  1. @Someone here Life is a dream, in the sense that it is fundamentally indifferent to a dream you have when you are asleep. Think of the term, 'awakening'
  2. It's literally an endless source of toxic stage-orange traits.
  3. You just highlighted the two MOST important tools for learning how the mind works almost never*
  4. @Nahm So, sort of pleasing the ego? I think I get what you mean. Although I have been doing my ordinary stuff recently, I don't feel particularly less aware, or confused / frustrated about reality. My mind is still constantly self-inquiring, even when I don't really feel like it. So I guess I can rely on my obsession with enlightenment to keep me in alignment while I go through this rough patch.
  5. Recently, life has been very turbulent. I am trying to get over a breakup while dealing with a lot of negative emotions, and I have been using old habits that I usually abstain from to escape. ( Weed, video games, porn ). I just have no motivation to sit down and read for a while, to try a new self-actualisation technique, anything really. ( I am still meditating however ). Will this just make the problem worse, or should I wait before I start pushing myself to develop again?
  6. It can be so hard to ground yourself. If you happen to be in the right setting it can be amazing, but otherwise you just get stuck in a delusional & dense mind-fog. Glad I'm not the only one!
  7. Good point, everything is relative. I'll start doing things relative to my current baseline, and as I start find more clarity, I'll do more ambitious things. Thanks!
  8. I hate it, but at the same time I love it. It has shown me LOVE, and it has given me answers and perspectives that have changed my life. It has also caused me to believe totally ridiculous and delusional things. Once I smoked too much and convinced myself I had spontaneously gone deaf! It usually only gives me great insights / therapeutic benefits when I use it VERY consciously. ( So, don't get into the habit of smoking everyday ) edit: the deaf thing was when it was mixed with LSD. Still.
  9. @Preety_India Thank you, this is very reassuring. @loub That was a good link, being aware of the habits / addictions you have when certain feelings arise, and separating those from the feelings themselves / yourself is very important to recovery & the path in general. What does this mean? @Nahm The answer is often counter intuitive, I guess. I feel like that would be a bad idea though...
  10. Psychedelics increase your awareness. If done correctly, you will come out of the trip slightly ( or possibly greatly ) more aware than you were before. Reality may feel 'trippy', not because of some strange after-affect, but because you begin to realise that what you call a 'trip' is constantly happening in your 'sober state'. These words will only have any meaning once you try it. So, when you are stable, confident, and prepared, go and find out for yourself. No amount of explanation will satisfy your curiosity. I integrate my experiences by contemplating the questions they leave me with, which lead to more realisations.
  11. @Nahm @Meta-Man Radical. I'll have to try and find this out for myself.
  12. Yesterday I ate 5-8 grams of mushrooms, and observed as reality unravelled its phenomenological layers before me - revealing how One 'disguises' itself as two during ordinary life. It was truly profound, yet terrifying at the same time. However now I am left with more questions. Why must I return to my human mind? If I am imagining my entire human experience, then why do I have no control over returning to it. And - why must consciousness imagine a universe, earth, the human race, and why am I in it? Why do these things exist?? I have an idea as to HOW this happens, but I do not know why. I am probably missing something here - but I cannot get the question off my mind. All answers appreciated
  13. Agreed, its a very conscious show
  14. @GodDesireOnlyLove Tricky ego wants to see itself as superior, LOL @Surfingthewave Best of luck!
  15. Don't worry. The 30 awakenings are now over, and it is likely he wont go that hard again. For a while, anyway.
  16. I usually can't cry easily, but recently during meditation, I struggle NOT to cry. It's like I found what was missing in my spiritual practice. Love! try this in your meditation, it comes really naturally to me when I do it ( @electroBeam showed me this one ) 1. Sit down and relax. Take very deep breaths, at every exhalation, feel your entire body expand, as if it floats away and dissolves. 2. Once you feel like you've sunk into the ground you're sitting in. Imagine a close family member suffering. Imagine that they are trying their best but failing. 3. Visualise a beloved deity or a symbol of God that you resonate with, or just remember a trip of Love you had, or a time you felt deep love. Wrap that suffering family member in deep love. 4. Do this for strangers. Try and see them suffering and trying their best. 5. Now do it for dictators and tyrants. See how their decisions caused them lots of suffering and they did it due to mental illness or because they were hurt from childhood For me, it works especially well when you focus on someone who you once hated, or had caused you suffering. Surround that person in love during this meditation just as you would for someone that you care about deeply. Unconditionally. The emotional release can be amazing.
