Dan is the man

I have ADHD, but when I trip, it's amplified even more. Not sure if everyone feels this, but thoughts, ideas, imagery, and memories all explode in my mind. It's fun, but I feel like I can't focus enough to delve deeper. This convinced me that I need to establish a daily meditation habit. Other than meditation, what else can help with this?

I also fucking hate humans. But I also fucking love them.

thanks for the share friend. -
Idk if you ever noticed this. When I try to recommend Actualized.org vids to my friends they will come up with any excuse to not watch: He's annoying Too long His face distracts me Not sure it will help me He's satanic Its clear to me these are excuses. Sadly a lot of them will benefit so much yet they are like allergic to this stuff. More than happy to a million other things. I realize Actualized.org is for some and not others. But I can sense that this stuff triggers them so much. My friend who's not that religous said "theres something bad/satanic about him" LIKE WTH.

Among the evils of life, there are few which are as painful as boredom, and consequently every attempt is made to avoid it. It can be avoided in two ways; either fundamentally, by being productive, and in this manner experiencing happiness, or by trying to avoid its manifestations. The latter attempt seems to characterize the chasing after fun and pleasure in the average person today. From the standpoint of normative humanism we must arrive at a different concept of mental health; the very person who is considered healthy in the categories of an alienated world, from the humanistic standpoint appears as the sickest one— It follows that happiness cannot be found in the state of inner passivity, and in the consumer attitude which pervades the life of alienated man. The aim of life is to live it intensely, to be fully born, to be fully awake. To emerge from the ideas of infantile grandiosity into the conviction of one’s real though limited strength; to be able to accept the paradox that every one of us is the most important thing there is in the universe—and at the same time not more important than a fly or a blade of grass. To be able to love life, and yet to accept death without terror; to tolerate uncertainty about the most important questions with which life confronts us—and yet to have faith in our thought and feeling, inasmuch as they are truly ours. To be able to be alone, and at the same time one with a loved person, with every brother on this earth, with all that is alive; to follow the voice of our conscience, the voice that calls us to ourselves, yet not to indulge in self hate when the voice of conscience was not loud enough to be heard and followed.

I recommend anything I find useful to my friends. Stuff on nutrition, studies, books, and yes even Leo. I’m not trying to convert them, I’m recommending they watch something and let them decide if it’s useful or not. What’s wrong with that? Yes, Actualized.org will help them the most out of all the podcasts and videos on youtube. I’m not trying to jerk-off Leo, but the gold in his content is just off the charts man….. I personally haven’t come across something as valuable as actualized.org was to me. And I’m an avid reader and learner. I don’t care if it’s Leo or aliens who made it, I want them to watch the content; not Leo. I told you how knee jerk their reactions were, and you think i’m the one being overly zealous? They are much more of zealots than me and that’s why they can’t watch anything outside their comfortable paradigm. Im sorry but your argument is judgmental. Tons of my friends watched Leo and thanked me dearly for introducing them to this field of knowledge. What’s wrong with recommending it to others man? No one should push anything too far. Which is why I back off when I sense they’re coming up with excuses

I had that I even wrote down things and thoughts and was looking at them while tripping. Yet i still too easily get lost in the mind while tripping, even more easily than normal consciousness. -

DMT / and or Ayahuasca do that even more to me. -

Not necessary controlling the mind as a whole. just focusing more on one aspect whatever it maybe be. -
@Leo Gura Leo, that last sentence is a very bold statement that would contradict the current scientific outlook on health, disease, and aging. If you are referring to genetic disabilities like inherited diseases or genetic polymorphisms, then you may have a point (and many polymorphisms can be attenuated with supplementation). Those conditions are what is considered bad genetics, Leo. The majority of the population does not fall into that category. Most of us have good as well as bad genetics, making us stronger in some areas and weaker in others. So to categorize people as those with good and bad isn't reflective of the complexity of actual reality If what you're saying is true, then mapping out certain genetics would correlate with longevity. There are a few genetics that correlates with longevity, but also many people are healthy but don't have that genetic makeup and many who aren't do. Correlational, not causal. Also we know that lifestyle factors can up-regulate or influence the same genes as those correlated with longevity (FoxO gene). Yet, we see that lifestyle factors are more correlated with health outcomes than genetics. Studies from whole populations, genetic twins, and randomized controlled trials show us this repeatedly. Lifestyle influences everything from your microbiome to cardiovascular disease and neurodegenerative diseases more than genetics. (This doesn't mean that if you Huntington disease lifestyle can fix that. Or that you can turn into a werewolf). Genetics play a role. But not as much as you think. What you say isn't true (with the caveat I mentioned). And that's good news!

