  1. Buddha's teachings are encoded in the theravada tradition. The idea of a bodisattva comes from the later tradition of mahayana, which the Buddha didn't teach.
  2. The New Testament is mostly Paul's system. If one of your strands believes in an entity called "Christ" that has the ability so save believers than it isn't from the teachings of Jesus. If you believe "do to others as you would do to yourself" than it would be from the Jesus teachings, but Buddha said basically the same thing.
  3. No Jesus didn't teach christianity. Jesus never taught metaphysical principles. Christianity is largely an invention of Paul. Jesus wouldn't have any idea of what christianity is and would probably say "What the fuck?".
  4. Keep in mind that there is no proof that Jesus ever existed. There is a consensus among bible scholars that he did exist, but their opinions are highly self-biased. Furthermore, if he existed, Jesus was not a Christian. The "Christ" is a metaphysical concept, that this metaphysical entity "Christ" will enter your heart and save you if you just believe in it.
  5. Sure, you have the Tibetan Lama that meditates in a cave for a year in the dead of winter and melts the snow with his energy generated from meditation. You aren’t likely to find that in the West. On the other hand, India has a talent for generating some of the most entertaining fake gurus around.
  6. Falling for scoundrels is part of the spiritual path.
  7. I have been there. It is a real mindfuck. But I learned that it is a mutual contract. The deceived want to be deceived and the leader is a vampire sucking their energy for his own ego inflation. I used it as a spiritual device to look inside myself to find that part of me that wants to be deceived so it can be liberated and pray for the awakening of my intuition.
  8. I am all in favor of the government investigating cults and protecting people from being abused. If Sadhguru turns out to be a scoundrel then let him pay the price. I have had personal contact with some of these sham religious leaders with their egos full of deviltry, so I recognize the need for prosecutorial oversight.
  9. The recent attack on Hezbollah by Israel made my realize that none of us really has a clue of what is going on. You couldn’t have predicted this from anything in the mainstream or alternate media. The information on the media is very bad quality. As for the causes, the most accurate thing that can be said is that these are groups of people processing their mutual karma. We spend a lot of time trying to understand a situation we have no control over. Another good reason to get off social media.
  10. The starting point is the vast knowledge of the East where they approached spirituality as a subjective science. Western religion never developed the scientific precision of the East. The Yoga Sutras outlines any spiritual path. The problem with the Eastern approach is the time it takes. If you had gone to Adi Shankaracharya in the middle ages and asked him to teach you Advaita Vedanta, he would of said you weren’t ready and you would have to do service in hopes of being qualified to learn Vedanta in the next lifetime. The qualifications to even be permitted to learn the knowledge were very high. So you didn’t have any immature silly people running around claiming they are god. The question is if we can use tools such as psychedelics to cut down the time it takes to get into deeper states of awareness.
  11. If the leaders of Muslim countries were that concerned about Palestine, the most effective strategy would be to form an economic boycott. How could Israel survive not being able to do business with the countries that surround it? But they don’t. America buys off countries like Egypt, and uses its economic power to keep the Arab rulers in line. These rulers have to be plugged into the global system to maintain their economies and keep from being overthrown by their own populations. So, of course, Israel couldn’t survive without American power.
  12. This is a big barrier. It's important to remember that Yitzhak Rabin was assasinated for his support of the peace process. If someone is for peace, their life is in danger. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassination_of_Yitzhak_Rabin
  13. It depends on your journey and state of mind. Right now San Pedro is doing it for me - way deeper than mushrooms or ayahausca.
  14. Irrelevant. What the professor was saying is that China can no longer trust the parts of their supply chain that comes from the West. This is the bottom line.
  15. This has released hell. Eventually a terrorist group will randomly distribute 1000 cellphones in the US and simultaneously explode them. Keep in mind that the US thought it was the only one that would have a nuclear bomb. It doesn't work that way.
  16. Now that this technology has been released, it will be used by everyone, and nobody will be safe with a cellphone or any other device. The world is being made more dangerous by the lust for power.
  17. This channel likes India. https://www.youtube.com/@kyle_paul/videos
  18. It will still be cleaner than ingesting social media.
  19. I have been looking for spiritual tour groups that visit holy places but haven't found anything good yet. I think that would be the most efficient way to use the resources and time. If you aren't in to spirituality, than India is a waste of time. The other thing is the brutal trip from the USA, all the flights seem to take about 30 hours to get there.
  20. Chatgpt gave me the answer in a few minutes.
  21. If you want transformation, you need a long-term and consistent spiritual practice. The psychedlic journey is a tool that makes it easier to go inside and do inner work and is done when called for within the context of your practice.
  22. The border is a legitimate issue. Robert Kennedy discusses the border rationally bringing up the real issues without using racist language to provoke emotions.
  23. The left has as many biases as the right. I have talked to democrat party liberals who hate Putin and blame Russia for all the problems in the world. But they are doing the same thing that Senator Joseph McCarthy did in the 1950s (which all good liberals condemn). They both listen to their own echo chamber and are locked into a group think.
