Tate probably sees Epstein as big daddy lol -

I think he expresses exactly the worldview that is also being held by people like Epstein: There is no value except pure power. Either youre an predator or youre prey. Caring about morality is like caring about a fairy-tale and youre depraved acts of sexual-abuse also work as affirmation of that. And in a sense it is the most fucked-up mutation of postmodernism. -

It is really hard to make sense of all of this. There are so many informations bubbling up and it is pretty hard to decipher whats a legible source and what not. It will probably take years to decode all of this. Also at the same time I think the timing of flooding the world with all this right now might also be strategic in a larger play. -
When is it coming out? Im hyped.

@Joseph Maynor Good stuff!

Early to say, but I guess this one will be the movie of the year for me:

Why is this so good?

You should seriously study the history of unintended-consequences of tech and the incentive-landscape in which this technology gets developed and it will become pretty hard to still hold this view.

Im reading David Bohms Wholeness and the Implicate Order right now and his work is a nice addition to the series. "On the other hand, if we regard our theories as direct descriptions of reality as it is, then we will inevitably treat these differences and distinctions as divisions, implying seperate eistence of the various elementary term appearing in the theory" "We will thus be led to the illusion that the world is actually constituted of seperate fragments and, as already been indicated, this will cause us to act in such a way that we do in fact produce the very fragmentation implied in our attitude to the theory"

This dude is amplifying the decay of the whole international-order by 10x

If you are already investing this amount of money you should check out Qualia Mind. It simplifies your stack by a lot and entails a lot of the same ingredients, but more comprehensively thought through, so that they synthesize with each other. I have been experimenting with nootropics a lot and the best cognitive-stack I have found for peak mental-clarity, but also emotional-regulation, stress-resilience and easier access to positive-states, without any downside is Qualia Mind, 5-10grams of Creatine and a few mgs of nicotine (stay under 5mg optimally and dont smoke) here and there. Everything that is more effective short-term for focus, cognitive-edge, mental-alertness usually comes with downsides or downregulation later on for example with Piracetam, Modafinil, Amodafinil, Noopept etc...

I love the Talking Heads, unfortunately I missed the movie when it was in cinema.

This is funny Yes I can totally understand you. This is the culture of last-men as Nietzsche saw it. I also find it almost a bit scary and can see Arendts banality of evil in it. I also noticed that if I socialize with people like this when Im not careful Im prone to making sarcastic-comments which as you said will often be read as hostility from my side. There is definitely a huge rift there and I can just be playful and funny for some time, but deeper meaningful contact can get pretty hard.

This one always gets me.

@Jowblob I think I understand where youre coming from I just dont think this perspective is conducive to the situation at hand. I think it is very easy to rationalize/excuse very horrific acts in this way. Reminds me of how the zen teacher D.T. Suzuki helped japan soldiers in WW2 to kill more easily without bad conscience by teching them zen. And what are the consequences of thinking in this way? -

This is such a weird perspective. -
I would say everything that you truly enjoy is worth pursuing as long as it not gets addictive or damaging. Cultivate your love for life in your unique way. The mindset that everyting that you do should be furthering your self-development or have some utilitarian benefit can be a huge trap of personal-development.
