  1. Neo advaita just keeps finding more and more ways to make a fool of itself on this topic
  2. What's inherently wrong with a power imbalance? From my experience I've noticed a lot of women don't mind this and are attracted to powerful men. I don't think it's the imbalance that's the problem but more so how the man uses it.
  3. no need to subtly demonize being selfish. to be finite and identified with the human form is to be ever slightly selfish. it's not possible to be entirely selfless and be a human at the same time. repeating this, no need to subtly demonize being selfish.
  4. Is there a point to spirituality/psychedelics aside from desire for truth? uh yeah... literally 90% of the people that get into this stuff is to resolve some form of suffering
  5. Maybe this should become a video game discussion thread?
  6. I wouldn't say it's easier to fear than to love. To fear takes work. To love simply requires doing nothing. I don't want to give the impression that I'm subtly demonizing fear with this post. Fear has it's purpose and is a useful emotion in some contexts.
  7. Im planning to revive this in 2021 and use it to help me build discipline
  8. most every morning while waking up from sleeping
  9. I'm going to rest till Christmas then start writing my year in review that I've done for the last few years and then update my life vision. Plan is to go into 2021 with a few things to focus on and start building discipline again. I've had a ton of spiritual insights and raised my consciousness a tremendous amount since I've fallen out of being disciplined but I desire being disciplined again to create some incredible experiences in my life that won't simply come to me during my usual routine.
  10. I keep trying to get back into the gym and work on my art projects. I draw up a 30 day challenge but after the first week I start missing days and it becomes demoralizing. I've been through periods where I was super disciplined and saw a project to it's end. I'm having a hard time currently though getting back into a disciplined mindset without tension coming up. How do you all keep promises to yourself and work through the emotions that come up? I've never had it this hard before being disciplined.
  11. breathe into it. accept that it is does feel overwhelming b/c it most def can feel this way. let go, this fear will resolve itself and you will have nothing to worry about here
  12. I suppose chopping your entire leg off to fix a broken leg is one way of finding a solution to a problem In all seriousness though if it is working for some people just let my criticism of it go. I’m not being entirely serious here. I've tried it before and didn’t notice any positives and I’ve seen a lot of skewed and unhealthy view points preach it so I tend to clap back when people preach no fap related stuff as a solution to their problems. I’m sure there are situations where a high quality practice of semen retention is what’s needed for a person.
  13. schools should teach consciousness and not to bully bullying was a big problem when I was in school. Not sure if it has gotten better since.
  14. https://www.npr.org/2020/12/22/948827323/in-cyberpunk-2077-the-only-truly-punk-move-is-not-to-play NPR has released a scathing review calling out the hypocrisy of the anti corporation story of this game and the fiasco of this game's launch
  15. It's a bit of a pity though cause there are tons of aspiring game developers that would completely destroy themselves working 6 days (12 hour shifts) a week in some highly prestigious studio doing crunch time work. Since the studio is so prestigious the brass at the top knows they can replace anyone that speaks out about their shitty working conditions and thus replace a cog in the machine with fresh meat. This is an all too common trap. Seems like there are few huge studios that genuinely try to build a long lasting family of sorts and don't push their staff to breaking points. Valve is one of the few I can name. It then takes Valve ages to make games though. I think people overlook the toxic orange habits actually required to make a huge AAA game on a timely basis. It's not possible to produce some of these massive games in a few years without overworking the team.
  16. you don't need to meditate all day to gain spiritual insights. you might even find yourself getting stuck in such a situation. people seen the Buddhist monk character of the recluse in the mountains and automatically assume that is the most conscious person.
  17. I disagree. This is akin to claiming the pursuit for money is purely evil and not to pursue money. It's a purity test of altruism. There are degrees of altruism.
  18. I wouldn't say it's so black and white like true/false when it comes to emotions. There are many way to approach emotions. Emotions are more like a language of sorts and just like how language how all sorts of vocabulary from simple to complex words, emotions are similar to this. Some feel better than others and understood easier than others. It is the mind that contextualizes them and then from there healthy choices can be made or unhealthy ones the body/mind work in tandem. All emotions are true in a sense that if you are experiencing it in the present moment it exists, the content of them ,or how you contextualize it or the beliefs behind them or how you understand why it is arising is more open for interpretation usually and is fluid. For example: you may see someone at the mall and it looks like they laugh at you. you feel self conscious and embarrassed because you believe they may be laughing at you. it's true that you are experiencing an emotion but the belief behind it may be skewed in some way that doesn't serve you.
  19. people scared of nukes while climate change will slowly reshape humanity in very uncomfortable way for some time
  20. really sorry you are going through this. can really hurt when one is betrayed. i would honor your hurt self. it's ok to be vulnerable and feel innocent and confused and feel hurt. there is true bravery in embracing one's vulnerability and feeling it fully.
