  1. That's just his opinion that he's trying to pass off as a fact to support his idea that there is such a thing as objective beauty. His thinking is almost child like.
  2. @IJB063 I'm not stating these as absolute truths. I'm saying that these are limitations of scientific thinking and understanding this opens the door to more exploration of what is going on. It's an invitation for unlimited discussion about the relative nature of life rather than just closing the discussion down by trying to claim the absolute truth.
  3. It's ok to being labels into a discussion. It's probably not ok to start labelling yourself. Which you did all by yourself. I never said you were stage orange, I said if you're here to defend science and rationalism rather than being prepared to think about it's limitations then you might get frustrated here. I think labelling people with a colour is limiting and unnecessary, just play the ball rather than the person.
  4. I wouldn't joke if I were you lol
  5. Am I? Point to where I did this. All I'm doing is pointing out areas that I have mastered for the benefit of clarifying my thinking. Maybe others will benefit from it. But there is no way I'm stating absolutes.
  6. Good. You have your opinion, I have mine.
  7. Who said you are stage orange? Not me. Why label yourself and why turn an abstract conversation into something where you personally label yourself ?
  8. If you say so. Be aware that this is a story you create in order to bring the the experience to a closure rather than being ok with not knowing
  9. Ok, so if you aren't willing to look at orange thinking for what it is, then why are you here? This forum might end up frustrating you if your purpose here is to defend science and rationalism
  10. I'm not arguing. For me this is an excercise in clarifying my thinking. You or others may benefit from it as much as I am. But I'm not attmempting to be right, I'm just trying to raise awareness. I'm not being solipsistic, Solipsism is another philosophy, I'm not making any conclusions but trying to keep an open mind, I'm well aware that even now I'm constructing a partial reality. That's all you can do with data, is interpret it. The data is there but it has to be filtered through a human being. Human beings are biased, even skepticism and it's grounding philosophy are philospoical constructs. It's helpful to be aware of this otherwise you will take the skepticism for granted as the absolute truth.
  11. @IJB063 I didn't see your first reply. Give me a moment to read it and reply.
  12. Notice how this guy from the school of life is playing a biased ego game in order to get his viewers to side with him. First off he constructs a straw man by generalizing and framing all those who are in disagreement of his idea that beauty is objective as people who want to simply close down discussion. He then proceeds to tell you how he sees it by dressing it up as objective facts. Typical orange nonsense
  13. Yes, what is objective anyway? I don't agree. Facts can be interpreted to suit biases in order to support theories or hypothesis or whatever. Ultimately these are stories seen through a certain subjective lens, and the data collected is also seen through a subjective lens. It takes a degree of self awareness to be understanding of this. Just look around, most people are of average looks and they seem to find a way to get together. If there was not physical attraction in the fist place we wouldn't even have a species. The Jennifer Aniston's and Brad Pitt's of the world are a minority, and their relationships also fail. If the theory of genetic fitness were solid we would see only the beautiful people mating the beautiful people and those relationships lasting at least as long as it takes for the children to leave home and this would be repeatable. We would also see a decline in the average people because of less mating opportunites.
  14. Yes objective in the context of first glances. But absolutely objective? Who knows? Isn't this just a hypothesis, and studies are conducted around these hypothesis? For me it's still doesn't tell me anything about what happens after first glances. I think good looks and muscles can get you noticed for sure, but what happens after that can't really be captured by the scientific method because there are too many confounding variables at work. Look at all the failed relationships in Hollywood with what we at first glance percieve as genetically fit people. There is more going on than just surface level physical attraction.
  15. Yeah I've heard this before. But how did we come to the conclusion that beauty is objective just because the samples we studied agreed on what was generally attractive? For me all those results tell us that we are conditioned to percieve some features as attractive and some as unattractive at first glance.
  16. @Mongu9719 Don't we need the conditioning to learn how to do specific things? I feel that you wouldn't be able to stop conditioning anyway because of other influences outside of your control, like school. But being free of all emotional dysfunction will create a home environment that your children will grow up in that will be conducive to eventually transcending their egos much more easily. The less emotional damage children are subjected to the better chance they have in life of expanding their consciousness.
  17. @Rilles I find myself being less interested in rising to other people's expectations the more my own expectations are let go of. Seems a double edged sword, I become more accepting but at the same time care less for doing the things that ensured people found me acceptable. Maybe it's a spiral issue because I find myself mostly around orange centred people. Orange is very people skills centred, and it's especially augmented in business settings. But I find myself disillusioned with all that because it seems so unnecessary.
  18. Yeah it's amazing how merely inserting "I think" or "for me" before stating what I need to say profoundly changes my experience and probably changes others experience of me too. I find myself in far fewer conflicts just by adjusting how I use language.
  19. It does though. You never fallen for someone average and they just got more incredibly beautiful as you two got deeper into the relationship? Beauty is not objective at all, it's very personal
  20. Doesn't this create a sense of freedom in you? It does for me. I can just sit back and enjoy it all for what it is (or really isn't).
  21. @Enizeo Its only soy isolates that are said to mess you up. Not soy itself.
  22. I'm not so sure about that. I think being triggered comes from different things, but the most common for me is when I've decided that something is true and I see someone say things that make me question what I believe is true, I get triggered. But just because I get triggered at something someone else says that makes me question by beliefs, doesn't necessarily mean that what they are saying is necessarily true either. All you have to do is look at people who get triggered when they are confronted by ideas that are quite obviously false. This proves that being triggered doesn't mean what you're saying it means. If you want people to buy into your story you could say that everyone who gets triggered by your story is only being triggered because they can't see the truth. I think a lot of people would be fooled by this kind of manipulation, but I can't see people who are growing on a spiritual path to get fooled by it. I'm not.
  23. Transdermal liposomal vitamin c. Take a normal lipisosmal vitamin c sachet, mix it with some blended aloe Vera pulp and apply it to anywhere that hurts. Injuries after training, toothache, headache, shoulder ache, frozen shoulder, you name it, it works instantly and lasts for over 24 hours. It even works on sunburn
  24. @Rasheed Yeah, fish is the ultimate anti inflammatory food. Chicken and read meat cause inflammation. Well, that's what I've heard anyway. I eat a lot of fish because I feel better on it, I feel lighter, it's easier to digest. I feel a kind of density come over me when I eat meats that I don't get from fish.
  25. @Rilles Its all consuming isn't it? I constantly live in fear of something, and when I'm able to let the thoughts go i find that things sometimes get worse for me externally sometimes. I'm hoping it will correct itself and the outside will start to reflect my inside more accurately. I'm starting to think I'm creating shadows from doing spritual work.
