@Leo Gura Its true, they have shut a lot of markets down. But the actual frame where these markets stand, which is the darknet, can never be shut down. I advice you to read up on blockchain technology to see how dire the situation really can become. With blockchain technology nobody is in control. Of course it will never become mainstream. But it is growing out of proportions. There are big markets online right now which have been online for 1+ years. They will be shut down eventually but that does not mean they haven't operated successfully for over a year, moving huge volume. You underestimate the power of technology in these situations. For example encrochat, an end to end encrypted chat service, has recently been shut down and hacked by the police, they were able to read all messages. However this was only possible because the police seized the servers and put a new update out for encrochat, which was actually a virus created by the police, uncovering all encrypted keys allowing for the messages to be seized and read. So the problem lay in the centralized nature of the service. With true end to end encryption the messages will take literally millions of years to crack. Technology can do somethings no humans can do. I say all these things with confidence because I have a friend who studies cybersecurity at university who catches me up with all these things. The regulation is less strong than you think.

No. First get money, get your own apartment and learn about the world. Build your skills. Do do-nothing meditation and regular meditation daily, as your only spiritual practice. Make sure your career and life purpose is going strong. Learn to be a good devil and learn to take your responsibilities. Learn how to get good with women. Make sure you are not addicted to porn or any drugs. Build a strong, clean life and then pursue enlightenment if you really want when you approach 30. Thats what I'm gonna do anyways, I'm also still young. Right now im just focusing on myself. So to round it up, just build skills, get money and do meditation. And some partying and fun stuff on the side. Live a normal youngsters life. If you make it to 30, go for enlightenment. and if you don't, well you will be enlightened anyway since you're dead. Good luck! And of course decide for yourself don't take my word for it. But I can't stress enough, BUILD SKILLS!!!! if you want to stand on your own feet, A.k.a. hunt like a lion, you need skills.

@Heart of Space I bet. But who cares about libertarian fairytales. Globalism is coming and is here to stay. I was actually quite shocked at watching Leo's video on libertarianism, one of the least profound videos of him. That got me thinking, this is probably only profound in the USA. Here in europe you are either far right or globalist. Its probably because we had feudalism in Europe, and the USA was founded with the libertarian dream in mind in the first place. Here in Europe we know authority is needed.

@Leo Gura With the rise of the darknet a global black market has sprouted. The feds would love to shut the darknet down which is impossible. Ironically the darknet (tor browser & hidden services) has been designed by the USA. Frankenstein vibes. I think it is understated in the media how big of problem this will be. Interpol has already warned that they are failing miserably at controlling the darknet market.

However there exists a thing called bitcoin mixers which almost all heavy users of bitcoin use, criminals and money launderers. They work like this, if you send me (The mixer) 10$ in bitcoin, they can see the adress where it came from and the adress where it is sent to. However i send you 10$ In bitcoin back, from a completely different adress, to another completely different adress in your control. It is now your job to slowly cash these bitcoin out without suspicion. How else do you think cyber-extorters get away? Yes you are right in the fact that bitcoin is traceable (untraceable if you use mixers) but it certainly is anonymous. You can generate bitcoin adreses without any identification. As for your example, they must have done it in a really dumb way. Why else do you think bitcoin is still the preference for any cyber criminal? If you know what you’re doing you cant get caught. Of course you wont hear the media repeating this. It cannot be regulated because all bitcoin transactions happen on the blockchain which is completely decentralized by definition! It is the very reason bitcoin grew any value in the first place. There even exists a cryptocurrency now which is 100% untraceable; Monero. Its not an anarchist dream, its reality. The technology has allowed for it, simple. However I do agree that there can never be only deregulated currency. The deregulated currency is only worth shit if you can trade it for regulated currency.

It will not happen for a long time, because the benefit of having separate currencies is that you can have different monetary policies for each currency. Until we truly become a global village this benefit is needed. @Leo Gura Bitcoin actually can’t be regulated by definition, its a decentralized currency. Yes governments try their best to regulate the exchanges where bitcoin is traded for cash, but the currency itself is anonymous & decentralized by principal.

@Space true, but I think it is underappreciated how hard it is for people to 'not go overboard with it'. Watching porn 1 time every week probably is not bad for you, but for me that 1 time would inevitably turn into a spree, that's why I abstain from it. I truly think porn by itself is dangerous for a lot of people.

@Leo Gura I don’t think you appreciate how bad porn & masturbation addiction can be. To the point where you literally dont have interest in sex anymore. You are horny af but only for porn. This feels super backwards and not human. I would look at a girls ass and be aroused but know that I would not be able to get hard with her in bed. I had it so bad where my mind was literally making the physical world seem virtual, because sex is the most important thing in our physical experience, and my mind was linking sex with virtuality. This went away when I stopped porn. Knowing you are physically incapable of sex drains your lust for life heavily. I know its quite a hefty example but its a slippery slope. Porn is literally like drugs, as in it simulates the rewards we should get from survival activity but then a 100 times more. We are not evolved for this at all.

Im asking because I used to be very passionate about worldly matters, and being in the world, because it was all real to me. But after hearing about Buddhism and your work, saying everything is imaginary etc. it has made me way more nihilistic and unsure about my worldview in a nihlistic way. Do you have some advice for this?

Big if true. But if time is imaginary anyway, you can also say that it already was imagined to begin with before you looked at it with the same effort.

So with proper science, for example archeology, we are discovering the truths of our own imagination? Thats actually quite inspiring.

Thanks for your answer bro. I kinda realize this but its very hard for my mind to not ruminate about these questions. I noticed that the idea of a dream feels claustrophobic to me, like the world is super small. I realize it doesn’t have to be this way but its hard. I guess I have to put the theory away for a while and focus on meditating and exploring different perspectives. One more question, how can there be correct history and incorrect history if all history is as imaginary as a fairytale? There must be some truth to what we have conceived of as time. You might say there is only now but saying i was born 20 years ago is more true than saying i was born 10 years ago.

@Natasha Is not wanting to be tortured really about survival? I would rather get a bullet in my head today than be mercilessly tortured for 2 weeks and survive.

If you would have zero bias, you would accept absolutely anything in the universe. Which is what universal love is. So "everything is Love" actually comes from a place of zero bias. We as humans can never do this but the universe does because it is completely unbiased.

@Leo Gura Where do you find the inspiration and motivation to still be passionate about discussing and philosophizing about worldly matters like politics, when at the same time labeling everything as pure imagination? Just for fun or for leaving an intellectual legacy as Leo? This might sound like a harsh question, its not, i just find it hard to comprehend being passionate about something which you think is just as real as the dream you had last night.

That must means the impersonal lies at a deeper level than the personal. But also the impersonal is equal to to the personal, because how else could it be a person in the first place. Trippy.
