  1. is validation important? feel seen? then it seems like people are babies and art is a pacifier they can suck on, nobody gets up in the morning saying "Ah! ready to give everybody validation and comfort, because that's Important!"
  2. @Gili Trawangan Oh I'm not saying I can't appreciate good movies, In fact I'm a huge fan & and love them to death. but just how do you convince yourself that that's the most important work you could be doing?
  3. You get me, I'm also interested in Art an I've been considering turning it into my life purpose for months now. But I always fail to see what's the point of it, and it has to be strong! how am I supposed to wake up in the morning saying my work is the most important thing there is? how can you say that when all you do is paint or make cartoons? (which is what I'm interested in) how can cartoons or music be the most important thing there is? a person who thinks that has to be seriously misguided about everything. I can bullshit myself into thinking that Cartoons are important, but I can never bullshit myself into feeling that cartoons are important. replace "Cartoons" with every artistic field, they're all the same.
  4. I agree, every work can be seen as art. Maybe I'm not clear here, I'm trying to compare Technical people and people interested in science, math, engineering to people interested in Storytelling, books/writing, music, film, sculpting, animation, 3D modeling, Games and the rest A good example is China and their ban on Video games, I think its safe to assume that they think video games & movies and somehow harmful to society.
  5. Examples: the people we consider valuable, noble and who shaped our society Mathematicians, Scientists, Leaders, Engineers (overall technical people) 1. Albert Einstein 2. Elon Musk (Tesla,Spacex,Paypal,TBC) 3. Alan Turing (So impactful they put him on the 50 pound note) 4. Steve Jobs (Apple) 5. Bill Gates (Microsoft) 6. Henry Ford (The Ford Company) Maybe it's because Leaders are more impactful, and most Artists have no interest in Leadership it seems, but technical people do. take those I listed above and compare them to these: 1. Pablo Picasso 2. Michelangelo 3. Walt Disney (Honesty, I don't even know how something like Disneyland contributes to humankind, its all just fun and games...) 4. Every Musician ever (I googled most well known musicians, and I feel like even if you took all 50ish of them that we're listed in the search, all 50 couldn't hold a candle to a single one listed above) 5. George Lucas 6. Quentin Tarantino These last two we're the best examples. The Musicians seem to be the least valuable. it really seems like these people we're just the support pillars to inspire the people who actually made a difference. Albert was a fan of music, SteveJ loved Bob Dylan
  6. @Gili Trawangan What about artists who make action movies? those don't connect you to God?
  7. How the hell is Jordan unaware of Actualized.org if they're on the same podcast talking about Noam Chomsky, It would be awesome if more mainstream guys discovered Actualized.org, And if that's too much to ask for at least Spiral Dynamics has to get popularized So tired of only being able to talk about these things on this forum, online.
  8. It also has the most important thing of all League of Legends
  9. Leo's expectation of JP dropped so hard when he said nature is everything lol
  10. @Focus Shift There is a guy on Youtube who made such an amazing 3D video series about aliens, and he only received minimal help from other artists if I can remember correctly. I can't access youtube right now but I think the series is 3 or 4 videos long, if you add up those videos It probably comes close to 1.30h or 2 hours, and that's exactly how long films are. It's MelodySheep on YT the series is called Life beyond It did take him a long time to make those vids, but hey Eric Barone the guy who made Stardew Valley coded the game by himself in 4 years.
  11. you have a ghost girl with you? that means that you're the protagonist of this reality and I'm just the side character... fuck.
  12. A series? I deeply considered taking the same path as you, becoming a animator and making a series. I quickly realized that it wouldn't work, A series that is... make a film, a series is going to take you way longer, way more money, way more time and to top it all off its going to make you way less money than a film, Films are wayyy easier to market to people and do better financially almost every time. There was no report about how much Demon Slayer made as a series, but the Demon Slayer film (Mugen train) broke world records and is sitting at the top of every Anime ever created (Including series and films) at $503 Million only box office revenue, when you count all the other income sources like merch... that film is way up there in the Trillions. Its a more long term advice, I was planning on creating a film and then move to series. Maybe I'll actually pursue that dream, I had innovative ideas like creating world's first 2D Character rigging system so that 2D animation can be done faster and cheaper resulting in better efficiency and better money management and allocation.
  13. the media is taking the biggest shit on joe right now
  14. So you think you can't realize your life purpose while going to high school? what makes you think realizing your life purpose is easier with a job rather than high school? its clearly a foolish assumption, thinking that a job is easier than high school. You definitely lack real life experience and proper judgment because 1. you're 16 and 2. you're saying this BS you can realize your life purpose and go to high school at the same time, go realize your life purpose and build SKILL in a field. That's pretty much the only thing you can do being so young, and don't wait on building skills... they're crucial for your success START RIGHT NOW, you have a 2 year head start so START NOW. The way you're going to make money is with skill, don't think you're just going to build a business that's going to make you money.
  15. That's really fucking funny, what's funnier is how sensitive stage green is to words just because some ******* decided it was offensive to their race.
  16. Steve Jobs only ate fruit most his life, and he died of pancreatic cancer. I thought about it a lot after reading his biography, the link between the pancreas and fruit/sugar. That diet definitely* cut his life short.
