Mexican restaurant workers helping a cop that was pepper sprayed. I lived in Mexico for 10 years and this is what they are like. https://packaged-media.redd.it/cea9uxk5b06f1/pb/m2-res_590p.mp4?m=DASHPlaylist.mpd&v=1&e=1749592800&s=1f6cd1577fae5af5d25563feb479b1d3244e59b0

Swami Vivekanda believed in a harmonizing Love (Bhakti yoga) and Inquiry (Jnana Yoga). Hear are a few quotes: "Religion is realization; not talk, nor doctrine, nor theories, however beautiful they may be” “Love God with all your heart, but do not cease to question and discriminate. The truth will stand the test of scrutiny, and love will carry you to it." ” Questioning refines the intellect, while love purifies the emotions, and both prepare the mind for realizing the ultimate truth." "Bhakti is not belief; it is the direct perception of the truth through love.” -

In this lecture, Vivekananda is explaining the necessity of faith (shraddha in Vedanta) as a prerequisite for spiritual realization. He argues that belief in the possibility of truth—whether in God, the soul, or ultimate reality—creates the mental and emotional foundation for pursuing and experiencing it. This belief is not blind but a starting point that inspires effort, practice, and eventual direct knowledge through spiritual disciplines like Bhakti Yoga or Jnana Yoga. -

“The first condition of knowing the truth is to believe in it. You must believe in a thing first, before you can know it. Knowledge follows belief, and only through that belief can you reach knowledge.” The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda, Volume 3 -

But when I said beliefs can be a method of focus you immediately said “no”. You didn’t entertain the idea or ponder what would have to happen for it to be true. So there is an assumption there so deep that it is viewed as obvious and not as a belief. But it is a belief. -
California has become the primary target of the Trump Administration. That includes not only the threat of mass deportations but also the threat of witholding federal funds. If Governor Newsom wants to become president, this is his golden opportunity to meet this challenge. This is a major test of his leadership. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/immigration/californias-governor-unfazed-threats-arrest-trump-administratio-rcna211752

And those are your beliefs. The beliefs that are delusional are the ones that you actually think are true. -

The beliefs are a method to focus the mind and abandon delusion. The Hindus understand this with Bakhti yoga. -

The New Age is shallow. That also includes most of the non duality stuff. Many have dumped neo advaita because when the shit hits the fan trite phrases like “waking up from the dream” and “I am God” prove laughably useless. Real religion addresses the core of one’s being and provides support in the toughest of times. It’s not intellectual bullshit. -
It shouldn’t take a lot of analysis to conclude that law enforcement wearing masks is an ominous development. ICE is just ramping up with billions allocated in the new budget. This heavy handed approach will tear apart communities creating massive resistance, which creates justification for use of emergency powers, and the national guard and the military used against citizens and non citizens equally. I don’t think this is what people voted for.

Musk is in over his head. Money doesn’t automatically give you power. There is more to it than that. You make enemies and have to be able to handle that. Musk’s drug use shows that he needs to keep down the pain, which takes a lot of energy. He is mentally unstable.

Shamanism, like all psychedelics, has been corrupted by money. That’s why you get this crap like “there are no bad trips” or “what happened to me under Ayahausca was like 10 years of therapy”. It's marketing crap of a capitalist culture. Also, looking for something “safe” is an obsession of modern materialism. The shaman I went to in Peru was willing to take you to the edge of death.

It's interesting how quickly this has degenerated and how quickly Musk went for the jugular, with his “Trump is in the Epstein files” comment. Musk decided to burn his bridges. And this is based on a disagreement on the budget. Musk, with his big ego, must have actually believed that he was a coequal partner with the President of the United States instead of a subordinate volunteering time and money. It shows the emptiness of the modern world that someone so immature became the richest man in the world. It’s interesting to compare Elon Musk to Robert Kennedy. RFK accepts his role as a bit player and never criticizes Trump even though he disagrees with him on far more issues than Musk does. This doesn’t mean Trump is correct, but just acknowledges the reality of the power dynamics.

