  1. Alcohol works by increasing the activity of GABA in your brain. It also has dopaminergic effects. If you feel good when you drink, then you probably enjoy the feeling of elevated dopamine and GABA, as many people probably do. While there is nothing safe that will give you the same degree of neurotransmitter release as alcohol. Some compounds are dopamine/GABA modulatory. Acetyl-L-Carnitine, and Bromantane, for example. There are other nootropics that can modulate GABA. Lemon Balm-Apigenen-L Theanine- Magnolia Bark. Food is necessary for a healthy brain. So make sure you are on point with your diet. Kava is a plant that has been used for thousands of years. It increases GABA activity not by releasing it but by increasing the receptor density, or you could say sensitivity. It really gives you a buzz similar to alcohol. It doesn't produce tolerance nor withdrawal, nor will it cause liver failure.
  2. Worth watching: I enjoyed it. Examine how the materialist mind constructs and deconstructs reality and how different that is from someone who uses consciousness itself to deconstruct and construct reality. If you don't have time to watch all of this I recommend you skip to the part where Alan (the Buddhist) speaks: you will learn from it and he is an excellent orator.
  3. The title says all. I will admit that I am reluctant to tell girls about me being in an open relationship because I know they will lose interest. Why is that? Do they feel threatened? Sometimes it is the opposite, and girls will actually be interested in me, but the former is often the case.
  4. Not taking it personally, but you're mistaken. I'm sure many people think this way, but those who are wise know that love does not mean possession. Luckily I found someone who thinks like me. My own personal life directly invalidates what you claim to be the truth. You make it sound like being protective and being non-monogamous are mutually exclusive when they are not. Sneaky
  5. In this case, I mean they would let me try to win them over. I.e they would date me and get to know me and then decide. But some are turned off instantly when I mention I am in a relationship. So they are not trying to know me. That is what I mean
  6. You're right because most of them ended up being needy, except for a few who stopped seeing me because they found someone else. However, don't think that all girls are like that. I currently know a girl who only sees me because she enjoys my company and for sex. That is it. She talks to me about guys and has fucked my friend in the past. Women connect emotions to sex, which for them is inseparable. However, emotions do not equate to a relationship. For some women, promiscuity and adventure is more enthralling emotionally than a stable guy. It's true.
  7. I wasn't thinking highly of myself. I was replying to @Knowledge Hoarder when he said, "they want you for themselves," so the assumption being here is that they want me: so my answer was wouldn't they try to have me instead of losing interest? I don't know about thinking highly of oneself, but I do damn know that I value myself. Not a bad thing.
  8. You misunderstood me. I do not lie to them about my intentions. I am obvious to girls that I do not want a relationship ever or have kids ever. I am clear that I value sexual freedom and will not be restrained. I am clear that I do not like jealousy and possessiveness. Yet many girls accept this and are fine: UNTIL they find out I am in an open relationship. So your theory is partially incorrect because they knew what I want/do not want, and that did not stop them, but being in a relationship does. WHY?
  9. You are 100% right. I blew off 4 sexual partners by telling them the truth. Now I am reluctant. But you are right, and I will try do so.
  10. They would try to win me over instead of completely losing interest. Girls need to know u before they want u for themselves. In many cases, they never even get to know me.
  11. My consciousness is limited, no matter how many hours I meditate or even if I take 5meo as long I imagine this body / this ego. I will be limited. To truly experience God's power, infinite consciousness in its fullest/ most fluid nature. What separates limited consciousness from accessing universal consciousness FULLY? This makes me feel almost powerless; like Leo's video Life is A Maze: I will always feel like an individual in the maze, and even if I realize I am the maze, I will never become the maze itself. Unless "I die"? Do you have insights about universal consciousness vs. localized consciousness that feels like it in a body/altar? Is there such a distinction?
  12. In 12:35, he says that he doubled his dose because he is impatient. What really shocked me is that he thought this was a low dose, and Deric laughed and said, "no, that's not at all, dude" "that's reaching cycle territory," and his response was, "but some guy on youtube took 500 and said it was okay so 200 is fine." WTF! You'd expect the biggest YouTuber regarding drugs and harm reduction would adopt the principle of lowest effective dose researching compounds and not listen to what some random guy says on youtube... Keep in mind Deric is also his friend and very knowledgeable on hormones/endocrinology, yet he still did not ask him if it was a high dose. I like adam, but he's the definition of "do as I say, not as I do."
  13. Idk if I should post this here or on Life Purpose, Career & Entrepreneurship. This will be my first job interview as I am just fresh out of college and finished my internship. As such, I don't know if they will even ask me technical questions, especially considering my position will be unrelated to my major. Do you have any advice for me? I usually try to be as natural as I can and not bullshit; I am a good speaker and confident, so I am not worried about bumbling when I speak. The company is Delloite.
