programs to change one by one to see an overall change in identity where all areas of one's life has been transformed. It's really deeply embedded in one's psyche and takes more than just affirmations and blueboards. -

I learnt that from RJ Spina. His explanation resonated with me and made a lot of sense, just like you're saying here. Yes, that's the distinction I wanted to get clear with. I understand my inquiry better now thanks to all you brilliant "no minds". Hehe.