@Leo Gura Leo, I don't neccesirly disagree. Yes, health is limited to how "far" our genes can take us. Eventually, we all lose this battle. Certain genes are correlated with longevity However, you ignore other factors (nutrition, exercise) alter gene expression. If you believe genes are important for health than you have to recognize what other factors influence genes You don't differentiate between genes which determine a specific health outcome and genes which increase the probability of contracting a disease, and it is possible to decrease said risk to baseline normal levels with lifestyle factors (Not my opinion). You say, "eat according to your genes", other than intolerances and allergies, we all have the same species gene. Sure, some people metabolize caffeine slower, but all of us can drink coffee.. You see what I'm saying? Its not like there are some people who can drink coffee and others don't because of their genetics. And guess what? Some foods can alter gene expression and increase the metabolism of drugs like caffeine. Genes are intertwined with environment, you can't reduce to simply genes. There are genetic disorders that render the body unable to synthesize carnitine, simply supplementing with carnitine resolves this issue; there are so many examples of such cases. Doesn't mean you will be immortal, or your health won't fail. But how can you pinpoint the reason for health failing simply on genes alone? Surely you don't think the body is that simple... I respect you so much but I doubt your ability to discern health outcomes. I also want people to realize this because the majority of you like all of us have some good genes and some bad. And unless you can literally tell me what gene you have thats causing you problems best not assume that....
-
We are talking about general health, not height or sex, or physical attributes. This is irrelevant to my point. My main argument is that Leo overestimates the impact of heritable genetics on health in the "healthy" population. He underestimates environment/lifestyle on health and also on epigenetics. He also confuses genetics which literally determine traits or disease, and genetics which increase the probability of having a disease.

Like many of you, I've known women who were like 10/10, and they were into me, but I did something to blow it off. In the past I struggled with this and tried to get them back years later, and it never worked, obviously. Currently, I developed an attitude of ruthlessly engaging and quickly letting go of women (when things don't workout). I don't want to sound sociopathic because I truly don't think this way but its almost like looking at them as disposal and replaceable. It helped me; I am able to unapologetically myself even though currently I don't have many options; the question is: is this attitude correct? Any caveats?

Supplements are just isolated chemicals. When you ingest food, you also ingest thousands of chemicals, probably you've never heard of. Some supplements are harmful, others aren't, others are potentially helpful. If you stick to a vendor which tests for pollutants and you stick to supplements which have good research (Lions mane, ALCAR, creatine, agmatine, beta-alanine, glycine, tongat ali, l theanine, CBD, cordyceps, L-citrulline, etc etc). At worst you won't notice beneficial effects. Supplements are great as an ad on to diet. Hes a little too much, but theres nothing inherently wrong with taking a shit ton of supplements.

Yes I agree entirely. He has a lot of stage orange thinking and you can see how charlie challenges him on that.

I wouldn't call him orange. Pure orange is someone like Patrick-Bet-David. He actually has a lot of helpful information, beyond orange values.

@Michael569 When it comes to probiotics products it has to be designed to make it beyond the G.I track, or else it will be destroyed by HCl acid. What makes this special is that it is designed to do so and also it includes prebiotics in addition to probiotics. They have a lot of scientists on the scientific advisory board. I recommended this to my friends and multiple people noticed benefits (acne, gut issues, etc). It seems the most legit to me.

The reason how I know is that you are literally facing the same issues as I am: Motivation issues (for me, it's because of ADHD) Time wasting behaviors The feeling of untapped potential and wondering if I have what it takes to tap into it. Feeling stuck in life. Feeling my life is "passing by." Addiction I am still fighting this battle. But as I said, the biggest challenge is to break the habits of mind that make us this way. You'd be surprised how a week of doing work sets you right back on track. A week of hitting the gym, reading, working on my life, contemplating, taking long walks, and eating clean will make me feel like everything is okay.. There's a plethora of things you can take action on. I was just reading a study on Sulfuraphane (Brocolli Sprouts) and Autism: Sulforaphane treatment of autism spectrum disorder (ASD): https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25313065/ You can change how you feel in a matter of weeks with tweaks in your diet, lifestyle, and behavior. This creates a snowball compounding effect. In 6-12 months you can change a lot, man. Hope you do.

Hands Down!! https://seed.com/daily-synbiotic @Michael569 I think you'll like this.

Welcome hommie. Honestly focus on Leo's vids/Life Purpose course that will help you the most. The forum is nice but its easy to waste time here.

What's done is done, I have a feeling you've actually done stuff, but you are too tough on yourself. Your biggest challenge/enemy now will be to break the life-long habits (of behaving and thinking) that have turned against you. You probably deal with a lot of resistance and pain, which causes you to avoid things and waste time in distractions to forget and ease the pain. I know because I deal with that too. In my opinion, no, it's not okay. And deep down, you know it's not (for you). Don't let who you've been dictate who you could be. You are here now, and you are realizing this; a spark has been kindled inside your mind. Let it burn, don't try to extinguish it. This feeling is here to help you, to set a fire under your ass to push you forward. It's uncomfortable, having to face all the imperfections and stupid decisions we made. I know, but do it because it is necessary.