  17. I have a passion for writing extremely brutal action novels, and even regular novels. But I always failed to see how a Novel makes a difference in the world, even though I love novels... I simply cannot see how writing novels/books can be as impactful on society as for example making electric cars like Tesla, and that's the type of big impact I always wanted to make. So I let it go, just couldn't bring myself to do it. I think that your Life purpose orbits around your real world experience, ur beliefs and interests, so anything you believe/have an interest in can potentially become your life purpose, example: Hitler, Its very clear that Hitler had a toxic life purpose, his life purpose was formed because he believed something untrue about Jews/religions/blacks/minorities. If he believed that Christianity is true and had an interest in it, there would be a good chance that Hitler would become a pastor/pope instead of a mass murderer. so I think you should just expose yourself to more real world experiences. so a better life purpose can be formed, maybe you find something that you're more interested in than bodybuilding. "it resonates with you emotionally and intellectually"
  18. Well the good news is that once Kim Jong-un dies, his sister will become the supreme leader the catch is that she's a meth head. sarcasm.
  19. @Tech36363 if you disabled some Google tracking and data collection in your Google account settings then Youtube will stop recommending you new videos, so maybe you did that... I would recommend you to look at your "Time watched" section and if its longer that 2 hours per day you should outright quit the app or limit yourself from using it with extensions. You care about Youtube recommendations, which is mostly Youtube's way of eating all your time and attention. Many of us are stage orange and we like to feel like we're stage yellow, and because the concept of an Internet, infinite information & knowledge is very stage yellow, we justify our overconsumption thinking we're getting more conscious. keeping up with world news is important, but most of us are too immature to use it responsibly which means its better for us not to use it at all or in a very controlled environment, which is something to work on. Leo's Satisfaction Meditation Video Block YT Recommendations Block YT / Limit Your Consumption To A Certain Amount Per Day oh and btw if you like YT music you can switch to music.youtube.com
  20. its strange, I went through a strong 3y depression. never considered or taken any drug while it lasted (with the purpose of calming it down). isn't it just a temporary relief? I was depressed because of tangible & real reasons that existed in the real world, drugs would've calmed me down yes... but what's the point if the reason I'm depressed is still real? from my narrow stage orange/green perspective, taking drugs is pointless and unsustainable. I'm guessing depression is as old of a concept as the human mind, the human mind existed for thousands of years while (according to Google) medicine is only 200ish years old, So if Aristotle was depressed, he had to cure it without medicine which kills every claim trying to prove that someone actually needs medicine to fight depression. just to moved to Frankfurt, right next to the Main river. Maybe take a jog instead of drugs, those gramps I see outside riding their bicycles seem pretty happy to me.
  21. check out gentlemans gazette on YT don't start caring about aesthetics, approval, respect & luxury too much.
  22. there, good & tangible advice! these skills are VITAL if you want to be a LEADER, and the only way you're going to make a big scale impact is if you become one. Steve jobs traveled to India two-ish years before founding Apple, he was searching for enlightenment , spirituality & inspiration, its the same for you, its just that you will be searching for different things (communication, argumentation, thinking, charisma and self confidence) p.s you don't necessary have to travel anywhere
  23. Or have someone with massive integrity, that's the most important quality for people with power. Someone like Edward Snowden or Simon Sinek who's teaching leadership and leadership integrity... people like that do exist
  24. Well... given that we started negatively impacting the climate and then LATER discovered, that if we keep doing it its actually going to become a problem. mankind might be working on creating another problem for itself RIGHT fucking NOW, maybe its the Metaverse, Maybe its A.I, but if history repeats itself then we won't know until we're already stuck in a lot of shit. and of course everything is done with good intentions, we invented the internet thinking it was going to be amazing and beneficial to us, only for it to be amazing and beneficial with new addictions created like social media addiction, conspiracy theories spreading like Australian wild fires, TikTok which is so out of control and in a league of its own, you can't even put it in a social media category, you might not see a problem with it if you don't have any young siblings, but I see grown men struggling to build any type of work ethic in their lives Tiktok just surpassed google as the most visited website, let that sink in & read it again if you can't believe your eyes, That means TikTok.com is more popular and more visited than GOOGLE.COM, that almost makes a TikTok account more valuable for businesses than a website, because a website is accessed through the google search engine. https://www.forbes.com/sites/johanmoreno/2021/12/29/tiktok-surpasses-google-facebook-as-worlds-most-popular-web-destination/?sh=2c81ee4a43ef
  25. compared to America that is... the US is massively more social than most EU countries, I'm not saying that young people HATE living in EU, its just that MOST would rather live in "the promised land of the American dream", Its like America has some type of genius marketing strategy aimed at everyone else saying "This where you want to live" See how Leo talks about pick up and cold approaching woman, that's possible in Europe but way more taboo than in US, I recently saw a video of some American youtuber ranting about PewDiePie's video about cringing at pickup artists, after that I saw the contrast between US and the EU, Europe is very organized and focused when it comes to work. I would describe the difference between two continents as Tight and Loose jeans, Focused & organized with no room to breathe vs Relaxed and all over the place (chaotic at times) edit: damn that's such a good comparison, exactly how it is. AND SORRY ORIGINAL POSER FOR GOING OFF TOPIC