Of course MLK had doubts and struggles. He was a human being. But he was living in a state of higher consciousness so his commitment to non violence was 100%. Hoover did everything he could to discredit MLK, including painting him as a communist subversive and a moral degenerate. Be careful of your sources. -

You are repeating propaganda which was put out by J. Edgar Hoover to convince Americans that MLK was a communist. But the bottom line is what he did worked. There is no comparison between society in the 50s and today. People could see the vicious attacks against civil rights protestors on television, and their natural human impulse that this was wrong made is feasible for politicians to make real changes. -

My theory of what is wrong with wokeism, is that it comes from academics who are Marxists and hence materialists. So their solutions can only come from states of lower consciousness, like anger and revenge. For example, for several decades after Martin Luther King, the official narrative was that everyone is equal and society should be color blind. But then the word “white” started entering the discourse and then there was white privilege, and white this and white that. Previously, anthropologists were pointing out that race is a cultural construction and has no basis in biology. Leaders like Martin Luther King and Ghandi were leading from states of higher consciousness, like compassion. Martin Luther King was a Christian minister and Ghandi was a Hindu. It should be noted that the right wing has become equally materialistic. So you have people who have no compassion for an immigrant washing dishes 12 hours a day to feed his family because he broke some technical law designed to keep him out. -
On Friday afternoon, ICE agents stormed an Italian Restaurant in South Park, a neighborhood of San Diego. Their tactics were extremely aggressive. They used flash bang grenades and handcuffed all of the restaurant staff. They then took away two employees. They had agents in full military combat fatigues carrying heavy weapons. The citizens of the community were angry and mobilized a protest. They were met with smoke grenades. As a background, South Park is a quiet middle class neighborhood and one of the safest areas in San Diego. The raid appears to be deliberate intimidation of a quiet liberal neighborhood. It was done on a Friday, the busiest day for restaurants. This event is at odds with the claim that the government is only going after criminals to deport them. All of this manpower was expended to traumatize a peaceful neighborhood to capture dishwashers at a restaurant. As for the two suspects, I can’t find anything on who they are, what they are suspected of doing, and even where they are. Are they still being detained? Where? If they were so dangerous why isn’t ICE giving the data? This doesn’t seem to be moving in a good direction. When this ramps up to full speed, random citizens can just be routinely disappeared off the streets. I thought it would be good to keep a thread documenting these raids to record what is actually happening on the ground. Video of angry neighborhood fighting back. https://x.com/cwebbonline/status/1928801611410710587 https://x.com/EricLDaugh/status/1928829145305219224

Community leaders are demanding answers from Judge who signed off on the warrant. ICE agents came into a peaceful neigborhood armed to the teeth wearing military fatigues and armed with machine guns to arrest a few people working their based on a tip they were undocumented. In addition they handcuffed innocent people who were working their. https://www.kpbs.org/news/politics/2025/06/02/san-diego-leaders-to-respond-to-ice-raid-in-south-park https://x.com/MAGACult2/status/1929952136953008480 -

Psychedelics opens up the unconscious mind which contains all kinds of delusional beliefs and assumptions. They are delusion-revealers, not truth-revealers. -

The main issue I have with Christianity is their exclusivity claim – the claim that they have the only true path and every other path is false. This interpretation comes from the Roman Empire. The Emperor wanted to unify a failing empire with one God / one emperor and dump all the other gods. If you drop the exclusivity, the rest of it is true. -

Peterson’s knowledge of God and religion is purely intellectual. He can use his analytic mind to comprehend that - despite all the flaws - religion is a good idea. But he hasn’t had any direct experience. He is too much in his head. That is why he is so wishy washy when people try to pin him down on what he specifically knows. Because he doesn't. He reminds me of Terence McKenna whose giant intellectual mind reduced the profundity of a psychedelic experience to machine elves. I also don’t find these debates very useful because they are all assuming a straw-man conception of God which comes from the Judeo-Christian tradition. This is what most westerners were brought up with. Even an elemental reading of Eastern scriptures would answer most of their basic questions.