  14. Love this book. Many of the things said are exactly the same as Leo's teachings. There are differences as well. Check it out
  15. @Adodd No I mean the potentiation of effects lasted only 40 mins. My gf and sister experience this as well. To be honest, I only experience it if I do not sleep enough. After LSD, I need to sleep like an extra hour than I normally do, if I don't I wake up feeling down. Not tired, just down. But it goes away towards the end of the day usually.
  16. DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU ARE VERY EXPERIENCED WITH LSD AND CAN TOLERATE HIGH DOSES IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO PSYCHEDELICS DO NOT TRY THIS I am not very sensitive to LSD; I need very high doses to trip. Nothing to do with tolerance or inaccurate doses. I have taken long breaks and took LSD with my friend; I always need more than people. With this in mind, cannabis was my favorite drug to co-consume with LSD. They synergize very well, as many of you will agree. I do not have any, so I decided to try something out. I took 100 mg of Oleamide 3 hours into my trip. "Oleamide is a derivative of Oleic Acid (major omega-9 fatty acid form Olive Oil) with a nitrogen group, and appears to be naturally associated with sleep; injections induce sleep and activate the same receptors as Marijuana." "On 5-HT2A receptors, 10-300nM of Oleamide is able to potentiate serotonin-induced receptor signaling." The 5-HT2A receptor is the receptor that psychedelics bind to. "Appears to interact highly with serotonin receptors, augmenting the signaling of serotonin agonists through the 2X receptor subsets. The potency of the above is fairly remarkable and occurs at very low concentrations with high efficacy. Oleamide is likely a serotonergic synergist." I did not find any trip report on this combination. But, after reading about pharmacology, I was convinced it was both safe and potent. So, I decided to try it. AND OMG! It increased the intensity to almost double. I freaked out at first of how intense it was. It also made the headspace feel extremely hypnotic if you know what I mean. It is hard to describe, except that it made the visuals very dream-like and hypnotic, increasing almost every mental aspect of LSD. The only drawback? Very short-lived: 40-50 mins or so. I think this because Oleamide is broken down quite rapidly. I did not try to re-dose again; I suspect it would work. The people why may benefit from this are those who feel LSD is not very mystical / or potent enough to create that powerful mystical headspace that for example DMT gives me effortlessly. With LSD, I can take 4 tabs and go talk to my mom while pretending I'm not tripping. With Ayahuasca: NO WAY.
  17. "Weird as it may seem, we often learn about ourselves by observing our own behaviors, so if all of our behaviors suggest to us that money, for example, is the highest good, we very well may start to believe it." "If you find yourself unable to endure basic economy flights, enjoy camping trips, or are unhappy whenever the thermostat is not set to the perfect temperature, you have become overly reliant on comfort. This dependency will limit your ability to be content in all but the rare perfect scenario." "You teach yourself what is important to you through your behaviors, so behave wisely." "Our desires are emotional investments, and many of the principles of good financial investing apply to good desire allocation. Diversification." "Which of these structures would you rather be inside of in a tornado? The structure on the left is incredibly vulnerable. A small breeze would be enough to destroy it. In our case, the small breeze would be that everyday occurrence of a situation not going according to plan. As soon as one link in the chain fails, the entire structure topples, which results in emotional self-destruction. However, the structure on the right is highly robust, and a person with a goal structure like this will be far more emotionally robust. As soon as one goal fails, you can both pivot to another, and the more quickly this can be done, the less time has to be spent suffering, and the sooner he can get back to pursuing his end." "Thus, his goal in playing tennis will not be to win a match (something external, over which he has only partial control) but to play to the best of his ability in the match (something internal, over which he has complete control). By choosing this goal, he will spare himself frustration or disappointment should he lose the match. Since it was not his goal to win the match, he will not have failed to attain his goal, as long as he played his best. His tranquility will not be disrupted." ------ William Irvine, A Guide to the Good Life. Quotation from the book Designing The Mind, Principles of Psychitecture
  18. "Pretreatment with the MAO-inhibitors iproniazid, clorgyline, or deprenyl abolishes the effects of LSD on the conditioned avoidance response (CAR) in rats." You're correct. My bad. I never even thought of taking MAOI with Lysergamides. Tryptamines only, of course not 5-Meo-DMT, as that would be potentially lethal.
  19. It is an MAO-I. Combining MAO-I especially with LSD is probably scarier than DMT because DMT is broken down rapidly while LSD is not. I haven't tried it, though.
  20. Now they won't need to. I'll do anything to save tabs!
  21. I'm a total noob when it comes to this stuff, so bear with me... Did you install it under the sink? Any alternative places to install it in? Is there a way in which I could pour a water bottle onto something that would pump it in the RO system?
  22. @Tim R Yeah I guess I did. I did not find anything on Reddit or google with this combination or any other serotonergic psychedelic for that matter. The only useful information I found was that it potentiates 5-HT2A receptor signaling, and has some receptor binding profile as cannabis when I read that, I was like, AHA!
